Had a cool opportunity to visit the Team Matco tent and pit area, along with the NHRA Top Fuel and funny car elimination and finals at The Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX for the Fall Nationals - 9/23/12.
The power, sound and feel is absolutely indescribable when these cars make a pass. If you've never experienced this kind of horsepower up close, you should really take advantage of the first available opportunity.

The 5th annual Texas Diesel Nationals was held on April 14th at the Texas Motorplex, Ennis featuring some of the fastest trucks in the world.
Elite 16 $50,000 Pro Mod Drag Race Shootout From The Texas Motorplex Saturday!
The Elite 16 Pro Mod Shootout presented by Mid-West Pro Mods and Elite Motorsports is on this weekend starting Thursday evening LIVE from Ennis Texas! The Lone Star State is famed for having the biggest of everything, and this weekend's racing is no different. This is the largest total purse at any Pro Mod event in history, with the winner taking at least $50,000 home for their troubles. Watch and enjoy it live!
Bear's GTO - First pass at Texas Motorplex
My first ever pass with the GTO. It went 12.723 at 109.85 mph through the mufflers. 60-foot time was 2.026. I could tell it was starting to run out of fuel at about half track. I needed to increase the fuel pump output pressure. Still, not bad for a maiden voyage. That's my son Ben in the other lane. We were celebrating his last night in the USA for awhile. He's gone to South Korea for a year to teach English.

While the NHRDA Diesel Nationals is primarily known as a coal burner event, there are a large showing of massively powerful big block truck and tractors that put on one helluva sled pulling show for the crowd. Classes at this event included Pro Modified Tractor, Super Modified 2WD and Super Modified Tractor. Collectively, the horsepower range soared north of 30,000!
