Cycling 70km Across 6 Islands In Japan | Shimanami Kaido Travel Guide
Shimanami Kaido is one of Japan's most famous cycling routes connecting the main island Honshu with Shikoku.
Ever since I heard about this bikeway a few months ago, I knew I had to travel there some day to experience it for myself!!
So, I packed up my bags, bought a Shinkansen ticket and took a spontaneous trip down to Onomichi, Hiroshima.
Shimanami Kaido Bikeway runs between Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture and Imabari in Ehime Prefecture, hopping across 6 islands of the Seto Inland Sea.
You can start your journey from either the Hiroshima side or the Ehime side. I started from the Hiroshima side because the views get better and better as you go along towards Ehime.

KBlog Special (Tsushima Island) Part 1
First off, let me say if you're wondering what information I used to get on the Island and places to see please look in the description box for further information. It's really hard to find information about this place in English, so I'll give you the info that I used.
I went during Korean Thanksgiving. So I booked a ticket online. I have heard though you can go in person and buy your ticket. When I was onboard there was a lot of empty seats.
I had a blast on this trip. There will be more videos. I will post them as soon as I have time.
The tourist information center in Hitakatsu when I went (Fall 2015) had no English Speakers or guide information. So it's best if you know Korean or Japanese and get your information from online and print it!
The bus schedule is online in the Main Tourist Information link I provided, but if you don't read Japanese good luck with that! I had no clue! lol
For accommodations they don't have any websites (as of fall 2015) in English for you to make a reservation. You can wait and try to find a place when you arrive, but you might not get the best options then. I used the ssanhotel website to make a reservation. However, you need to know Korean. NO ENGLISH! ㅠㅠ

Hope you enjoyed this little summer throwback vlog! My best friend Rachel flew all the way to Japan back in July 2017 to visit me and since Franny and I were both on our summer break, all three of us decided to go on a day trip!
We didn't want to go anywhere too expensive so I did some research and found a town nearby called Yokosuka! They had lots of good food and cute shop and we were even able to take a boat ride for 1,000 yen to a small island nearby called Sarushima!
I hope you enjoyed watching us explore the area!

神奈川県横須賀市の秋谷海岸周辺の上空から見た長者ヶ崎、立石、天神島の景色です。
海の色がエメラルドグリーンでとても綺麗で、湘南海岸の中では穴場スポットになっています。
海に垂直に立つ立石とせり出した岩場（梵天ヶ鼻の松）が面白い景観を作っていて、その眺めを楽しむために明治時代には葉山御用邸の皇室の御茶寮が設けられていました。
現在は散策が出来る公園となっています。
遠くに富士山が見える絶景の地でもあり、江戸時代には浮世絵師の安藤広重や葛飾北斎が訪れ画題としています。
天神島は浜木綿（はまゆう）が咲く北限の地で、笠島とともに美しい自然環境が保護されています。

It is the view of Choujagasaki, Tateishi, Tenjin Island from the sky above the Akiya coast in Yokosuka city in Kanagawa prefecture.
Tateishi(standing stone) of Akiya coast is famous and popular sightseeing spots in Japan.
The sea color is very beautiful with emerald green, and it is a sightseeing spot on the Shonan coast.
Tateishi standing perpendicular to the sea and protruding rocky place (Bontengahana pine) are creating an interesting landscape and in the Meiji era the Imperial Tea Dormitory of the Hayama Imperial Villa was established to enjoy the view.
It is now a park where you can take a walk.
It is a landscape with a magnificent view where Mt. Fuji can be seen in the distance. So, in the Edo era, Ukiyoe artist Ando Hiroshige and Katsushika Hokusai came and took on the theme.
Tenjin(Heaven and God) Island is the northernmost area where Hamayuu blooms, and the beautiful natural environment is protected along with Kasashima.

Japan Off The Beaten Path: Autumn In Akita Prefecture | Japan Travel Guide
Japan Off The Beaten Path is a new series on my channel, where I show you more of the unknown areas/prefectures in Japan and encourage you to travel and visit areas other than the common places such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
In this first episode, we visit and explore around Akita Prefecture in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu, the main island of Japan.
I came here during Autumn(end of October), which is the perfect time to come to see the autumn foliage!

