What better place to feel alive than surrounded by death?
Every day hundreds of mortals gather at the Bangkok’s Teochew Chinese Cemetery near Sathorn Road to sweat, run, picnic and play, surrounded by hundreds of old tombs.
Most know the place as Pa Cha Wat Don (graveyards of Wat Don). A burial site for Chinese immigrants at the turn of the 20th Century, the cemetery was opened in 1900 by the Teochew Association of Thailand.
Some of those immigrants are said to still haunt the land.

HUMAN BONE FOUND in World's Weirdest Cemetery | Bangkok, Thailand
Hidden away in a sleepy suburb of Bangkok, Thailand is what is likely one of the weirdest cemeteries in the world. The Teochew Chinese Cemetery dates back to the early 1900s and became one of the most feared places in Bangkok for the many ghosts said to wander through the gravestones. While exploring the cemetery we found some pretty strange things including a gym, karaoke stage and human bones. Read more about this haunted place:

HAUNTED Bangkok Cemetery at Night | Creepy Paranormal Investigation
Hidden away in the vast and bustling city of Bangkok, Thailand sits a strange and extremely haunted cemetery. The Teochew Chinese Cemetery dates back to the early 1900s, fell into disrepair and has been newly renovated into a public park. Supposedly, the changes to these burial places have disgruntled the spirits, causing them to rise from their graves and haunt the cemetery. Watch as I explore the cemetery at night and investigate the many claims of the paranormal in the area. Read more about this haunted cemetery in Bangkok:

THAILAND: MASS CREMATION OF THE REMAINS OF BANGKOK'S POOR
English/Nat
Buddhists set fire to stacks of bones on Monday in a mass cremation of Bangkok's poor - 21,347 people in ten days.
The cremation was organised by an ethnic Chinese benevolent association that holds funeral rituals for the unclaimed bodies of accident victims and the poor.
Two-thousand worshippers came to pay their respects, believing it was a joyful rite sending Bangkok's most wretched to a better afterlife.
A macabre pyramid of gilded skulls waiting to be set alight in a mass cremation.
Buddhists set fire to stacks of bones on Monday to clear cemeteries of the remains of Bangkok's poor.
Pickups and army trucks transported the remains of 21,347 people last month to the new crematorium in Samut Sakhon, 25 miles south of the capital.
A pyramid of hundreds of skulls was erected before the crematorium last week in preparation. Each was decorated with gold leaf.
Celebrants knelt and prayed, made offerings of food and spattered scented water on the bones.
Coins that had been placed in mouths of now-desiccated corpses for good luck were removed before the bodies were put into the flames.
The benevolent association, Po Teck Tung, sends rescue crews to accidents.
The living are taken to hospitals and the dead to a central Bangkok cemetery.
Poor people who cannot afford funerals also sometimes leave bodies of relatives with the association.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
Today the Po Teck Tung Foundation organise a cremation for around 20-thousand dead bodies. These dead bodies are homeless people collected in the last ten years

The remains of thousands of other people were treated less
ceremoniously.
Femurs, clavicles, hips, ribs and skulls were stacked in hundreds of baskets near the crematorium, next to wood and coal used for kindling.
This current cremation is the biggest in the group's 86-year history and, some members claim, the biggest in the world.
The need became urgent when construction of a new freeway began on part of the association's cemetery.
Association members believe they gain Buddhist religious merit by taking part in disposing of such bodies.
The supreme patriarch of Thailand's Buddhists blessed the ceremony.
As the dead went up in flames, evil spirits were supposed to be chased away in what two-thousand worshippers believed was a joyful rite sending Bangkok's most wretched to a better afterlife.

Bangkok’s Khlong San district was a place of little interest to many Bangkokians and tourists, but not anymore due to the emergence of Lhong 1919, a Sino-Thai historical art centre. — Jetjaras Na Ranong.

Chinese Cemetery ???? Thai Wife Scared of Ghosts! ???? Chiang Mai
We visited a Chinese Cemetery in Chiang Mai, and my Thai wife was too scared to enter... She is totally afraid fo ghosts! ????
Located just 6km from the Mae Kuang Dam in Doi Saket, this is definitely not your ordinary cemetery. It features turtleback tombs, which are normally found in the coastal regions of China and Japan. The Chinese have brought some of their heritage right here to Chiang Mai!
