Palo Verde Boat Tour + Guaitil Pottery
The Palo Verde national park constitutes one of the largest bird sanctuaries for wintering and watering birds in the world.
Palo Verde National Park was declared a Wildlife Refuge during the 1970s because of over 60 different species of birds used the Laguna, or wetland, as a migratory stop.
During the dry season in 1991 they spotted 35,000 black bellied whistling ducks, 25,000 blue winged teal, and several hundred migrating ducks. Later the park was declared a national park and operated under the the Ministry of the Energy and Environment, the park was put on the RAMSAR list of wetlands of International Importance and also on the Montreux Record due to its importance to the survival of migratory birds.
The park is a gigantic wetland because of the Tempisque River the largest water way in Guanacaste and is also where our tour takes place aboard a covered and safe river boat, we head up the river where you can see close to 60 different species of birds, white faced monkeys and howler monkeys, 8 different types of iguanas including the Basilisk or Jesus Christ Lizard as it is also known for its ability to run over water and lots and lots of crocodiles of different sizes.
After the boat tour we head towards the town of Ortega where we’ll enjoy a delicious Costa Rican styled lunch once that’s done we drive over to a local pottery maker that still uses the same techniques used by our ancestors the Chorotega Indians, where he will show you the process of making pottery and you will also have the opportunity to purchase some of his work if you so desire.

Public Transportation in Costa Rica: Tamarindo to San Jose
Everything I read says public transportation in Costa Rica is easy and efficient. Everything I read is a lie. Of course, most people writing aren't trying to find transportation for a family of seven.

A huge development is taking shape on the west coast of Mexico. 3 cranes and one cement pumping machine were in full operation during the video. The bay that the development overlooks is beautiful.
