Knights Templar : Temple Manor.
Strood, Kent. Temple Manor once used by the Knights Templar.
Although once surrounded by farmland, this ancient manor house now stands amidst an industrial estate. Nevertheless, a leafy garden provides a fitting setting for the property, and visitors willing to brave the built-up surroundings are more than rewarded with a fine medieval building - which also includes fascinating traces of wall paintings in the first floor hall.
Built around 1240 by the Knights Templar, the manor was designed to provide suitable lodging for dignitaries travelling between Dover and London. In the years that followed however, the building not only changed functions but on many occasions also hands, eventually falling into disuse and disrepair.
Thankfully though, following the end of the Second World War the site was sympathetically restored by the Ministry of Works, and now stands as an interesting reminder of the military and religious order that established it during the time of the Crusades.

Temple Manor In Kent
Love This Place
The hall was built about 70 years after the Templars had acquired the estate and was designed to provide suitable lodging for dignitaries travelling between Dover and London. A kitchen range and other service buildings would have been part of the complex. By the early 14th century the Templars had converted the manor into a farm, which was rented out to tenants. In 1307 King Philip of France first seized the possessions of the Templars, whose wealth and influence had made them unpopular, and in 1324 the manor of Strood was formally ceded to Edward II. In 1336 Edward III gave Temple Manor to the Countess of Pembroke, and the income from it was used to endow an order of Franciscan nuns. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries, the property was granted to Edward Elrington in 1539. It passed through many hands and was eventually divided up. In the 1930s the city of Rochester acquired the remaining part of the estate for industrial development. The manor house became derelict and was restored by the Ministry of Works after the Second World War.

Exploring Abandoned Tudor Palace Ruins - (Short Explore)
So guys as you know I haven't done many properly abandoned explorations for a while, but the weather is completely out of my control (obviously) so hopefully next weekend when it's not as drab as it is now I will make a trip to Medway Kent England and go to see the remains of the German U-boat and take a look at the other bunkers and sunken ship ruins which also in the area, but since the explore is dependent on tidal times because the U-boat wreckage is only accessible when the tide is out and if it isn't, I will do a lot of exploring around a bunch of pillbox's in the Sevenoaks area, but anyways guys I hope you enjoyed the video and also be sure to check out Urbex Luca's channel which is further down in the description because that is also a great exploring channel which I highly recommended, so yeah guys see you next time, bye.

12 Days on the Delce Road. 4 years after my complaint 3 Delce Road Rochester KENT ME1 2ET
IT'S NOT JUST THE LITTER, BROKEN GLASS AND STINK OF THE URINE STAINED WALL AND FOOTPATH.... IT'S EVERY SHOUT, SCREAM, SMASHING BOTTLE, CONSTANT SWEARING, DRUG DEAL, DISCARDED NEEDLE AND CRACK PIPE. THE INTIMIDATION, THREATS, ABUSE AND BOTTLE THROWN AT MY HOME THAT THESE IMAGES REPRESENT AND THE NEGLIGENCE AND FAILURE OF MEDWAY COUNCIL.
August 2008 I complained and August 2012 it's still the same. Even after I was attacked at my home by a gang of anti-social thugs one armed and I had threats to kill made. Nothing has changed and the problems are still there. Only difference is that I lost my home, my health and nearly my life.
My complaint to Medway Council 8th of August 2008
The images start with the reply from my council as above and then the first set were taken on 17th of August 2012. By the 20th of August the council contractors had been and strimmed the grass along with the litter and left the strimmings that has strayed onto the footpath. When I cut my grass I strimmed the lower sloped lawn and afterwards made sure I cleared any clippings and swept the steps AND cleared the litter not only from my gardens but also the council owned land, footpath and steps.
All I ever wanted and all I ever expected was a quiet and peacefull life and the enjoyment of my gardens and local wildlife, nothing more, nothing less. What I got was years of negligence and failure by the council and years of abuse, bottles, cans and thugs urinating in my garden that Medway Council allowed to congregate outside my home. They knew it was happening and failed to act, even after the fith off-license opened on the Delce Road and two others on side streets adjacent to the Delce Road and another two at the bottom of Star Hill. How many Off-licenses does Rochester East need.....?
So my old home is up for sale again so maybe the new owner has suffered the same ordeal and wants out. I noticed them cleaning up the cans and bottles on the grass bank and steps recently on a Sunday afternoon. Maybe they should leave them and make a complaint to the council about the problems here...

Sutton Valence Castle
Sutton Valence Castle is a ruined medieval fortification in the village of Sutton Valence in Kent, England. It was built in the second half of the 12th century, probably by Baldwin of Bethune, the Count of Aumale. Overlooking a strategic route to the coast, the original castle probably comprised an inner and an outer bailey and a protective barbican, with a three-storey high keep on its southern side. It was passed into the Marshal and de Montfort families, before being given by King Henry III to his half-brother William de Valence in 1265, from whom the castle takes its current name. It was abandoned in the early 14th century and fell into ruin. In the 21st century the castle is managed by English Heritage, and the remains of the keep are open to the public.

It was a very hot day..but I till managed to do the 6.5 mile stretch of the Pilgrims' Way between Westerham Hill and Otford. As I always seem to be saying, there are some tremendous views in the video including Chevening House (the Foreign Secretary's grace and favours retreat). The walk took place on Monday 26 June 2017.
