Welsh Food - 4 Things to Eat Taste Test in Cardiff, Wales
Join us at Y Mochyn Du pub in Cardiff, Wales as we explore Welsh Food for the first time sampling 4 different things to eat in this taste test. We started off with local Welsh beer and tea while ordering two different starters, a main dish and dessert to share between the two of us. The 4 different food items we tried were as follows:
1) Cawl (traditional Welsh soup)
2) Welsh Rarebit (melted cheese on sliced toast)
3) Faggots, gravy, mashed potatoes and peas
4) Rhubarb Crumble (sweet dessert with fruit)
All of it was delicious and to be honest the starters were the size of mains and we ended up feeling rather stuffed by the end of the meal. The portions at this pub are very generous.

Welsh Food - 4 Things to Eat in Cardiff, Wales travel and cuisine video transcript:
It is lunchtime here in Cardiff and we found a little pub that is called Y Mochyn Du I think. Welsh is a very complicated language. We've been here like almost a week and we haven't really tried Welsh food yet aside from Welsh cakes so we're like alright it is time to see what Welsh food is all about.
We've been sick and haven't been doing a whole lot.
We ordered two starters, one main, dessert, Sam got a pint. We're going to be sampling all things Welsh. Welsh food. All of it is local this is basically a Welsh food taste test.
Alright Sam, so I'm starting off with a pint. A pint. So this is I think uh Cwrw Y Mochyn Du. This is the local red ale beer and I'm so excited to try this.
And we think Cwrw means bore. It has a picture of a black pig. This is really nice beer. It has that kind of like craft beer taste.
Well, well for our appetizer we're starting off with the National Dish of Wales. We are having Cawl and when Sam ordered this he was like I'll have a bowl of Cawl.
This is kind of like a soup. What is here? Slash stew. I was reading about it online and it can have different ingredients.
So the classic usually has lamb and leeks but it can also have beef and potatoes, carrots like different seasonal vegetables. So yeah, this one has potato and carrots. I don't know if this is lamb or beef yet.
Okay, what is your appetizer? So next up we're having Welsh Rarebit. Not rabbit. Rarebit. Rarebit. I can assure you there is no rabbit in here. No rabbit. Basically it is kind of it looks like a gourmet piece of toast with cheese and bacon. Cheese melted over top.
It can be cheese or a cheese sauce apparently. I'm not sure if it is cheese or a cheese sauce. It could be maybe it is both. And it came with a little side salad and something to dip I think. I'm going to dip it in.
That is so good. The cheese is like it is really it has like kind of a creamy consistency. Mmmm. It is so tasty. You know I read that sometimes it can have Béchamel sauce.
Going in for the Welsh Rarebit not rabbit. Look at the cheese it is just melting off.
The main dish has arrived so this is Welsh Faggots and mushy peas and we have two giant like these are minced meat balls and apparently they have um lamb in them. Over here you can obviously see the mushy peas, you can see the mashed potatoes. Lots of onion gravy.
We were asking the bartender what is the most typical dessert we could order at a Welsh pub? And he was like Rhubarb crumble.
Anyways, on to price point. In total that came to 26 Quid and that included the two drinks, the pint. And the tea. The two appetizers which were more like mains. The main which was like a massive main and then an enormous dessert to share. It was 13 per person and we're leaving very full, very satisfied and we really enjoyed Welsh food and we would highly recommend you to try all of these dishes if you're visiting Wales.

10 Things to do in Cardiff, Wales Travel Guide
Join us from Cardiff, Wales as we cover 10 things to do in Cardiff city including popular attractions, cool castes, green escapes, and Welsh food worth trying in this travel guide. Although we were sick for most of our visit to Cardiff, UK we ended up still finding enough time to visit the city center, our neighborhood and a few off-the-beaten path attractions.
What we loved most about Cardiff, Wales is just how friendly the locals here are in the supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and cafe that we frequented. On a rainy day we might put on the kettle, down a few Welsh cakes and pop open our umbrella for a wee stroll. When it was sunny, which fortunately for us was most of the time, we enjoyed exploring castles and arcades while wandering around in parks.
Cardiff is a city you appreciate the more you linger. You start to find favorite cafes, restaurants and pubs you return to frequently and after a while you feel more like a local after recognizing faces in and around your neighborhood. This is what we'll remember most and why we recommend visiting Cardiff which is a city with more of a town vibe.

