Foley Sales Tax Hits One Month Record
FOLEY, Ala. (WPMI) The city sales tax in is setting a record. Foley earned more than a million dollars in one month and it could grow.The summer has been especially profitable at shopping stores like the Tanger Outlets. July's sales tax revenue came in at more than $1.2 million.We are being proactive we are not just sitting back hoping business will come to us. Yeah this is a trend that will continue, said Foley Mayor John Koniar, who sees the bigger picture.He says expansion of the Beach Expressway, the ground breaking of a future theme park Blue Collar Country and the city's Farm and Seafood Market Place, which is now under construction, will add to the new summer spending trend.July's sales tax record was slightly over a previous sales tax record set in July of 2006. Retailers say the recent summer rains may actually have driven people to go shopping in Foley.It rains and the tourists can't stay on the beaches. They usually look for places to go and this is one of those main hot spots for them, said Tom Knighten with the Tanger Outlet Mall, the largest retailer in Foley.The mall now sits adjacent to all the new development the city is counting on.Baldwin County could use a shot in the arm as far as a theme park goes. So yes, Tanger is very optimistic about this, said Knighten.City officials say that shot in the arm has come at a cost to a community that suffered after the 2010 oil spill. The mayor says he sees the brighter side, a silver lining.You know candidly BP has been a love hate but BP has brought a lot of people down here with their national advertising campaign making people aware of the Alabama beaches, the Florida beaches, Louisiana, etc. They are paying their dues on that regard, said Koniar.

Park Avenue Condos for Sale in Foley AL
The video attached is footage of the pool area and the North side of the condo property. The condos are well-secured and the pool area is locked with only owners having keys to prevent over-use of the pool. Park Avenue is located in central Foley, AL near Wal-Mart, the YMCA and Foley High School. Park Avenue condominiums is comprised of two and three bedroom floor plans and close to a variety of shopping outlets, restaurants and entertainment venues. The Foley YMCA and the Foley High School is literally walking diatance from Park Avenue condos and an Academy Sports is under construction with plans to open on April 1st, 2015, which is also walking distance from Park Avenue condos in Foley, AL. The condos share an outdoor pool with plenty of room for having guests over to enjoy the warm months in Foley, which is most of them for this area. Perhaps the best amenity of Park Avenue condos is the proximity of downtown Foley, AL. Owners and guests can literally walk to numerous local businesses including places to eat, the Tanger Outlet Mall and watch Friday Night Lights at the Foley High School. Foley, AL has always been the largest city in the area based on things to do. The beautiful beaches of the Alabama Gulf Coast are only a few minutes away and, depending on traffic, about 15 minutes from Park Avenue. Mobile, AL has the closest airport and is approximately 75 minutes away. Pensacola, FL is about an hour from Park Avenue condos and downtown Fairhope is approximately 35 minutes for the condos in Park Avenue. The interior's of the condos is well-appointed with numerous upgrades, including granite counters and screened porch areas to help with the Summer mosquitoes.
