AUSTRALIA: Tangalooma Whale Watching Cruise | TRAVEL VLOG
Our whale watching trip in Australia was an experience we will never forget! We were staying at Tangalooma Resort on Moreton Island, which is just south of the Great Barrier Reef off of Australia's east coast. This cruise was offered by the resort and left right from their pier, at an extra fee.
We were there in September, which is when the annual humpback whale migration occurs. We had been told that we were guaranteed to se whales, and I had bought a telephoto lens and binoculars just for this trip. We had no idea that the whales would give us the thrill of a lifetime!

Whale Watching at Redcliffe, Australia | JustBecause
As we sail off the Queensland coast of Australia on the 'Eye Spy' to go whale watching, we come up with a parody of the hit song: how deep is your love by Calvin Harris. Enjoy this amazing footage of humpback whales breaching next to the boat! How deep is your whale?

Whale Watching, Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia - 8th September, 2015
The humpback whale is a species of baleen whale, adults range in length from 12–16 m (39–52 ft) and weigh about 36,000 kg (79,000 lb). Found in oceans and seas around the world, humpback whales typically migrate up to 25,000 km (16,000 mi) each year. Humpbacks feed only in summer, in polar waters, and migrate to tropical or subtropical waters to breed and give birth in the winter when they fast and live off their fat reserves. This film features views of humpback whales breaching the ocean surface and expelling air from their blow holes in Moreton Bay, a short distance from Brisbane, off of the Queensland Coast, Australia.
The film begins at Redcliffe where the whale watching boat departed from, it features views of Moreton Bay and Moreton Island, and then numerous views of humpback whales within Moreton Bay.

Moreton Island - Tangalooma Island Resort
Moreton Island is an island on the eastern side of Moreton Bay on the coast of South East Queensland, Australia. From Holt Street Wharf, Brisbane we took a standard day cruise to Tangalooma Island Resort. We paid $65 for two way transfer and a free voucher that you can use for lunch worth $20. There are a lot of water activities you can try but the weather is a little gloomy and the current was very strong. My husband and my friend tried to go for snorkelling but they didn't make it to the ship wreck. We also enjoy the hike and the sand dune. It was about 15 min walk from the resort to the sand dunes. Overall it is a fun get away with friends.

The Tangalooma Jet struggled to keep up with the fast moving whales today, with pods travelling north all across the horizon!

Wild Dolphin Feeding
Every night, dolphins swim up to the jetty at Tangalooma Resort in Queensland, Australia. In good weather, resort guests can enter the water to feed the dolphins.
This seemed like a perfect idea for an episode for Work Play Vacay and host Paula Hlavacek. Not everything works out to plan. See how Plan B turned out.
If you plan to visit, Tangalooma Resort is located on Moreton Island, which is about a 75-minute fast ferry ride from Brisbane.
