Thai Farm Cooking School - Chiang Mai
Today we learned how to cook Thai food at the Thai Farm Cooking School in Chiang Mai. They show you at their organic farm most of the ingredients you need to cook Thai food. It is one of the best cooking schools in thailand.
First stop of the day is a local market where you can buy all kinds of ingredients. And they teach you the basics about Thai Cooking.
Next stop is the farm where they grow most of the ingredients for the cooking lessons. They grow just for their own use not for resale. Everything is organic and they don’t use any kind of pesticides.
For example, we were greeted with fresh lemongrass tea that just has been cut in the garden.
First Lesson of the day the ingredients like, Eggplants, Bitter Eggplants, Ginger, Thai Ginger, Holy Basil and so on.
Unfortunately, most of those are hard to come by when you are back home, but fortunately for a lot of them there is a good alternative.
After the tour around the garden it’s time to start cooking. We had the following dishes:
Tom Kaa Gai
Pad Thai
Stir Fry
Red Curry
Bananas in Coconutmilk
Those are not the only dishes you can choose from. You can e.g. choose between Green-, Yellow- or Red Curry and whether you like it with chicken, shrimp or veggie.
So there is definitely something for everybody there.
The Dishes are very easy to cook and they help you with every step on the way.
You can check them out here
At the end of the Day you also get a Recipe Book from them where they explain all the ingredients and Dishes you cooked.
So in my opinion it’s worth every penny.
If you guys have any questions about the dishes or the Recipes don’t be afraid to ask in the comments below.

HOW TO COOK THAI FOOD || ORGANIC THAI FARM COOKING SCHOOL CHIANG MAI || TRAVEL THAILAND
We cannot recommend our Thai cooking class enough - look no further and book with Thai Farm Cooking in Chiang Mai ( and if you’re lucky you’ll have Wass as your teacher. I recommend avoiding these foods that we ate (raw) in Thailand on our cooking course in Chiang Mai. Some of the ingredients you use in soups and curries are there for flavour only, not for consumption… otherwise you might be in for a bitter, spicy, or peppery shock! Don’t make that mistake and ruin your meal!

Chiang Mai Cookery Class at Thai Farm Cooking School
A short video of our fun half-day Thai food cooking class at the Thai Farm Cooking School in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand.
The class started with a tour around a local market, then moving on to the organic farm where the cooking class is based. The farm is located in the countryside, 17 km away from Chiang Mai's city centre.
We took a walk around the grounds and saw many different kinds of organic herbs, vegetables and fruits that they proudly grow themselves. This was then followed by a lesson in making classic Thai dishes such as papaya salad, vegetarian spring rolls, tofu red curry, shrimp tom yum soup and mango sticky rice!
It was such great fun and the dishes we created were delicious! We hope you enjoy our video - take a look at our travel blog for more travel stories and tips:

Today's adventure brought to you by:
You can't visit Chiang Mai, Thailand without taking an authentic Thai cooking class! We had the opportunity to spend a full day at the Thai Secret Cooking School. Obviously we haven't been to every cooking school in Chiang Mai, but I can very confidently say the Thai Secret Cooking School is by far the best cooking school in Chiang Mai!
The day started with a trip to the local market to pick up ingredients that we would use during our cooking class. After that we took a short drive to the cooking school. The cooking is also an organic farm (and their lovely home!). So before we began our cooking class, we went out to the garden and picked ingredients like flowers and herbs to cook our delicious Thai food!
During the cooking class, we chose to learn to cook pad thai, spring rolls, Penang curry paste, Penang curry with pork, mango sticky rice, and other Thai dishes. May is the instructor that teaches the Thai cooking class. She has an awesome personality and makes everything so much fun! She definitely makes the experience even greater!
If you are visiting Chiang Mai, and you love food half as much as we do - Definitely go to a Thai cooking school. The Thai Secret Cooking School comes with our absolute highest recommendations! We had a blast!

COOKING CLASS CHIANG MAI - THAI SECRET COOKING SCHOOL | Thailand Travel Vlog 53
No trip to Chiang Mai is complete without taking a traditional Thai Cooking Class! Todays trip is all thanks to the best Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai, Thai Secret Cooking School - be sure to check them out to book your cooking class here: chiang-mai-cooking-school.com
Before we drove out to the farm in the rice paddies, the morning started with a trip to a traditional Thailand local market to buy the ingredients for the class. We then cooked a feast of Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Penang Curry, Chicken Coconut soup, Mango Sticky Rice - all prepared ourselves by making the curry paste and shredding the coconut. The reason we think this is the best cooking school in Chiang Mai city is partly due to the owner, operator and instructor, May. She was hilarious, informative and so lovely the whole day - just watch the video and you'll see how much of a joy she is, it's that special touch that makes the whole cooking class so much fun. Our cookery skills may have been a little average, but the food was still incredible and we highly recommend you take the course! If you do, say hello from Daneger and Stacey :)

