Taoyuan Airport MRT Line serves as the extension to the national gate –Taoyuan International Airport. It is also a symbol of an advanced country to provide travelers with reliable, convenient and high-standard transit service. Passengers can enjoy a different spatial experience during the ride from the diverse sceneries, landscapes, and stations along the line. This project can further extend to the development of neighboring cities, and stimulate the economy to improve the surrounding environment and prosperity.
The Ministry of Transpor tation appointed Taoyuan City Government, in compliance with the Mass Rapid Transit Act, to be responsible for the system operation. Mutually funded by Taipei City (10%), New Taipei City (28%) and Taoyuan City (62%), Taoyuan Metro Corporation is established on July 6th, 2010, complying with the Mass Rapid Transit Act, “Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Act, and Company Act, to handle the planning and operation of Taoyuan Airport MRT Line. At present, the construction of Taoyuan MRT green line (Taoyuan Bade District to Dayuan District) is still under planning.
To facilitate the project of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Access MRT System to start operation, Taoyuan City Government was appointed by the Ministry of Transportation on September 1st, 2009 as the local authority of the project.
EXPRESS TRAIN
The top half of the front-end is coated in purple, whereas the headlight and tail light covers are colored in black, to create a high-contrast front guard. The color purple is extended from the front-end to both sides of the train and slowly fading out to light purple, which portrays a speedy streamline when the train is in motion. The stripe below is painted in purple with the logo of Express Train, so passengers can easily identify the Express Trains.
The seats are placed in 2*2 configurations with the front and rear of each car in symmetry for easy access to flight information, news, and advertisement LCD board. Moreover, there are 4 sets of face-to-face seating available to passengers for multiple options.

COMMUTER TRAIN
The top half of the front-end is coated in blue, while having the headlight and tail light covers colored in black. The color blue is extended from the front-end to both sides of the train and gradually turning to light purple. The stripe below is painted in blue with the logo of Commuter Train, so passengers can easily distinguish the Commuter Trains.

IN-TOWN CHECK-IN SERVICE INTRODUCTION
In-Town Check-In (ITCI) service is a useful supplementary service for travelers. In other words, the airport check-in counters are extended to the downtown area, where the Taipei Main Station (A1) acts as a miniature airport for travelers to check-in, drop-off baggage, confirm seat assignments, and obtain boarding passes in advance. The Nations which have In-Town Check-in (ITCI) service are KORAIL Airport Railroad in Korea, Airport Express in Hong Kong, China, and KLIA Ekspres in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia etc..Taoyuan Metro Corporation now becomes one of the ITCI service providers as the symbol of a Nation's progression.
Passengers can not only complete their check-in procedures earlier but also enjoy a comfortable and convenient ride. For foreign travelers, this service releases them from the burden of baggage before heading to the airport, so they can carry on with their business matters or shopping at ease. It helps to improve the attractiveness of Taiwan for sightseeing. In addition, local travelers for pleasure or business may complete check-in procedure in advance to properly arrange their own time.

This Taipei Airport Arrival footage is filmed from the disembarkation of our flight (a China Airlines Flight from Amsterdam Airport), through the walk to the arrivals area. We then show you how to catch the MRT Train to the Taipei City Centre (Taipei Main MRT Station).
The video begins with us disembarking our China Airlines flight. You the viewer then follow us through Taipei Airport (Taoyuan Airport - 桃园机场) as we make our way to first the Passport Control / Immigration Area, then the Baggage Collection area and then after finding out that our baggage has not arrived we make our way to the Lost Baggage Counter. We then pass through Customs and just after that we find a currency exchange booth where we can exchange our US Dollars to the Taiwan Currency which is called New Taiwan Dollars. We then make our way through to the Airport Arrivals Area from where we proceed to get information about Airport buses, Airport Trains and Taxis. We choose to take the MRT Train into the Taipei City Centre (Taipei Main Station). We then show you how to find the Airport MRT Train and which ticket to buy for the ride into Taipei City from Taoyuan Airport (Taipei Airport). We purchase a Taipei EasyCard and the train ride to Taipei Main Station from the airport costs 160 Taiwan New Dollars per person. We then ride the MRT Train from Taipei Airport to our destination Taipei Main Station and there we end off this video.
We found Taipei International Airport (Taoyuan Airport - 桃园机场) to be very modern and easy to navigate. There were plenty of people to ask for help had we been in doubt. We purchased our MRT Train tickets from the train ticket sales office and the salesperson spoke good English.

I ride the newly opened Taoyuan Airport MRT or Purple Line going to Taipei Main Station to renew my passport.
From Dayuan station to Taipei main station takes about 50mins.
If you're going to Zhongli you need to proceed to Platform 1, and Platform 2 if you're going to Taipei.
It's more convinient if you have an Easy Card.

The airport opened for commercial operations in 1979 and is an important regional trans-shipment center, passenger hub, and gateway for destinations in Asia. Formerly known as Chiang Kai-shek International Airport, it was renamed on 6 September 2006 to its current name. It is one of two that serves Taipei; the other, Taipei Songshan Airport, is located within city limits and served as Taipei's only international airport until 1979.
