Tasmania is full of fantastic, fresh produce. One of the growers of this produce is Tim Barbour, owner of Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company. As part of our Flavours of Tassie series, Tim talks through the history of the company and the wonderful products they make and sell - all using home-grown Tasmanian ingredients.
Tim will be on board Spirit of Tasmania in May, letting passengers sample the delights of The Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company's products. Tim will give passengers the chance to try the full range of products as well as dishes they have prepared, all of which are made using fresh Tasmanian fruit.
The Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company is not to be missed during your visit to Tasmania. A Sunday drive to Evandale Markets !
Passing through Launceston Airport on the way and with a little train ride towards the end.
The Evandale market is a popular country market in historic Evandale near Launceston Airport in Tasmania’s North.
Come and be a part of one of Tasmania’s favourite markets with over 100 stalls, including a wide range of wares from high quality crafts to bric-a-brac for every budget. There are also plenty of food stalls and children’s amusements.
Evandale is a lovely Georgian village with well preserved cottages, houses, churches, inns and shops. It is a great place for browsing in antique galleries and art and craft shops. The Launceston airport lies between Evandale and Launceston. You can also visit other historic towns nearby including Longford and Westbury. A short drive into Launceston will offer you a host of street-side cafes, boutique shops and leafy city parks.
The market is open every Sunday from 0800 to 1400. Evandale is located just 15 km south of Launceston.

Evandale - Historic Town | Discover Tasmania
Evandale is one of the best preserved historic towns in Australia. Its late-Georgian and early-Victorian buildings and relatively untouched streetscape offer a unique glimpse into Australia's past, with some buildings dating back to 1809. During February the town hosts the National Penny Farthing Championship, drawing enthusiasts from across Australia and the world.

Beautiful Aerial Views of Sunny Country Tasmania - Morven Park, Evandale
Just a quick test flight using my Smartphone's FreeFlight 3 app for visual navigation. What a great day for flying! Sunny, no breeze to speak of, just a nice aerial circuit of Morven Park, used for cricket, Aussie Rules footy and school events.
Penny Farthing Time Traveler!
Here, in Historic Evandale, Tasmania, they play host to the World Penny Farthing Bicycle Championships yearly!
