The Tata Steel Zoological Park in Jameshedpur is an unkempt zoo which houses wildlife in its natural habitat.
The park gives a respite to people with long and tiring jobs in the city and makes them see and experience nature and wildlife in their most pristine form.
The Zoo is located inside the Jubilee Park. There is a safari park in the zoo, in which the tourists can take a ride through the zoo and witness the wild animals in their natural habitat.
Carry a hat and dribble some sunscreen on.
Tata Steel Zoological Park was opened for visitors on 3rd March, 1994 - the foundation day of Tata Steel.
The zoo is spread over an area of 37 hectares interspersed with wooded area and manicured lawns and gardens.
It is a park where we can find many types and rare species of animals like big cats, elephants, monkeys, hippos, lions, tigers and cheetahs etc. some other main attractions in the spot are butterfly garden, jungle safari, diversity of animals, lake, canteen, boating and much more.
There are also facilities like washrooms, drinking water taps, information centre, Kiosks and restaurants etc. Are also available at the zoo.
There is also a sarovar named Jayanti Sarovar which runs along the length of the Zoo offering a scenic view.
Entry fee is so cheap with tickets for 3 adults being Rs. 90.
It is basically a zoo where you can watch animals and can enjoy boating inside the park. Children can have a great fun here, as there is a small park inside the zoo. Tiger, lion, Leopard are some of the star attraction of the zoo. You can seat near the lake inside the zoo.
The main objective for creating a zoo in Jamshedpur was:
To provide a place for recreation, education, research, conservation and captive breeding of birds, animals, reptiles, aquatic animals etc.
To create a natural environment for birds, animals and other creatures where they can live in simulated natural conditions and without any fear for their lives.
Tata Steel Zoological Society (TSZS) is a non-profit conservation organisation, committed to further ex-situ conservation of wild animals through its Zoological Park, namely Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP) in Jamshedpur. TSZP today, is tackling a diverse range of issues with regards to captive animal health management & rehabilitation, conservation breeding and wildlife awareness through education programmes.
The mission of the Zoological Park is to provide natural habitats to various animals suitable for their conservation and propagation and act as a facilitator to spread the message of nature conservation by awareness and educational programmes.

Jubilee Park is a park located in the city of Jamshedpur in India. It is a popular destination for all those who wish to have an outdoor picnic, enjoy some outdoor activities and games or even just to have a relaxing day out with friends and family. Popular amongst joggers and cyclists, it is a gigantic park, recreation centre, fountains and a zoo, amongst other attractions.
