How Scottish Twitter reacted to England’s World Cup exit
There was a range of emotions across Scotland on Wednesday night, from the moment Kieran Trippier put England ahead in the World Cup semi-final, to Croatia’s equaliser, Mario Mandzukic’s winner and the full-time whistle. From anger to relief to outright joy, if there is one thing Scottish football fans excel in it is schadenfreude. #ItsNotComingHome – the most defiantly funny Twitter reactions by England fans After all, little pleasure has been derived from the national team in the last 20 years...

STORYLINE:
Pro-government students and workers continued a vigil outside the US mission in Havana on Tuesday, holding signs of black-and-white photographs of people Cuba says have been killed in violence against the island.
Those taking part in vigil also blocked an electronic sign on the building's facade.
The 24-hour vigil began on Monday night when the Cuban government raised 138 huge black flags with a solitary white star.
The flags partially blocked a disputed electronic sign which screens news and human rights messages along the front of the US Interests Section.
The vigil was to end on Tuesday night with a concert, participants said.
At any one time there were 138 people holding vigil outside the seaside mission, changing places with new participants every 15 minutes.
We are here to show them, once more, that Cuba's students will continue our combat and we will continue fighting for our revolution, said Cuban school student, Juan Nemen.
Before the flags were raised on Monday, it was unclear what the Cuban government was planning with its mysterious construction at the site.
Late last month, Fidel Castro visited workers, who were expanding the Anti-Imperialist Plaza an area built several years ago to host protests against US policies toward Cuba.
Castro has labelled the electronic sign as provocative, and last month, he led a huge march outside the US mission to protest over its installation.
Although it's now more difficult to read from afar, the electronic billboard continued to screen messages on Tuesday, including one that read: The only thing that we want to provoke with our little sign is the free flow of ideas and voices.
America's top diplomat in Havana has said the sign will stay, despite protests from Cuba.

Lost: Because all we really need to survive is one person who truly loves us.. Penny's Letter..
Dearest Des,
I am writing this letter to
you as you leave for prison. And I've
hidden it in the one place you would
turn to in a moment of great desperation.
I know you go away with
the weight of what happened on your
shoulders. And I know the only
person who can ever take it off is
you. Sorry to be so dramatic, but
these are dramatic times, are they not?
Please don't give up, Des. Because
all we really need to survive is one
person who truly loves us.
and you have her. I will wait for
you. Always.
I love you, Pen
Penny had written Desmond this letter and hidden it in his copy of Our Mutual Friend, as she was aware it was of great importance to him, and that it would be the last book he would read before he died. She wrote the letter before he had been incarcerated by the Royal Scots Regiment and placed in what would be the one place he would turn in a moment of great desperation. Desmond later found the letter inside the Swan Station and it was reading this letter that made Desmond realized how bad his life had gotten. Desmond would later hear Locke banging on the hatch door, and this event restored Desmond's hope. (Live Together, Die Alone)
Lost: Desmond falls into a deep depression and contemplates suicide, Live Together, Die
Alone (2006)
Live Together, Die Alone is the second season finale of the ABC television series Lost, consisting of the 23rd and 24th episodes of the second season. It is also the 48th and 49th episodes overall. The episode was written by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, and directed by Jack Bender. It first aired in the United States on May 24, 2006 on the American Broadcasting Company. The episode was watched by 17.84 million people and received positive reviews.
In the episode, flashbacks reveal how Desmond came to the island. In realtime, Desmond unintentionally returns to the beach and is enlisted by Locke to help him stop the button in the hatch from being pushed. Meanwhile, several castaways head off to rescue Michael's son, Walt, from the Others.
Desmond Hume (Henry Ian Cusick) is being released from a military prison for unknown reasons. Upon leaving, he runs into Charles Widmore (Alan Dale) who reveals that he prevented communication between his daughter Penelope (Sonya Walger) and Desmond, while he was in prison, and strongly warns Desmond against attempting to reform a relationship. Desmond, wanting to prove that he is not a coward, travels to the United States from the United Kingdom to train for a race around the world, sponsored by Charles Widmore. He meets Libby (Cynthia Watros) in a cafe, and after a deep conversation, Libby gives Desmond a sailboat owned by her late husband. While Desmond is training, Penny tracks him down and angrily questions him. He tells her that he is determined to win Widmore's race and promises that he will return. However, while sailing, Desmond gets caught in a bad storm, and washes up on the island. He is rescued by a man in a yellow HAZMAT suit, Kelvin Inman (Clancy Brown) (who also is the American intelligence officer that blackmails Sayid in one of his flashbacks) who takes him to the Dharma Initiative Swan Station. The two live together for three years before Desmond finds out that Inman is secretly planning on escaping the island using Desmond's boat. Desmond violently confronts Inman about this, accidentally killing him in the process. After almost letting the countdown timer run down, Desmond starts drinking liquor and contemplates suicide. Before he shoots himself however, he hears John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) banging on the hatch door, and turns on a light. Desmond then realizes that there is still hope and decides not to kill himself.

