Tasmazia & the Village of Lower Crackpot | Discover Tasmania
He grew up wanting to own a maze so he built one of the world's biggest. He had a passion for architecture so he built a miniature village called Crackpot.
Tasmazia, a maze complex, model village, Cafeteria and Gift Shop in Promised Land, north-west Tasmania. Promised Land is situated 15 km south-west of Sheffield and 40 km south-west of Devonport. Tasmazia has a total of eight mazes. You can lose yourself in the Great Maze (one of the world's largest botanical mazes), the Hampton Court Maze, the Yellow Brick Road Maze, the Hexagonal Maze, the Cage, the Irish maze and the Confusion Maze and test your co-ordination on the Balance Maze. Explore the Village of Lower Crackpot, a fanciful artwork in the form of a small-scale village. Visit the recently-opened Embassy Gardens, containing sixty buildings dedicated to over 40 countries. You can also indulge yourself in the self-serve Cafeteria and browse through the Gift Shop for locally made crafts and clothing, many exclusive to Tasmazia. Tasmazia is a family fun filled experience for people of all ages. It prides itself on being politically incorrect Our visitors say they love the signage throughout the mazes. Tasmazia has been devised and built on a former dairy farm, which was later converted to lavender.

Tasmazia & The Village of Lower Crackpot
THE MAGICAL WORLD OF TASMAZIA...
is a crazy complex located in the wonderfully named Promised Land in the heart of Tasmania's beautiful Cradle Mountain and Lakes District.
Tasmazia includes 8 mazes, featuring The Great Maze - at the time of planting the world's largest - as well as The Village of Lower Crackpot, a whimsical model village built to 1/5th scale, Embassy Gardens, a self serve Cafeteria, Gift Shop, Lavender Farm, and ever present views of majestic Mount Roland.
For many of us, getting lost when on holiday is something we try to avoid, but it's totally exhilarating at Tasmazia!
And don't think we're a theme park just for kids, Tasmazia has a great range of attractions to offer the entire family!

A day at Tasmazia & the Village of Lower Crackpot in Tasmania
Tasmazia, known as Tasmazia & the Village of Lower Crackpot, is a great family day out or day trip activity just out of Devonport in Tasmania. We visited to spend time exploring the mazes, riddles and displays, ate at the cafe and had a lot of family fun.
More info on our blog:
We arrived in Tasmania on the Spirit of Tasmania, and after a night in Devonport our very first destination was Tasmazia. It is billed as the world of bizarre, the unusual and a fascinating journey. We certainly weren’t disappointed! Tasmazia & The Village of Lower Crackpot was a lot of fun for the whole family.
Approximately a 40 minute drive from Devonport, after exiting the CBD you will find yourself on a number of winding country roads taking you all the way to Tasmazia. It was really well signed, but we found Google Maps extremely accurate during our trip of Tasmania by cabin & car, in terms of both time and direction. We were using Gofar to track this trip and it was amazing accurate the whole way.
Upon arriving at Tasmazia entry is through the gift shop and onsite there are plenty of picnic tables as well as a café selling coffee and hot food and snacks. We took a packed lunch and sat in the sun halfway through our visit. You can get a stamp which allows you in and out of the mazes, which are all interwoven across the site.
Throughout there are quirky sayings, riddles and jokes, which really helps with navigation. Heard that joke before? You’ve probably been there before! The boys really enjoyed hunting for some of the hidden items or worlds like the home of the three bears, Jack and Jill’s hill and more.
The Village of Lower Crackpot was a highlight for our boys, feeling like giants walking amoungst a miniature town. Around the corner we entered the united nations, with all major nations represented with their own embassies. There were a lot of jokes for young and old alike.
We were so glad we made this our first stop, the kids had a ball, as a family we really enjoyed it and it was a great first stop in Tasmania on our tour of Tasmania by cabin and car. After spending half the day at Tasmazia, we headed off towards Cradle Mountain.