As for transportation, it takes 4 hours to get from Tokyo station to Akita station via the Akita Komachi Bullet Train.
It costs around ¥17,000($160 USD) however if you have the JR pass you just have to pay the small fee of the reserved seat on the Shinkansen(all seats are reserved).
Or if you are going up to Hokkaido or coming back down from Hokkaido, you can change at the Shin-Aomori station and take the local JR train down to Odate station.
Going back to Tokyo from Shin-Aomori station is also possible by taking the Hayabusa bullet train. (Around ¥17,000)
Even though Akita is in Japan, each prefecture is so unique in it's own way - I learned so much from this trip and could see a different side of Japan.. I hope to share this kind of Japan more and more with you through my channel :)

Right before the Snow storm we recieved here in Tokyo on Feb 1st 2010. We got into red hot plugging suzuki action on Tokyo Bay. Fish were feeding on surface and we're getting bites on every other casts. Average size were about 24 and biggest was about 33. Not bad at all. We mostly used minnow shaped plugs but we also caught some on topwater plugs as well.

Are you planning a trip to Japan in 2017? Looking for things to do in Japan? Kyoto and Osaka are great locations for a short trip in Japan, however they are extremely touristic locations. In this video I tell you my Top 5 Places to visit in Japan!
I've been to Japan twice, for 3 weeks and 5 weeks, therefore I was able to visit a wider variety of locations for longer - I appreciate not everyone is able to do this. However, if you do have time, I would recommend considering the following areas! Forget Kyoto and Osaka! (but of course, Tokyo is a must!).
Here's First World Traveller's JAPAN TOP 5!
Nagasaki - Japan can be a daunting country to visit. Nagasaki is an ideal location to get your bearings - it's a small city possible to walk around or get the Nagasaki tram for 160 yen. Things to Do in Nagasaki include the Atomic Bomb Museum and Hypocenter, Mount Inasu and Gunkanjima (Battleship Island).
Kawaguchiko - Locates to the north of Mount Fuji close to Fujisan, Kawaguchiko is the ideal location if you want to spend more than just a day trip from Tokyo, in the Fuji area. Visit Mount Fuji, Aokigahara Forest or even climb Mount Fuji!
Kobe - Things to Do in Kobe are awesome! Nunobiki Falls, Cherry Blossom close to Shin Kobe station, the Disaster Reduction Institution (learn about the story of the 1995 Kobe Earthquake), Chinatown, and of course sample Kobe Beef!
Takayama - Located close to the Northern Japanese Alps (Hida Mountains), Takayama is small town Japan at it's best, with a fantastic Old Town, Morning Markets, Shrines, various walks and of course the amazing hida Beef, which you can try in the form of burgers, sushi, skewers, ramen and many more!
Aso - Want to visit a Supervolcano? Aso is located on Kyushu, probably my favourite area of Japan, easily accessible from Kumamoto, Nagasaki or Fukouka. Stay at Aso Base Backpackers, and visit Mount Aso itself, one of the world's largest and most active supervolcanos. Another thing to do in Aso is visit the Aso Volcano Museum - AWESOME!

Fukuoka Road Trip - Americans First Onsen & Dog Cafe! - Japan Trip Episode 12
We made it to Fukuoka and met up with my Japanese YouTuber friend Koichi. He took us on a road trip to some cool spots outside of the city. Plus we got to go to the Shiba Inu cafe, so many cute dogs! It was nice to travel in a car and not have to worry about trains and buses, and with Koichi knowing the language, it was so much easier for Shawn and I.

Enoshima Beach (16 July 2017) Fujisawa, Kanagawa japan
Enoshima is a small island off the Shōnan coast of Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture. It’s known for the Enoshima Shrine, with statues honoring Benzaiten, the Buddhist goddess. It's also home to the Enospa hot springs and the 19th-century, English-style Samuel Cocking Garden with its Sea Candle lighthouse. The Iwaya Caves feature tidal pools and Buddhist statues. Popular mainland beaches overlook the island.

What a beautiful countryside. I am looking forward to seeing more of this area that is surrounded by mountains and water.
