Ep. 120: Big Bend Ranch | Texas State Park RV travel camping
Last week we brought you to Big Bend National Park in West Texas. This week, we're still camping at Maverick Ranch RV Park in Lajitas, and we'll not only check out some of the beautiful remote property on this 27,000-acre private ranch and visit Terlingua Ghost Town, but we'll also head west from our campsite to see portions of Big Bend Ranch State Park, and the border town of Presidio.
FIlmed: September 23-October 4, 2019

ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

Vanlife in the Middle of Nowhere
Vanlife around Texas is a trip. There is so much to see, even though it takes a full day to drive from one city to another. We ride around Texas and find things like Prada Marfa, a Prada store in the middle of the desert, wild javelina, Terlingua ghost town, and more. Vanlife shows us how to break down in the middle of nowhere and meet some real Texas folk. Stay tuned for the rest of the story as we drive our van around Texas.
Location: Texas, USA. Prada Marfa, Valentine, Marathon, Terlingua

Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa
Welcome to a brief look at Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa located in West Texas. We invite you to come down, play some golf, and experience a very special part of this great state.
Black Jack's Crossing Golf Course is a Lanny Wadkins Signature Golf Course. Situated on 27,000 acres, along the Rio Grande, the golf course provides a challenge for all skill levels, and has some of the most beautiful panoramic views a golfer has ever experienced while playing the game.
The Golf Shop is housed in the Trading Post, a building built in 1899, named after General Black Jack Pershing. The building is now designated as a historical landmark (full of bullet holes). Also in the Trading Post is the Lajitas Longhorn Museum, the largest private collection of longhorns in the United States.
The Agave Spa at Lajitas is a great way to relax after a round of golf, or meet the golfers at the Thirsty Goat Saloon to have a beverage to settle the bets or claim bragging rights for the day. Then dine at the CandelillaTerrace with a balanced selection of offerings for everyone.
Lajitas is the perfect setting for corporate retreats and work groups. From the Executive Boardroom, the meeting venues are designed to accommodate the very small or medium-sized seminars. The Flat Rock Theatre is great for group presentations, with on-site technical support. Our Lajitas International Airport, five minutes from the resort, has a 7,500 foot runway which allows companies to fly corporate planes or charters direct to Lajitas.
Then relax in the evening in well appointed suites and rooms in the Cavalry/Le Cuesta area, the Officers Quarters or in the Badlands Hotel. Whatever your choices, Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa produces a spectacular backdrop for any event.
We hope you have enjoyed our quick overview of this marvelous resort. Click on the links below for additional information and to contact the resort directly to make your reservations for golf, tournaments, get-aways or corporate retreats.

Civil War meets present day at Glendale Cemetery 175th celebration
Our city's vibrant past came into close contact with its present, as Glendale Cemetery was re-dedicated as part of the cemetery's 175th anniversary.
Led by a color guard with Civil War re-enactors from the 29th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company G, Living History Association, a procession of mourners followed a beautifully ornate glass-enclosed horse-drawn hearse carrying an authentic coffin from the former Perkins Square (on West Exchange Street) to the Glendale gates. At the cemetery, hundreds of residents waited patiently to attend a commemoration event, moderated by Dave Lieberth, local author, historian and former deputy mayor.
The hearse was purchased by Akron's Billow Company funeral directors in 1892.For more about the event, visit the Akronist at akronist.com.