Woodlands In Spring - Original Composition by Kerri Powles

AN APPEAL FOR FUNDS
My passion is my music, that I compose myself. At the moment I am using a very old Yamaha keyboard to arrange and compose my music (16 years old in fact) and I am constantly being told that I really should get myself a better keyboard to improve the quality of my music, in order to make them good enough to have them made into CD's, which I can then sell on to the general public. At present I have only made my own 'home made' CD's using the equipment I have at present, and many of those I have given away to Rest and Care homes, who have responded very favourable to them. One Care Home recently wrote to me and told me that they are using my CD in their therapy sessions, and are extremely happy with the response they get to my music! That in itself gives me the drive and passion to want to raise the funds I so desperately need for a new keyboard, if only to make people’s lives less stressful with peaceful music, that is of a good enough quality instrumentally. Yes of course I want to make a living out of my music, I would be lying if I said otherwise, but giving comfort and pleasure to others with my music is my number one aim in life. I feel I have a viable product to offer, and one that can, not only improve my life financially, but improve other people’s lives from a spiritual perspective, and has already proven itself to do so! Even my local Job Centre are trying to get permission from their Head Office to see if they are allowed to play my CD in my JB, as they have all heard it, and are trying their best to help me get somewhere with my music, that's how much they believe in me! I have sold the occasional Electronic Album and Track on Bandcamp, but most people want a physical CD, of which my homemade offerings just don't cut the mustard. I am appealing to the Public for Donations to help me save towards a Yamaha Genos Keyboard, this keyboard will enable me to greatly improve the standard of my recordings, of which I then intend to have made into professional quality CD's and covers to sell online, and in shops etc. I know there is a Market and a demand for my compositions, I just need help to realise my dream, and I am not too proud to admit that I do not have the funds to buy one, and I cannot do it without the help of you good people out there. If you are reading this, and want to donate something towards my efforts to raise money for my Yamaha Genos, then any amount, however small, will be very welcome, and greatly appreciated. Click on this link to give a donation. Thank you so much.

I have 4 electronic albums which can be purchased and downloaded from the following link: All monies raised by the sale of Albums and/or tracks will go towards the purchase of a Yamaha Genos Workstation, which will inprove the diversity and quality of my compositions. Many thanks.
Top Tips for a Greener Festival | Hubbub Vlog
Next week 150,000 revellers are going to be descending on a sleepy town in Somerset for Glastonbury, the big kick off to the U.K festival season. While the mainstay of a British festival is connecting with nature (getting rained on) and building community (helping drunk people out of mud) they can have a pretty big impact the space around them. Our resident vlogger Sarah is one of the happy number getting her wellies and tent ready for Glasto so she’s put together her top tips for going green this festival season.
