One of History's Mysteries: Tateyama Air-raid Shelter, Nagasaki, Japan
On Aug. 9, 1945 Nagasaki Gov. Wakamatsu Nagano called a meeting of his closest advisors in the Tateyama Air-raid Shelter to discuss the recent atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Legend has it that he had a feeling that the city of Nagasaki would be next and that he wanted to discuss the evacuation of civilians from the city. Nagano had just finished speaking when suddenly - at 11:02 a.m. - the lights went out in the shelter. They started to light candles when they heard a loud noise. This was followed by intense light... Nagano was too late; the atomic bomb had just fell on the city, killing 80,000 people...

이번에는 특별한 곳에서 다테야마 연봉을 볼 수 있는 곳으로 갔다. 비가 갠 해안이란 뜻의 아마하라시 해변 바다와 산을 동시에 볼 수 있는 곳이다. “바다 위에 산이 떠있는 듯한 느낌입니다” 도야마만 위로 2천-3천미터의 다테야마 연봉이 떠있다. 달력 사진에 빠지지 않는 장소이며 신혼부부가 기념사진 찍는 장소로 인기가 높은 곳이라고 한다. ”바다와 2000미터의 산이 함께 찍힐 수 있는 곳은 세계에서 3곳밖에 없어요.” “어디 어디입니까?”“잘 모르겠지만 어딘가 두 곳과 여기 한 곳. 이건 진귀한 경치에요 보기 어려워요 해변에서 저렇게 높은 산이 보이는 곳은 별로 없어요.” 아마하라시 해변은 이 바위에서 지명이 유래되었다고 한다. 옛날에 요시쯔네라는 사람이 소나기를 만나자 그의 부하가 이 바위를 들어 올려 비를 피했다고 해서 생긴 이름이다.

Tateyama castle is said to be a castle in the south of Chiba prefecture which was built in 1680.
It was demolished in the 18th century, after that it became a park.
The current building is a simulated tower, and the inside is a museum.