10 Things to do in Cardiff, Wales Travel Guide Video Script:
Well hello hello from Cardiff, Wales. New destination for us. New destination. It is our very first time to Wales and we're so excited to be here. We've wanted to come to Wales for a really long time and we're going to explore Cardiff and show you guys what you can do here in this travel guide.
We started our visit of Cardiff Castle with a self-guided tour of the Castle Apartments. This is the newest-looking part of the castle as it was renovated in the early 19th century in the Gothic revival style. As part of the tour we got to see the Banqueting Hall, the Library, and a few different rooms, but the place that really caught our attention was the Arab room designed in a Moorish style which is quite different from the rest of the rooms.
We continued on to the Norman Keep, which dates to the 11th century. The 12-sided structure sits atop a hill and is surrounded by a moat, and if you climb to the very top you get some nice 360 degree views of the city.
And lastly, we visited the roman walls, and although these too have been renovated, the foundations date back to 50 AD.
And that’s it for our visit to Cardiff, Wales. Our trip was short and sweet but we hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do in Cardiff on your own visit. Now you know the drill, if you have any other suggestions of cool things to do in and around Cardiff, feel free to share those with fellow travellers in the comments below. Wishing you happy travels!

Welsh Cakes Taste Test in Cardiff, Wales
Come join us as we snack on Welsh Cakes in this taste test from our rental apartment in Cardiff, Wales. After being lured into Fabulous Welsh Cakes by a free sample we decided to buy all of our Welsh Cakes from this shop in downtown Cardiff.
Fresh from the griddle they make home-made traditional Welsh cakes and variety of different flavors that change by the day. We picked up all that they were offering and then grabbed a scone from the closest grocery store.
Welshcakes combined with afternoon tea and a bit of jam (unfortunately no clotted cream) made for the perfect snack before dinner and we had no problem finishing them all off.
Welsh cakes (Welsh: picau ar y maen, pice bach, cacen gri or teisen radell) originate from Wales and have been devoured since the 19th Century. In terms of ingredients, traditional welshcakes are made with flour, butter (or lard), milk, eggs, currants, spices, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Welsh Cakes Taste Test in Cardiff, Wales travel food video transcript:
Hello and welcome to our cozy little AirBNB here in Cardiff, Wales.
Since we are traveling in Wales we figured we should introduce you guys to Welsh Cakes (picau ar y maen). And these little baked goodies are really really tasty. The other day our AirBNB host came knocking on our door and he was like here guys I brought you some Welshcakes (pice bach) and we were like awesome.
And they did not last long let me tell you. They did not. It was like a little pack of six or eight and we devoured those right away. I think we finished them within less than 6 hours.
I think it was a matter of minutes to be honest. I just gobbled mine up with tea. Um but yeah today we were walking around town and we walked past that was handing out samples and I was like ooh. Those look good. Yeah, wasn't it called Fabulous. Fabulous Welsh Cakes. We tried some of their samples and they were so tasty that we walked right in on the spot and bought a whole bunch. And they're right across from the Castle outside of the arcade.
The store is located in the Castle Arcade. Right and they sell these, you can buy a little box, or you can pick them out individually for 50 pence. Yeah, so we got 3 different kinds. They had traditional, they had white chocolate and vanilla and they had almond so that is what we'll be sampling. Something to keep in mind that they told me when I was paying is that uh everyday they have the original one. On the other days they switch up the special ones. The flavors change so I imagine on some days they have like chocolate chip.
Welsh Cakes (cacen gri) can be made with flour, butter or lard, currants, eggs, milk and spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg. And sometimes instead of the currants you can actually get raisins. Those are the main ingredients. In the past, I would have said scones were number 1 but having tried freshly made Welsh Cakes (teisen radell) I'm addicted to these at the moment.
And something that I want to point out too is that you can get them from a specialty shop like we did or you can also just find them in convenience stores or grocery stores. Just look for where there is a bread section. You will find them in there in packages. Track down Fabulous Welshcakes and maybe go like several days in a row to try their different flavors and see which ones you like best.
These Welsh Cakes just make a fabulous snack. You could turn them into a meal. You could have them anytime of day. I have a feeling the best time to try them would be on a cold rainy day with hot tea.
They pretty much makes the perfect snack of little meal here in Wales. If you're traveling in Wales definitely try the Welsh Cakes. We're going to sign off here from Cardiff, Wales. I am ending this off with my triple licorice tea.

Extreme Truck Driving In London, The Most Hostile Place To Drive A HGV In The UK
London is an extreme city to drive in any vehicle, never mind a 44-ton artic truck. in this example we do battle with busy central London traffic, avoiding busses and taxies whilst being cut up by cyclists and motorbikes with some road closures thrown into the mix, all whilst monitoring 6 mirrors, blind spots and the added pressure of meeting delivery times whilst sat in stationary traffic. But that's just getting to the delivery site, then you have the most ridiculous site entrances to negotiate, zombie pedestrians and lengthy unloading times regardless of whether your running to time or not. Then you have to do it all again on the return journey out of the city.
It might sound like I'm moaning but I actually quite enjoy the challenge with the hustle and bustle of driving in London, this video is just to make others aware of the challenges we face bringing goods into the city so shop shelves are full, building sites have their materials and essential services continue to function.
