Let's Taste - The Moorooduc Chardonnay 2004 & Ten Minutes by Tractor McCutcheon Pinot Noir 2005 with
At the girlfriend's place for dinner with some friends, I opened a few wines from the cellar that originate from the Mornington Pensula wine region of Victoria. They are The Moorooduc Wild Yeast Chardonnay 2004 & the Ten Minutes By Tractor McCutcheon Vineyard Pinot Noir 2005, both under screwcap. Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions for wines I should taste leave me a comment. Like this video and subscribe to my channel for more videos like this.

Let's Taste - Main Ridge Estate Chardonnay, The Acre and Half Acre 2014
Main Ridge Estate make my favourite wine in the world, the Half Acre Pinot Noir. Theirs was one of the first cellar doors I ever visited, back when I was still learning about wine. I visited a few months ago, I think just after the estate had been sold, bought some current release bottles and also placed an order for the soon to be released 2014 wines. I opened the three for the first time to see what they present, and perhaps give me an idea how long I should keep them.
Let's Taste - Head Nouveau 2014
Alex Head was my guest on Episode 68 of The Vincast wine podcast (link below), and so I was thrilled when my girlfriend brought home a bottle of his 2014 Nouveau and decided to open it up and share my impressions.

Is Pat's Easy Change the Best Hook Up for 3 Point Implements?
One of the things everyone seems to hate about a tractor is the difficulty in attaching rear implements on the three point hitch. Especially if you're new to tractors, getting everything perfectly lined up so the lower link arms go around the pins can be a frustrating and time consuming job. So anytime someone comes up with an easier way to hook up an implement, I want to know more.
My neighbor, Chuck, bought a new tractor this spring and it didn't come with extendable lower link arms. He was complaining about how hard it was to attach his brush hog and blade and so we decided to try a quick hitch. We ordered it this summer and posted a video. I just couldn't give it my wholehearted endorsement. It worked great on his blade, but his brush hog was a little wider so the quick hitch wouldn't work on it at all without major modification. It's now sitting in my barn.
After I posted that video, several people mentioned that Pat's Easy Change was a better way of hooking up implements. A few weeks ago I contacted the company about doing an evaluation. They're really nice people and they sent me a set a couple of weeks ago and we put them on neighbor Chuck's tractor this past Sunday.
Pat's Easy Change works great for quick hook up. Chuck and I gave it two thumbs up. It's based on the eagle claw design that you see on a lot of the bigger farming tractors. It's basically open at the top so you get under the pins of the implement, then raise the three point and your lower link arms are connected. A locking mechanism keeps the pins from jumping out of the cradle during field operation. There's a stabilizer bar included that holds the tractor's lower link arms at the correct width while you're backing up that makes everything work really slick.
We installed the Pat's Easy Change on Chuck's tractor in under 15 minutes with me filming and a very limited amount of tools. I had misgivings about how snugly they'd fit, but with the spacers, which are provided, the jam bolts, and a unique U-bolt design that holds everything in place, they're rock solid. It's a very nice design and I think Chuck will be pleased with it. I'm considering ordering a set for my tractor, even though I have extendable links. This system is much quicker. I have a slightly used quick hitch for sale.
The only complaint I have is, you still have to get off the tractor seat to connect the top link. But, if you're hooking up a PTO driven implement, you'd have to get off to connect that, so it's really not a big deal. Once you have the lower link arms attached, the top link connection is easy.
The folks that make Pat's Easy Change agreed that if I gave the product my approval that I could become a dealer for them and sell the system on my website. I sure think it's a winner! If you'd like to purchase what you see in the video, go to this link: You will need to know if you're tractor is category I, which has 7/8 lower link ball holes, category II, which has 1 1/16 lower link ball holes, or category III, which has 1 7/8 ball holes, before ordering. Most tractors will be category I.
Why no company has offered tractors from the factory with an easy hookup like this is beyond me. Every tractor need's Pat's Easy Change to make implement changes a breeze.

ThaiSunset - Thailand Takuapa Khao Lak Puket - Retirement Residence on Palm Oil Plantation
Robert is an Australian businessman who 'escaped' to Thailand for 'retirement'. Rob avoided Isan, where many of the Expats' new wives are from (see my book, Lady of Isan, also translated into German and Italian at ThaiSunset.com or Amazon.com) by building a spacious Australian home at Takuapa 1,000 km away on the Andaman Sea in Southwest Thailand -- cool, picturesque, on a mountain stream, but still in the tropics. Khao Lak, the holiday resort on the ocean, is 20 minutes away, Phuket a scenic drive of just over one hour.
The French impressionist painter, Claude Monet, would have had a field day here, adding misty mountains and a river to his series of water lilies, London Bridges and Parliament Buildings. Morning fog and dew hiding the mountains, the light and moods changing every hour , flocks of white cranes flying over the river in the evening... you can set your watch by it... in a regular flight pattern like jets on autopilot, day after day. Nature all around you. You don't get that in Chiang Mai, Pattaya or Phuket. Rob found it.
He has 30+ acres in oil palms for income... prices are rising in tandem with the food and energy indexes, and the currency Thai baht has been very stable . Locals want to buy his property, never mind the great house he built, featuring 400 square meters living area incl. garage, a guest suite, a powerful solar energy system, his own private fresh water wells... and what great drinking water rich in vital minerals it is! And the scenery. And virtually not a soul in sight; highly unusual for Thailand! But still only 10 minutes away from restaurants, shopping, a regional hospital, cross-country public transportation, river fishing, ocean fishing villages and... the Andaman Sea of the great Indian Ocean with its sandy beaches and crystal clear water! The world-famous scuba-diving paradise of the Similan Islands is only a few miles off-shore!
A businessman's property is always for sale if the offer is right. Still, the price is still only a third of what it would be in Australia, Canada, the US, Western Europe, Australia or NZ. In three to four years from now , having enjoyed it all around, Rob intends to sell the farm and place and move on to a new project, possibly in Northern Thailand, Burma, or who knows when and where. That's just the type of guy he is. Never to rest, but enjoying himself fully as he moves along.
Enjoy the show, and do add your comments or contact me. My commission among friends on the sale is only 3 ½ percent... plus an evening on the town. It's all there.

How To Replace a Water Pump and Save $783
Water pump replacement DIY. Learn how to replace a water pump at home using common hand tools. I was able to easily replace this water pump in under an hour and saved $783.
Replacing the water pump on many cars is not difficult and this is a perfect example of an easy to replace water pump. You could do this entire job without any special tools and I spent under $60 in parts which is unbelievable after getting the $843 quote from the Jaguar dealership. I will also do a video on a more difficult water pump so you can see what is involved in that as well.
