So based on my research (naks! nagresearch ang lola mo). There are 2 schools used as Ying De University. 1 in Chiayi County which is the National Chung Cheng Univesity (southern Taiwan) and Tamkang Univesity in Tamsui (North Taiwan). Mas malapit ang Tamkang University sa Taipei compared to NCCU. The bonus part is the Carrie Chang Fine Art Center inside Tamkang University is free admision but camera or videocam is not allowed. Dito sa School na'to nagkita si Lei at Teng Tang Jin, dito sinuntok ni Shancai si Dao dahil pupunta na ito ng New York, tambayan din ng F4, dito yung last episode ng Season 1 kung saan naglakad si Ximen at Mei Zuo sa harap ng CCFAC at dito kusang kiniss ni Shancai si Dao. (ayiiiiie). Ansarap balik-balikan nung mg eksena sa Meteor Garden lalo na yung mapuntahan mo yung nga lugar kung saan kinunan yung mga eksena. Yung maapakan mo yung minsan nalakaran ng F4 haaaaayyyys I feel so kilig pa rin kahit almost 2 decades na nakalipas. And who knows maybe one day sa Barcelona naman for Season 2(ayt! wala naman sigurong masama mangarap hahahaha). That's all folks! Insert Qing Fei De Yi Sountrack!

Service learning in Tamsui, Taiwan
We visited Jhongshan Elementary School in Tamsui, which is a very rural part of Taiwan. We had the chance to teach lessons to the Kindergarteners. We started the morning off with a read aloud of Brown Bear What Do You See?” and then we sang some songs like “Days of the Week” and “Months of the Year.” A lot of students did not speak English, so we showed them the song a few times, then we had them join us slowly. We finished off with singing and dancing along to GoNoodle, which a lot of teachers in the United States use as brain breaks or for transitioning to a new activity. This was completely new to the Taiwanese children and their smiles and laughter told us that they really enjoyed it!
After this fun experience with the Kindergarteners, we went to their library and read English books with 3rd graders. Working with English Language Learners is something I do not have too much experience with, so it was very beneficial for the both of us! I thoroughly enjoyed learning strategies to help the student I was paired with. Hands-on experience really does make the world of a difference versus just reading about it.
The teachers and staff at Jhongshan were beyond kind and helpful. They ordered lunch for us and we got to eat with a 1st grade class. After lunch, we showed them how to play Musical Chairs and they loved it! We got to play outside with them and teach them more games like Simon Says, 4 Corners, Duck, Duck, Goose and Rock, Paper, Scissors competitions. It was very hard to relay directions to these activities since a lot of the students did not speak English. Lucky for us, there was a little girl who was bilingual with Chinese and English, so she translated for us! Before we tried using her as a translator, there was a lot of confusion with how the games were played, and this was a struggle for us to try and figure out.
The principal and staff took us and the 1st graders down to their farm. We got to help plant their crops. They do this once a year as a celebration for the next graduating class. The local news ended up coming and we were on Taiwan news! It was so much fun! When the students went back to class, the principal all showed us how to make homemade bug spray out of Camphor leaves, alcohol, and water. We went to Fort San Domingo, Fisherman’s Wharf, watched the sunset, and had an amazing dinner buffet! This was an unforgettable experience while studying abroad!!

Travel Vlog #1: A Trip to Tamsui 淡水, Taiwan

Tamsui (淡水) is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Taipei, but most visitors follow their travel books and do not really know how Taiwanese people have fun there. Therefore, I am taking you guys with me to Tamsui! We are going to take the MRT there, have lunch at popstar Jay Chou's (周杰倫) favourite restaurant, and visit the local stores. Also, we will visit the historical Fort San Domingo (紅毛城), Former British Consular Residence (英國領事館) and Altheia University (真理大學)! Wow! It's so much fun! Don't hesitate! Check out this video now!
