Scuba Diving in Costa Rica with Whitetip reef sharks! | Tamarindo Diving
Have you ever seen a Whitetip reef shark?
Whitetip reef sharks grow to a maximum length of 7 feet (2.1 m) and weight of 40.3 pounds
At night, whitetip reef sharks become active and hunt for bottom-dwelling prey hiding in coral reef holes and crevices like octopuses, crustaceans and reef fish.
These amazing animals have been around for at least 42 million years, and will hopefully stay for many more!

Manta ray visit in Tamarindo Costa Rica! | Tamarindo Diving
There is no better way to start a dive than with a Manta ray. These curious giants will normally swim around you and even come back multiple times during the dive to see you!

Our 7th day in Costa Rica, with 2 dives at the Catalinas Islands (again) where we got to see some spotted eagle ray (10 of them togheter), some white tip sharks, Porcupine Puffer Fish and a quite good size of a school of fish.
A quick trip to one our favorites beaches - Conchal Beach, before going to Tamarindo Beach for the Sunset and dinner...

Octopuses are just one of the amazing things that you can see at the Catalina islands!
As you can see in the video these incredible animals can change the entire color of there body in an instant. This can help them blend in perfectly with their surroundings to avoid predators. They are solitary creatures that usually live alone in dens built from rocks, which the octopus moves into place using its powerful arms.

Scuba diving with Whitetip reef sharks is one of the most exhilarating yet relaxing things you can do.
Whitetips hunt during the night so during the day you can mostly find them resting on the sandy bottom, as you can see on the video.
They are just one of the amazing marine life species you can find at the Catalinas, but if you have never seen a shark this is a great place to start!

The Mantas are back!!
Today we enjoyed some beautiful dives with sharks, turtles, rays, eels, octopuses and the amazing surprise of a Manta ray!
The giant manta ray can grow up to seven meters from the tip of each wing but are usually around four and a half meters.
They eat tiny marine organisms including microscopic plankton, small fish and crustaceans and unlike common belief they are peaceful and harmless.

Today on our scuba diving adventure we encountered this beautiful surprise!
Manta rays are the largest rays in the world, they are highly intelligent and highly threatened sea creatures.
Studies have shown that manta rays may be able to recognize themselves in mirrors, this ability indicates high cognitive function, also shown by dolphins, primates, and elephants.
Scuba Diving with a Manta ray is always an amazing unforgettable experience!
