A beautiful sunny day at Tandle Hill Country Park in Royton, Greater Manchester, England.
It has beech woodland and open grassland. The park contains a countryside centre, picnic areas, children's play area and numerous trails and paths into the surrounding area. In fine weather conditions, it offers views of Manchester and the Welsh mountains.

Nearly 3,000 members of various action groups joined forces for the ‘Save The Green Belt Walk’ at Tandle Hill Monument at noon.
They came from across Oldham – and further afield – to Tandle Hill Monument in Royton at noon on Monday, January 2, 2017, to object to the plans to build thousands of homes on Oldham's Greenbelt, put forward under the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF) draft plan.

Winter Walks around Daisy Nook Country Park, Oldham
Only a short way outside the East of Manchester, in Oldham on the way to Ashton Ikea, is a little gem of a country park with so much to do for the kids and grown ups alike!
Daisy Nook country park has an excellent play area, cafe and toilets as well as lakes and wildlife. There is also a fishing lake, canal and woodland walks leading from there too. And the parking is free!
