Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf | (渔人码头)| (Lover's Bridge)
Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is a scenic spot at the western tip of Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Its predecessor was the Tamsui Second Fishing Port on the right bank of the Tamsui Riverestuary, an important fishing harbor in the early history of north Taiwan.
One of the most famous locations in Taiwan, the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is well known for its beautiful sunsets, seafood, and, more recently with young people, its high amount of party boats.
Within the past few years, the wharf has gone through a major renovation process, building several new buildings including restaurants, hotels, shops, and the Lover Bridge of Tamsui, completed in 2003. At night, the bridge illuminates with a wide variety of colours.
Since the wharf is located a bit outside of Taipei City, some visitors choose to stay overnight nearby the wharf.
The wharf is located in Tamsui (淡水, Danshui) north of the Tamsui Old Street (淡水老街) area nearby Shalun Beach (沙崙).
Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is a popular shooting location for Taiwanese serial dramas. If you are a fan of Taiwanese television serial dramas, you may recognise locations around the wharf!
The restaurants around the wharf frequently host live bands to provide entertainment for guests.
Party boats in Taipei generally depart from Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf.
The wharf is home to the Tamsui [Danshui] Lovers' Bridge (淡水情人橋), 情人桥 in simplified Chinese.
How to get there:
After arriving at Tamsui Station (淡水), Red Line 2, take bus number 26 towards Fisherman's Wharf (漁人碼頭).
By Boat:
The wharf hosts a ferry pier for ferries that operate the route along the Tamsui River. Ferries operate between the wharf and Tamsui Old Street, Bali, and Dadaocheng ferry pier (大稻埕碼頭) in Taipei City (located next to Daqiaotou MRT Station) or Zhongxiao Wharf in New Taipei City. Simply swipe an Easycard and board the boat. It's a great way to avoid the crippling traffic of Tamsui during the afternoon rush hour, and a fun and unique way to return to Taipei.

TAROKO GORGE_ after Nanya Rock, Chiufen Village, Lungshan Temple and Taipei 101.
NANYA ROCK_Nanya, a coastline filled with amazing rock formations, a sea-eroded coral shore. The patterned stone is unique in Taiwan and formed through the weathering of the sandstone that lines the shore. The oxidation of iron ore within the stone gives it a beautiful striped pattern.
CHIUFEN VILLAGE_stroll through the Chiufen Village also known as Jiufen on this four-hour tour from Taipei,on the east coast. Chiufen Village (Jiufen), once the gold mining center of Taiwan. The gold is gone, but Chiufen (Jiufen) built of closely-packed houses clinging to steep mountainsides, continue to offer enchanting scenery, unique teahouses and fascinating glimpses into the lifestyles of the people long ago.
TAIPEI 101 Towering above the city like the gigantic bamboo stalk it was designed to resemble, Taipei 101 is impossible to miss. At 508m, Taipei International Financial Centre 101, as it's officially named, was the world's tallest building in 2004 until 2010; now it's the second after Dubai's Burj Khalifa., Taipei 101 also holds the record for having the world's fastest elevafor.The pressure-controlled lift travels at 1010 meters per minute and takes 35 seconds to get from ground level to the 89th floor observation deck
LUNGSHAN TEMPLE_The temple dates back to 1738. As the story goes, a passer-by left an amulet of the Guanyin (goddess of mercy) hanging on a tree on the site of the present temple, and the amulet shone so brightly, even after dark, that all who passed by knew the site was blessed. Nearly three centuries later, the spot still exudes a certain warmth. The stones that line the courtyard of the temple were originally ballast on the ships that ferried immigrants from Fujian province across the often treacherous Taiwan Straits, and the waterfall inside the courtyard is a favourite spot for shutterbug.
TAROKO GORGE_Just 15km north of Hualien, inside Taroko National Park, lies Taroko Gorge (Tàilǔgé), Taiwan's top tourist destination. With its marble-walled canyons, lush vegetation and cliffs so outsized they block out the sky, Taroko Gorge puts the 'Formosa' in Ilha Formosa.

Golden Waterfall (黃金瀑布), Jinguashi (金瓜石), Taiwan
The Golden Waterfall (黃金瀑布) is seen during our trip to Jinguashi (金瓜石) in Rueifang Township, New Taipei City (formerly Taipei County), Taiwan (ROC) on April 22, 2012. Located between mountains and the coastline, Jinguashi has attracted more and more tourists every year with its exceptionally stunning scenery.
Jinguashi is an old gold and copper mining town on Taiwan's north-east coast. The Gold Ecological Park (黃金博物園區) preserves some of the area's Japanese era buildings and contains a museum which tells the story of gold mining in the area. You can walk around the park for free but you need to buy a ticket to enter the museum buildings and the Crown Prince Chalet. There is also the Benshan Fifth Tunnel which visitors can enter to gain an experience of what conditions were like for miners.
During Japanese rule, there was a POW camp during World War 2, and was referred to by its Japanese name Kinkaseki.

Situated in northern Taiwan, Jiufen Village is a great place to explore the country's cultural history. Wander through Jiufen Old Street, where you can find signs of the Japanese occupation, ancient teahouses, food stalls, handicrafts, and the town's time as a gold mining hub. Tainan beaches - The best spot to shoot the sunset in Taiwan
Tainan City, a southern city in Taiwan, is a mixed city with great history and fabulous nature. For most first timers and Taiwanese, Tainan is only the historical city where it provides so tons of local foods to taste, as it’s always referred to as the food capital of Taiwan.
However, there are plenty of hidden natural spots in the countrysides. Within an hour drive, you can reach the embrace of natures. Absolutely great to plan a trip in the weekend.

Keelung Taiwan Info:
Pronounced Jīlóng in Mandarin, the city of Keelung was originally founded by Taiwanese Aboriginals and, with the arrival of the Spanish in the early 17ᵗʰ century, the city developed into a centre for military and commercial trade throughout the Spanish, Dutch, and Qing Dynasty periods of rule on Taiwan. With the arrival of the Japanese in the late 19ᵗʰ century, the port was further developed specifically for trade with Japan as Keelung is located along Taiwan's Northeast coast, eventually eclipsing Tamsui (Danshui) and Kaohsiung Harbours. By 1984, the port had become the 7ᵗʰ largest container harbour in the world.
This rich heritage of commerce and trade in Keelung has given birth to many historical and cultural sites, including Ershawan Fort (二沙灣砲台, also called Haimen Tianxian 海門天險), Heping Island, and Lovers Lake, not including the numerous relics and monuments scattered around the city. Given its proximity to the port, Keelung is the centre of Northern Taiwan's fishing industry hosting hundreds of fishing ships catching all kinds of fresh seafood from the sea.
