I show the ruins of Tambomachay, Peru, a site associated with the Inca, but also looks to have more ancient ruins. Also strange high altitude marks above this site located near Cuzco and Sacsayhuaman.

Tambomachay is an archaeological site associated with the Inca Empire, located near Cusco, Peru. An alternate Spanish name is El Baño del Inca (the bath of the Inca).
It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls that run through the terraced rocks. The function of the site is uncertain: it may have served as a military outpost guarding the approaches to Cusco, as a spa resort for the Incan political elite, or both.

Al frente de este ushnu, en la margen derecha del riachuelo, apreciamos el hermoso Templo al Agua que representa Tambomachay, simplemente la descripción literal que podamos hacer de este mágico lugar siempre quedará corto, y probablemente, no capte en su integridad el mensaje que nos envían nuestros antepasados.

Bienvenidos al segmento de viajes! este fue el primero y esperamos que podamos compartir con ustedes muchos más! Acá tenemos el primer capítulo de lo que fue nuestra visita al Perú, En este maravilloso país conocimos varios puntos de interés de los que hablaremos en futuras entregas.
Nuestro viaje comenzó en Quito con escala en Lima. Este vídeo nos enseña la visita a los complejos arqueológicos próximos a la ciudad de Cusco. Estos se los puede conocer en un día contratando el City Tour que se ofrece en las agencias de viajes o en la Plaza de Armas, por no más de 25 por persona e Incluye transporte y guía turístico pero no la entrada.
Nosotros hicimos este recorrido por cuenta propia. Y empezamos por adquirir el boleto turístico para 16 atracciones por 10 días a 130 soles para extranjeros, se lo compra en la Municipalidad de Cusco en la Av. Del Sol a dos cuadras de la Plaza de Armas.
Contratamos un guía privado quien nos acompañó todo el día y camino junto a nosotros por los cuatros sitios arqueológicos.
Esperamos transmitir todo lo que vimos y aprendimos.
Anímense a recorrer los lugares que sueñen como perro sin dueño.

En tambomachay se rendía un culto al agua siendo conocido el lugar como los baños del inca su estructura arquitectónica es de gran belleza destacando cuatro muros o terrazas escalonadas unidas al cerro las cuales están construidas sobre la base de piedras labradas con formas regulares ensambladas magistralmente.

Q'inqu (Quechua for zig-zag, hispanicized spellings Ccenco, Quenco, also Kenko, Qenko, Q'enko, Qenqo) is an archaeological site in the Sacred Valley of Peru located in the Cusco Region, Cusco Province, Cusco District, about 6 km north east of Cusco. The site was declared a Cultural Heritage (Patrimonio Cultural) of the Cusco Region by the National Institute of Culture.
It is one of the largest wak'as (holy places) in the Cusco Region. Many wak'as were based on naturally occurring rock formations. It was believed to be a place where sacrifices and mummification took place.

The archaeological site of Tambomachay - Cusco, Peru
Not far from Puca Pucara, on the road from #Cusco to the #SacredValley, Tambomachay combines intricate stonework with the Incas devotion to water.
Known as the Baths of the Incas, a number of aqueducts and channels run through the site. But the focal point is a string of carefully designed #waterfalls, which split spring water into a series of cascades that fall in such a precise and delicate manner that its believed they were built as part of a water cult.
The trapezoidal niches on the high terrace and off to the side of the waterfall are among the most highly crafted stone constructions left by the #Incas.
The precision of the falls is matched by a similar water feature at Ollantaytambo, but the Incas also showed great control over water for more practical purposes.
Their use of stone irrigation channels to feed agricultural terraces around Cusco and the Sacred Valley allowed them to grow abundant crops at high altitudes, something previous Andean cultures never achieved.
