Tannery Falls in Savoy, Ma HD
We hiked down on Friday, June 17th 2011. Weather forecast for the day was scattered showers but we lucked out and had partly cloudy skies for the day. If you plan on coming here bring plenty of bug spray and watch the kids closely as the trail down is treacherous in places. Awesome waterfalls.
Tannery Falls, USA
Savoy , Berkshire County, MA , USA
Tannery Falls and the various other waterfalls and cascades in the general vicinity make up what we would like to call a section of waterfall country. Within a square mile, almost a dozen waterfalls, several worthy of their own pages in this guide, lie on the trail network at Tannery Falls. The main attraction, officially known as Tannery Falls, is an 80-foot series of tall plunges and curving horsetails. The upper 35-feet of this falls are a thundering curtain of whitewater, always impressive, even with little water flow. The bottom half of the falls is a series of narrowing horsetails that end in a shallow pool.

Tannery Falls
Hidden gem of a waterfall only a 1/4 mile mile from the house we rented from Sunset on the Bay Motel here in Munising. Just walk across the road and find the staircase up the hill into the woods. Trail is
challenging enough for adults, children would struggle. Wear lots of bug spray. Trails connect between the falls.

This waterfall is rated a 5 on a scale of 5 for waterfalls in the New England area. The location is in the Savoy Mountain State Forest, Berkshire County, MA. We had a heck of a time getting here as hurricane Sandy washed out the road to which we were directed. Read my blog for more details on this adventure.
DnSAdventures - Exploring Wahconah Falls State Park in Massachusetts
This was a fantastic park in Massachusetts to enjoy a beautiful brook with a waterfall! Although it doesn't look to be a designated trail, we ended up hiking along side the brook for a little bit and there are quite a few smaller cascading falls further up the hill.

Tannery Falls in Spring 2011
Tannery Falls is located in Savoy MA, which is NW Massachusetts. Real backwoods, no paved trails or cellphone service. I'm told it's pretty spectacular in the fall
Crow Hills, Leominster State Forest, MA
My first hike of November 2014 was an approximately 3 mile walk in the Leominster State Forest in Westminster, MA. I did a loop over Crow Hills, a 1,234 ft. monadnock in that town. I started from a parking area off MA 31 and took a fire road to the Crow Hill Trail passing underneath some impressive cliffs. Then, I took the Midstate Trail to the ledge viewpoints, doing a short bushwhack to the true summit en route. After seeing those, I made a steep descent back to the fire road.
