- See Tammerskoski rapid. Climb to the Pyynikki Observation Tower.
- Särkänniemi Amusement park and Näsinneula Observation Tower are also fun place to visit!
- There are many interesting museums (art, video game, spy, moomin, ice hockey etc.) in Tampere!
- Don't forget to taste black sausage (mustamakkara) in Tammelantori square!
HOW TO GET THERE?
Tampere locates about 160 km distance from Helsinki to the up north.
From Helsinki Central Railway Station you will get there easily with train and it takes only about two hour.
You can get there also by bus and they start at Kamppi Center which locates about 400 meter to the west from the Helsinki Central Railway Station.

Versatile Museum Centre
Located on the banks of the Tammerkoski rapids, Vapriikki is a museum centre that offers things to see and do for the whole family. We put up about a dozen exhibitions each year with varied themes including history, technology and natural sciences.

Музей минералов раскрывает посетителям загадочный мир камней и минералов. При выборе экспонатов, предпочтение отдавалось ярким и броским камням. В музее представлены драгоценные и полудрагоценные камни, как в обработанном, так и в необработанном виде, строительные и декоративные камни, а также синтетические камни. Среди прочих, выставлены образцы благородных минералов, руды и металлов. В экспозиции также имеются метеориты и фоссилии, например, окаменелые яйца динозавров.
В Тампере находится единственный в Финляндии музей почты. Его постоянная выставка «Вестники» знакомит с историей развития корреспонденции и почтовых услуг в стране тысячи озер.
Едва переступив порог, посетители погружаются в атмосферу Финляндии первой половины 17 века. В то время письма доставляли пешком крестьяне. Выставка приглашает проследить, как финская почта эволюционировала с тех пор.
В музее можно заглянуть и на старинный почтамт, спящий сотрудник которого пробуждается с приходом посетителей и недовольно оправдывается за то, что уснул на рабочем месте.
Также здесь выставляют все марки, выпущенные в Финляндии. Интересна комната мальчика, собиравшего марки со всех уголков света в 1950-х. Его коллекцию, помещенную на карту мира, можно рассмотреть в телескоп.
Экспозиция интерактивна и полностью переведена на русский язык.

200 kms, Northbound from Helsinki, where the sun sets for 4 hours in May. Tampere is full of museums, such as the Lenin museum, Hockey Museum, arts gallery, or the Spy Museum.
And I have encountered the smallest airport so far here: only 4 gates, flights to Budapest, Helsinki, Stockholm and Riga.

Visit Tampere, Moomin Characters and the Moomin Museum arranged a competition to find the Number One Moomin Fan of the World. Sigrid Meulemans from Antwerp, Belgium, melted the jury’s hearts with her moving shadow puppet video. She won a trip to Tampere and to the World's only Moomin Museum as the Moomin Museum Guest of Honour. This is a story of her adventures in Tampere in August (2018).
