Malaysia is a country which is popular for its street food. Night market or known as Pasar Malam to the local is a hot hangout spot for food. Different day night market aka pasar malan takes place in a different area and people gather to indulge in those delicious street food or to buy back some stuff.
Pasar Malan isn't only about food even though food is the main attraction but everyday household things can be found here. Pasar malan is also a place where kids enjoy them self, lots of toys are sold here. It's like a carnival that happens ones a week at your house area where you wait patiently for.

Pasar malam is malay for night markets, and night markets are a huge part of Malaysian culture. Every local neighbourhood in Malaysia will have its own small pasar malam, but in this series I will show you some of the biggest and most famous pasar malam in all of Malaysia! In Part 1, we head to Tanjung Bungah in northern Penang to check out my first proper pasar malam in Malaysia and see what kind of street food I can find.

Tanjung Bungah Night market - known as Tanjung Bungah Pasir Malam in Malay - is a popular outdoor market held each Tuesday night.
As dusk falls we walk along the main road to this traditional Malay market and discover the many stalls selling a multitude of foods and goods.
Some of the most popular stalls are the ones that prepare fresh meals cooked to order right in front of you.
See the men hard at work cooking with giant woks. See the man making a porridge from fresh sweetcorn kernels. And as well as fresh fruit and vegetables there are stalls selling clothing, shoes and all manner of hardware.
