Thanks to Expedia for partnering with us on this video and making our Tasmania road trip series possible.
Jess needed to head back to Australia to have her 12 week Ultrasound so as we awaited the results we had a bit of time to spare so we decided to finally head out to Tasmania, the little island off the coast of Australia.
First up we flew into Launceston to pick up our car rental and hit the road as we made our way towards Cradle Mountain National Park.
There we checked into Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge:
Our time in Cradle Mountain included heading into the national park, having warm fires and hot chocolates as well as heading into the Tasmanian Devil reserve.

Who was John Watt Beattie? Forgotten Tasmania Episode 1
Who was John Watt Beattie?
He had a controversial museum in Hobart but it wasn't MONA.
He photographed Tasmanian wilderness but he wasn't Peter Dombrovskis.
He saved the Gordon River from logging but he wasn't Bob Brown.
He saw a Tasmanian Tiger and no one doubts his evidence.
Forgotten Tasmania shares the wonder of Tasmania with the world.
John Watt Beattie left a legacy. He started a passion for Tasmania that is still burning more than one hundred years after his death. His photographic collection gives us a view of Tasmania’s wilderness, industry, our people, both those that arrived in the last 200 years and those that were here before; our indigenous, convict and colonial ancestors.
These photographs are an extraordinary window into our past, they can take us back in time
and show us how things have stayed the same or changed with the ebb and flow of history.
We are Tasmanian, these are our stories.

Spirit of Tasmania - Flavours of Tassie Showcase McHenry and Sons
Australia's southern-most spirit distiller, McHenry and Son's has long been contributing to the 'spirit' of Tasmania. Located in Port Arthur on the Tasman peninsula -- McHenry's is famous for producing premium whiskeys, vodkas and gins.
As part of Flavours of Tassie on board Spirit of Tasmania, William McHenry will be offering sample tastings of his sought-after range of spirits. While you're enjoying the rich and sophisticated flavours, William will regale with his tales of creating his liquid gems and what drives him in his craft to delight drinkers of fine spirits from all over.
He invites Spirit of Tasmania passengers to visit the McHenry and Sons distillery and observe the environment in which the spirits are created. The distillery utilises the crystal clear waters of five natural, nearby Mount Arthur springs in the distilling process. The water seeps through volcanic dolerite rock and drips through a sandstone base where it's filtered through a layer of sand. The result of this intricate process is world-class whiskeys, vodkas and gins as pure as they are palatable.
Book a trip today on the Spirit of Tasmania and ensure you stop by McHenry and Sons distillery, 229 Radnor Road, Port Arthur, Tasmania.
