One of my favorite looks always takes me back to the pinups know as Mexican Calendar Girls as well as the actresses from the golden era of Mexican cinema which I grew up watching with my grandparents. I hope you enjoy! ❤️ FYI - when creating the bun in the back once you pull it through just start pulling the hair to make it to your desired length (my camera decided to take a break mid way ☺️).

Inspired by the #PachucaStyle ✨ (Pachuca/o was a subculture created by Mexican youth in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Pachucas were the female zoot-suiters (males zoo-suiters were called pachucos) who rebelled against social conventions. The origin of the term is unsure, one popular and well-known theory is the name originated from El Paso, Texas which was a popular town for migrant workers. Referred to as “Chuco Town,” the migrants that came from the town to Los Angeles were called pachucos. via Museum Of The City). Also, I've been getting questions about my curly/wavy hair routine so of course, I combined them. I hope you enjoy ????!

MEXICAN HOT SPRINGS IN MOUNTAINS!! Tolantongo!
Three hours drive north of Mexico city is Grutas De Tolantongo.
-- How to get here --
We flew into Mexico city, rented a car and drove up there. It's a pretty easy drive once you get passed Mexico city traffic and madness. I also got car insurance just in case.
On Google maps, search for 'Grutas Tolantongo', and you will find the area. Once you get to the gates, you pay the entry fee (140.00 MXN per person) - in cash. Ask for a map, which will show you where everything roughly is. I show the map in the video too.
Once you past the gate, drive down all the way to the main car parking spot (in the video, that is where I show the map on the board. Look at where the pin is dropped).
-- What to take --
Take the following:
- CASH! There is no ATM, so take enough cash with you for entry to the park and also food and drinks.
- Water shoes. It doesn't matter if you don't have any, on your drive up there, there are many many shops selling them with big adverts on the side of the road. They should be about 5 to 20 USD, depending on quality.
- Waterproof case for phone. You need this to take pics, but also because the light will be VERY useful! Read the what to do here, and you'll see why.
- GoPro etc with floaty! The current is strong at some places, so if you loose it, at least you can find it again.
- There is food and water there to buy.
- If camping, then all your camping gear. However, we did see some pre-setup tents that you can rent! So maybe you won't need a tent. The camping area is right next to the water, bring some rope so you can make your own drying line.
- There are lockers at the pools and at the caves. So you can take stuff with you, and leave them in there. You'll need cash for the lockers. It's 50 MXN per locker (+50 MXN deposit).
-- What to do here --
Three things that I have to recommend you do:
1 - The caves. After parking at the main car park, it is a 10 minute walk to the caves. You can't drive to the caves. The caves itself are amazing, and you don't need a light. However, once you enter, don't forget to look on the right hand side at the back of the cave! You will see an opening and a strong current. There is a rope on your right hand side, turn on your light, grab the rope and go in. The roof is PACKED with bats!! but it's a cool experience.
Then once you come out of the main gate, there are steps to your right, going up the mountain. There is another cool little cave that you can go into. Again, light is needed, and there is one spot where you have to pull yourself up using a rope that's already there.
2 - The river. Once you have done the cave, go down to the river. Side note: you will see there is a wooden bridge that you can cross and it'll go into more pools, but that is extra and you'll have to pay. Down to the river. It is not very deep.
3 - The hot pools. There are two sets of hot pools. One is on the mountain itself and the other ones are in the jungle. The jungle ones are very quite, but you can see why as the hot pools in the mountain have the amazing views! There is also food and drinks here too.

What is PATIO PROCESS? What does PATIO PROCESS mean? PATIO PROCESS meaning - PATIO PROCESS definition -
PATIO PROCESS explanation.
Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under license.
The patio process is a process for extracting silver from ore. The process was invented by Bartolomé de Medina in Pachuca, Mexico, in 1554. The patio process was the first process to use mercury amalgamation to recover silver from ore. It replaced smelting as the primary method of extracting silver from ore at Spanish colonies in the Americas. Other amalgamation processes were later developed, importantly the pan amalgamation process, and its variant, the Washoe process. The silver separation process generally differed from gold parting and gold extraction, although amalgamation with mercury was also sometimes used to extract gold.
Bartolomé de Medina was a successful Spanish merchant who became fascinated with the problem of decreasing silver yields from ores mined in Spanish America. By the mid-sixteenth century, it was well known in Spain that American silver production was in decline due to the depletion of high-grade ores and increasing production costs. The New Laws, prohibiting the enslavement of Indians, had resulted in higher labor costs as miners turned to wage labor and expensive African slaves. These higher production costs made mining and smelting anything but the highest grade silver ores prohibitively expensive, just as the availability of high grade ores was in decline. Bartolomé de Medina initially focused his attentions on learning about new smelting methods from smelters in Spain. He was approached during his research by an unknown German man, known only as Maestro Lorenzo, who told him that silver could be extracted from ground ores using mercury and a salt-water brine. With this knowledge, Medina left Spain for New Spain (Mexico) in 1554 and established a model patio refinery in order to prove the effectiveness of the new technology. Medina is generally credited with adding magistral (a copper sulfate) to the mercury and salt-water solution in order to catalyze the amalgamation reaction. However, some historians assert that there were already sufficient copper sulfates in the local ores and that no additional magistral was needed. Regardless of whether or not Medina's contribution was entirely original, he promoted his process to local miners and was able to obtain a patent from the Viceroy of New Spain. As a result, he is generally credited with the invention of silver amalgamation in the form of the patio process.
Silver ores were crushed (typically either in arrastras or stamp mills) to a fine slime which was mixed with salt, water, magistral (essentially an impure form of copper sulfate), and mercury, and spread in a 1-to-2-foot-thick (0.30 to 0.61 m) layer in a patio, (a shallow-walled, open enclosure). Horses were driven around on the patio to further mix the ingredients. After weeks of mixing and soaking in the sun, a complex reaction converted the silver to native metal, which formed an amalgam with the mercury and was recovered. The amount of salt and copper sulfate varied from one-quarter to ten pounds of one or the other, or both, per ton of ore treated. The decision of how much of each ingredient to add, how much mixing was needed, and when to halt the process depended on the skill of an azoguero (English: quicksilver man). The loss of mercury in amalgamation processes is generally one to two times the weight of silver recovered.
