Kuala Lumpur | Cheapest Airport Transfer is Grab App
When I travelled to KL for the first time in 2016, it was recommended that I take the airport train to Sentrul and then hop into a taxi to reach the city. Thankfully I learned quickly that using the Grab app is actually the best, cheapest, and fastest airport transfer for KLIA, KLIA2, and Subang Airports from downtown KL. They have a fixed rate for GrabCar to KLIA and KLIA2 at 65 Ringgits (plus tolls if you go that route, which I recommend at less than RM 10 from KLCC). And for Grab Premium, the posh sister of GrabCar that offers up BMWs, Mercedes, Audi, luxe vans, and others you'll pay RM150 to/from KLIA/KLIA2 and just RM 50'ish to/from Subang Airport.
Pro Tip:
As a solo traveller, it may seem like the train is an affordable option but it can be a pain in the ass. In fact, it can end up being the most expensive and time consuming option if you're not staying relatively close to KL Sentral. I did it once and that was enough for me, especially considering the amount of gear I lug around.

The KLIA Main Terminal Building (MTB) is located in between the two runways. The floor area of the terminal covers 390,000 m2 (4,200,000 sq ft) and the building consists of 39 square roof units, which enables future expansion of the building. There are a total of 216 check-in counters, located in 6 different islands, identified by the letters A – M (excluding I). Multi check-in services are available, designed for the use of all passengers arriving, departing or in transit. Self check in facilities are available in this airport since 2007,[20][21] and KLM was the first airline to use the Common-use self-service kiosks.

The contact pier is an extension of the main terminal building with gates marked with prefix A and B for domestic departures, G and H for international flights. The 176,000 square metres (1,890,000 sq ft) satellite building accommodates international flights departing and arriving at KLIA. Passengers have to travel to the satellite building via the Aerotrain. There is a wide array of duty-free shops and prestige brand boutiques in the satellite building. This includes international brands such as Burberry, Harrods, Montblanc, Salvatore Ferragamo. Among all international labels available within the terminal, some boutiques such as Harrods are only available in the airport. A number of restaurants and international airlines' lounges are available as well as an Airside Transit Hotel.
Within the terminal, wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is provided free of charge. The terminal also has prayer rooms, showers and massage service. Various lounge areas are provided, some including children's play areas and movie lounge, broadcasting movie and sport channels.[22] The terminal also features a natural rainforest in the middle of the terminal, exhibiting the Malaysian rainforests.

Under Malaysia Airports Berhad retail optimisation plan, the retail space in satellite terminal A will be further optimised to increase its revenue derived from commercial space rental and a percentage of sale receipts to 50% by year 2010 which currently stands at 35%. Some notable improvements that will be seen after the refurbishments will be the Jungle Boardwalk[23] which will be the first of its kind in the world and larger mezzanine floor to accommodate F&B outlets and viewing galleries.[24]

Arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia (how to arrive) and riding the KLIA Ekspres train to the city center KL Central. We have just arrived on a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok at Kuala Lumpur International Airport KUL Malaysia´s main international airport. This video shows you the viewer (the traveler) a real time view of what it is like to arrive at Kuala Lumpur Airport. The video begins with us (Maxi and Maro) disembarking our flight and walking through the passenger bridge from the aircraft into the Kuala Lumpur Airport Terminal.
Once in the terminal we have to find the correct direction to walk so that we can pass Immigration, visit the Baggage Collection Area and pass through customs. We quickly find the arrivals direction we must walk through the airport and on the way we pass some Duty Free Shops and Restaurants before we arrive in the main terminal departure area. From the Terminal Departure Area we find the driver less Kuala Lumpur Airport Shuttle which drives us from the Satellite Terminal to the main Airport Terminal. Kuala Lumpur Airport calls this train shuttle service between terminals the Aerotrain and it takes approximately 2 minutes to drive between the two terminals. Once we arrive in the Main Airport Hall we quickly pass through Immigration after which we make our way to the Airport Baggage Collection Area. Once we have collected our luggage we pass though the Airport Customs area and find ourselves in the Arrivals area where we head over tp one of the currency exchange counters to exchange money before buying our tickets for the KLIA Ekspres (The train between the airport and the city). The KLIA express drives between Kuala Lumpur International and KL Station (the main train station where you can make connections to other trains).
