Wagner: Tristan und Isolde from Teatro dell’Opera di Roma
Andreas Schager, Rachel Nicholls, John Relyea, Michelle Breedt, Brett Polegato, Rainer Trost, Choir of Teatro Opera of Rome
Orchestra of Teatro Opera of Rome, conducted by Daniele Gatti
staged by Pierre Audi
This production of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, directed by Pierre Audi, has received high acclaim in Paris and Rome. “Pierre Audi is one of the few directors who works with Wagner by subtraction, imagining the story in a minimalist dimension, out of time, abstract: … Don't miss it.“ (Il Messagero). „The Orchestra of Teatro Opera of Rome proves with this interpretation that it is one of the best opera house orchestras in Europe.“ (KlassikInfo.de) “Ecstasy, emotion and effect unleashed by Daniele Gatti at the podium of the Orchestra was overwhelming.“ (News.at). “Excellent Andreas Schager as Tristan, vocally strong Rachel Nicholls as Isolde.“ (KlassikInfo.de)
“Brilliant! Gatti is a supreme Wagnerian, gloriously aware of all the kinesthetic requirements. Schager is convincing, Nicolls among the great Isoldes I've heard. If your ambition is to increase your understanding of Tristan, beg, borrow or steal a ticket.” Jack Buckley, SEEN AND HEARD

Italian opera is both the art of opera in Italy and opera in the Italian language. Opera was born in Italy around the year 1600 and Italian opera has continued to play a dominant role in the history of the form until the present day. Many famous operas in Italian were written by foreign composers, including Handel, Gluck and Mozart. Works by native Italian composers of the 19th and early 20th centuries, such as Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini, are amongst the most famous operas ever written and today are performed in opera houses across the world. Sofia Coppola's La Traviata - Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
This opera combines two nations - a tragic French love story accompanied by the stirring score of Italy in the form of Guiseppe Verdi.
Coppola, renowned for the sumptuous backdrop in her movie Marie Antoinette, excels once again in this, her first stage production. The stage sets are simple but stunningly evocative and the costumes, designed by Valentino, complete this opulent creation.
La Traviata directed by Sofia Coppola was performed at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma from 24 May to 30 June 2016 with costumes by Valentino and a cinematic release in July 2017.

Fabbrica Opera Makers
FABBRICA OPERA MAKERS vuole favorire la trasmissione alle giovani generazioni del saper fare artigianale del teatro musicale all’italiana, aprendo una finestra sul futuro;