Cooking Thai Food In Chiang Mai - Baan Farm Thai Cooking School - Things to do Chiang Mai
Looking for a different way to experience a foreign country? We were too, while in Chiang Mai Thailand, so we attended a Thai cooking class!
This episode is a little different than a regular day in the life, as we visited Baan Farm's cooking class in Chiang Mai, Thailand hosted by Ploy. She picked us up in the morning and got us on a privately hired truck to get the other aspiring cooks as well. In the Thai cooking class we each got to make five unique Thai dishes and socialize with some other travelers as well.
The cooking class was a great way to relax and spend the day as well as try authentic Thai cuisine. If you're looking for something to do in Thailand, or even in another country a cooking class is a great option. You get to learn first hand the ingredients that go into certain dishes as well as how it should taste made from scratch as everyone tends to have their different variations we have found. We even found out eggplants here are a lot like peas, who would've thought!
A special thanks to Ploy and Baan farm for having us. Ploy was a pleasure to learn authentic Thai cooking from and it really was a highlight for us in Chiang Mai. Their family farm above the pink tilapia was also a lovely setting.
Hope you enjoyed seeing some Thai cooking and consider trying a cooking class is looking for something do in any foreign country. It really does give you a little extra local flair and culture.
Until next episode everyone, hope you've all been well. And as always if you enjoyed the content we'd love to hear feedback in the comments or a like/subscribe! Cheers.

You know we love to eat, so today we've signed up for a cooking course where we're going to learn how to make some of our favorite Thai dishes. Right now we're at the local market, so we're just going to be walking around picking out some of the ingredients we'll need today for the class. Let's have a look.
Judging from the amount of cooking videos we make you'd probably think that we're constantly in the kitchen and that we always like to cook. That couldn't be further from the truth. Most of the time when we're on the road we eat out, so this is actually kind of an excuse to get into the kitchen and cook and to actually try and make food because normally we don't do that.
We have now arrived at the Thai Farm Cooking School. We drove about seventeen kilometers outside of Chiang Mai and it is a completely different world out here. We're just surrounded by nature and an organic farm. We're actually going to be picking a lot of vegetables from here.
We had a choice between doing the cooking course in the city or going out to the countryside and I think we've made the right decision.
Now clean rice already.
Please come inside. I would like you to pick by yourself the whole leaf basil.
I'm making my Yellow curry paste. Pound, pound, pound! Harder! Faster! Stronger!
So Sam is lagging a little behind right? Come on. Master Chef here - look at that. Perfection. No, I really am lagging behind, I better hustle up.
I'm making a yellow curry today. This is mine. This is what I created and Sam went for the green curry, so this is his. And I'd like to point out I don't think he did a very good job. Oh, that just fell in there. What is this? Whatever. Total chunks. You get an F!
Alright, oh! It's boiling! It is not supposed to boil.
We're making the Tom Yum soup. Mine is going to have shrimp and I've got my coconut milk here, so I'm going to be adding some ingredients - mushrooms, onions.
I'm ready to try fine creation. This is my Tom Yum with shrimp. Let's see. I made mine really sweet. I think maybe I put in to much sugar but it is kind of nice and creamy because I used coconut as a base. You need to add more salt or fish sauce then. Mine does need more salt. How is yours?
You look like a farmer drinking soup. I'm keeping this hat I swear. I'm quite happy with mine. I put quite a bit of salt in it and I also put fish sauce.
I'm making my Yellow curry now. I'm just stirring the coconut milk. I put in the curry paste I made earlier.
I was wrong about this dish. It is not a stir fried rice. It is just a vegetable stir-fry. It's really good. I made one with chicken and string beans and mushrooms and here is my yellow curry with potatoes and pumpkin. Is it good? Uh-huh.
We saved the very best for last. Here we have our favorite Thai dessert - Mango Sticky Rice - and it has some deep fried Mung Bean on top. It is crispy. This is going to be good. Alright, let's check out that first bite. It is nice and coconut-y and it is amazing.
So overall that was a really cool experience learning how to cook Thai food. I made five different dishes. I'm beyond full. Like I feel like I'm ready to hibernate now.
So this was 1100 Baht. It was like lunch and dinner and the thing I really liked about this particular school was that it was out in the countryside where we were able to get outside of the city and away from the pollution and whatnot and just have a really cool organic cooking experience:

Organic Farm Cooking Class | Chiang Mai, Thailand
Today is our first day getting out in Chiang Mai, Thailand! Technically speaking it is our 3rd day here but we both have been fighting off a bit of a cold so we spent the past 2 days resting.
We are so excited because today we will be taking a cooking class to learn more about Thailand's food culture.
We have booked a half day course through Smile Organic Farm Cooking School. They pick us up from our hotel in the morning and we drive around 40 minutes outside of town to their organic garden where the cooking class is held.
On the way, we stop at a local market. Our instructor takes us around and explains many of the different ingredients that are essential in Thai cuisine.
We continue on to the cooking school and after getting settled and selecting the dishes we want to make, our group takes a walk through the garden to pick fresh herbs and spices.
We have a great day cooking 5 different dishes. The food is all delicious and the experience is the perfect introduction into Northern Thailand.
