Thadikombu ~ Sri Soundaraja Perumal * Dindigul
Thadikombu, has been one of the abodes of lord Vishnuwhich has situated very near to Dindigul, within the reach of not more than 10 km. Here, the presiding deity has been, none other than lord Kallalagar, who has been called as Soundaraja perumal. Here, He is in sleeping posture, sayanam, that is, sleep with vigil.
This isthala has been featured, for having safeguarded the penance of a sage, called as manduga maharishi, who had been cursed as in the form of frog. As per the wish of the sage, lord Vishnu has been residing here as Soundaraja perumal. This temple has been weighed ,as equal as, to Madurai's Alagar kovil. It's said to have been built, before, more than 500 years, by the king of Vijayanagar Dynasty, who was called as Achutha Deva rayan.
One more contrary, that is, the shrine of lord Swarna Agarsa biravar has been here, as lord Biravar has been one of the 64 manifestations of lord Shiva, normally resides in all Shiva temples. A grand pooja has been conducting on every Theipirai Astamy,t hat is, on the 8th day, from full moon to new moon. It's believed that the bad debts could have been recovered by Him, for His devotees. Again this temple has been featured for its ancient artistic sculptures, for, having got its finest details within it.
People who are the victims of late marriages, could have done five consecutive poojas, on every Thursdays, to the god and goddess of love, called as Manmathan and Rathi devi, for their prospective marriage life.
