TAIWAN VLOG | Day 3: Yangmingshan and Tamsui Lover's Bridge & Old Street
DAY 3 BLOGPOST:
On our 3rd day in Taiwan, we went to Yangmingshan National Park. To get there, take MRT to Jiantan Exit 1. Walk to the Bus stop located on the left side after you exit. You can ride Bus R5 or S15 to Yangminshan. In our case, we took R5 for 7NTD.
At Yangmingshan there is an Information Center (I think? lol), that's where we got our 1-day unlimited bus ticket for 60 NTD.
It was not the perfect weather when we went to Yangmingshan because it freakin' cold that time. It's about 6C degrees and little did we know, it snowed that night. Plus, it was raining sooo hard and it's super windy that I couldn't feel my face, hands, and legs. #thestruggleisreal lol
After Yangmingshan, we went back to Shilin to eat some pasta then head straight to Tamsui.
To get to Tamsui Lover's Bridge. Take MRT Tamsui, after you exit walk
towards the Bus Stop and take 紅26 (Red 26), 836, or 857 to Fisherman's Wharf. We took 紅26. After Lover's Bridge, we went to Tamsui Old Street, you can also take the same bus to get back to Tamsui Old Street.

TAIWAN VLOG: Day 3 (Part 1) | National Palace Museum, Beitou Hot Springs, Tamsui Old Street
Hey hey hey! It's our Day 3 in Taipei!
1st stop is the National Palace Museum, we took the MRT to Shilin Station and a bus ride R30 to the National Palace Museum. Entrance fee is 250 NTD and if you want an audio guide which is so cool, you have to pay for another 30 NTD. We just explored the Exhibition Hall 1 since we don't have enough time. Maybe it will take half a day to explore to the whole museum!
2nd stop is the Beitou Hot Springs. To go there, take the MRT to Beitou and transfer to Xinbeitou Station. After you exit just walk straight until you reach the Thermal Valley. Entrance in the Thermal Valley is absolutely free!!! There are other resorts around the area where you can pay to go on a hot spring bath.
3rd stop is the Tamsui Old Street. Just take the MRT Tamsui Station, exit and turn left. There are so much street foods in here!! Waaaa! Eating while watching the sunset by the river.
We planned to go to the Tamsui Lover's Bridge which is also near the Old Street but it's getting late so yeah, change of plans!
Hope you enjoyed watching! Please give it a thumbs up & click SUBSCRIBE!

Tamsui Old Street, Tamsui, New Taipei
Tamsui Old Street is a wonderful contrast to the busy-ness of Taipei City. Just a few minutes walk from Tamsui MRT Station, the old street is easily accessible and impossible to miss. You'll surely find something worth tasting among the diverse snacks available here. An ice cream cone longer than your face will amaze adults and children alike. The tiny “Iron Eggs” with their rich, chewy flavor will be hard to stop once you started. Enjoying a cup of sour plum juice with the gentle riverside breeze is a great way to cool off on a summer afternoon. Or a bowl of fish ball soup with a famous 阿給 “ā gěi” (fried tofu filled with glass noodles) makes for a memorable local experience. Eaten to the sound of talented buskers, with the beautiful view of the setting sun before you, it is no surprise that people love this place!
Nevertheless, Tamsui is definitely more than just food. We recommend hopping on a rental bicycle and exploring the mangrove ecology on the riverside trail. Or taking a cruise from Tamsui to Bali across the river, where you can absorb the beautiful scenery of Guanyin Mountain. Many also like to bring a book and kick back at a café on the riverside for an idyllic respite. And if that is not enough for you, check out the nearby Wuji Tianyuan Temple for cherry blossoms in spring and Tough Guy Peak for an amazing night view.
How to reach there: Tamsui old street is at a walk-able distance from the Tamsui MRT station. You can reach Tamsui MRT station by catching Taipei metro red line.

Sadly this was our last couple of days eating in Taiwan! Time really does fly when you're eating delicious food and it was such a delicious journey. We didn't even get to try all the places on my wish list.

Tamsui Old Street (淡水老街) - Taipei #KulinerYUK (Bahasa)
Located along the riverfront in Tamsui (Danshui), Tamsui Old Street is a boardwalk-like area full of shops, carnival games, restaurants, cafés, and xiaochi snacks.
The waterfront area is a great place to watch the sunset over the Tamsui River. Vendors will generally start in the afternoon and stay open until the last MRT train at 12 midnight. Visitors who arrive early can first walk around the town area and visit other local attractions.
A ferry can be taken from the pier at Tamsui Old Street across to Bali Left Bank (八里左岸), a relaxing waterfront area popular with cyclists. EasyCard (悠遊卡) is accepted on this ferry. Other ferry services travel to Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (淡水漁人碼頭) and Dadaocheng Wharf (大稻埕碼頭) back in Taipei City.
The English name Tamsui is a romanisation of the original Taiwanese Hokkien name for the town, roughly pronounced in Hokkien as dǎm zwèe. In actuality, everyone refers to this town by the Mandarin Chinese name Danshui.
How To Get There?
By MRT
Take the MRT Red Line 2 to the northern terminus station Tamsui (淡水). Exit the station and turn left, then walk along the waterfront. The trip takes around 40 minutes from Taipei Main Station.

台北 | TAIPEI VLOG: Tamsui & Beitou
Made my way to Tamsui/Danshui today by Victoria's recommendation. If you're ever in Taiwan I definitely recommend you go as well ! :) You're gonna have the most amazing tasting squid balls. Then since I still had a lot of time left, I decided to go to the Beitou Hot Springs ! Unfortunately I didn't end up dipping into any of the hot springs myself, but it was still cool seeing them! Ended off the night with a walk around Shilin Night Market.

TamSui Old Street/淡水老街 - New Taipei City/新台北
Once in TamSui a visit to the Old Street is possibly on top of your to-do list. The street is lined with snack and souvenir shops on the left and right and at the end towards the metro station you will bump into the food street with plenty of delicious food and snacks. Stock up a bit and head down to the waterfront afterwards to enjoy the nice breeze.
