Hey guys, trying to simplifying the taxi situation in Mauritius and finding a solution.
Thanks to everyone that help me understand the taxi situation in Mauritius.
2016-07-11 - Place Margeot - A Taxi problem...
Woke up yesterday with a terrible headache, didn't go to work because of that, ( i did do a few urgent work stuff at home though)... but this afternoon, still a bad headache, but I needed to do 3 things:
1. buy food,
2. get some parcels at the post office,
3. exchange a faulty battery at arcades Sunnasee in Rose Hill...
.
Simple quick task you'd say... nopes not so much... after picking up stuff at the Rose Hill post office, I realised there was no place to park the car cause to get to the Sunnassee parking I would have to go all the way out on the royal road and come back... so I just parked in an empty space near the bus station...
.
But that got me into an argument with taxi drivers, as soon as I parked there, they honked and they insisted i move my car even if i would only leave it there for 5 mins. But I wasn't in any taxi demarcation spot... So I took out my camera and did a bit of filming... I told them I would film what they say, and one of them said Let him do it... then asked me to take a photo of my car too...

Finally the argument lasted more than the time I actually took to exchange the battery... i didn't take 5 mins... and when I got back I told them How long did i take? Is that what you couldn't give me?

Nando Bodha, ministre de tutelle, faisait partie du comité ministériel qui s’était penché sur le sort de ces chauffeurs. Le comité avait émis une série de recommandations. Cependant, déplore la Federation of Hotels Taxi Association, toutes ne sont pas appliquées ou alors pas comme il le faudrait.
Atma Shanto, syndicaliste, prévient : si après le Budget, qui sera présenté ce 8 juin, aucune amélioration n’est notée, une opération escargot n’est pas à écarter. Celle-ci pourrait alors paralyser la capitale.
