Thai Cooking Class in Bangkok | The best of Thailand | Pad Thai | Green Curry | Maria Maria
Hello Everyone!
Come with me to a Thai Cooking Class in Bangkok!
I booked my class online at

They have cooking classes all over the world and for a very affordable price. For this class I payed USD 53.00 for a private, roof top herb garden, 3 hours and 2 recipes.
Hom Cooking Club is actually a Hostel that's all about connecting people through cooking together. The guests there have cooking classes every night and are able to share their own recipes with the other guests. (Very interesting!)
Hom Cooking Hostel is located at Nana Square, on the 4th floor (5 minutes from Nana Station). You can contact them directly at
homcookinghostel.com
I highly recommend this place, I had an amazing time there, everyone is extremely friendly and you'll feel at home!

THE BEST Thai Cooking School | Chiang Mai Thailand
Today's adventure brought to you by:
You can't visit Chiang Mai, Thailand without taking an authentic Thai cooking class! We had the opportunity to spend a full day at the Thai Secret Cooking School. Obviously we haven't been to every cooking school in Chiang Mai, but I can very confidently say the Thai Secret Cooking School is by far the best cooking school in Chiang Mai!
The day started with a trip to the local market to pick up ingredients that we would use during our cooking class. After that we took a short drive to the cooking school. The cooking is also an organic farm (and their lovely home!). So before we began our cooking class, we went out to the garden and picked ingredients like flowers and herbs to cook our delicious Thai food!
During the cooking class, we chose to learn to cook pad thai, spring rolls, Penang curry paste, Penang curry with pork, mango sticky rice, and other Thai dishes. May is the instructor that teaches the Thai cooking class. She has an awesome personality and makes everything so much fun! She definitely makes the experience even greater!
If you are visiting Chiang Mai, and you love food half as much as we do - Definitely go to a Thai cooking school. The Thai Secret Cooking School comes with our absolute highest recommendations! We had a blast!

Thailand has a lot of amazing food to offer. What better way to cook Thai food back home!
I decided to take up a local cooking class in Thailand. It was one of the best decisions i've ever made! It was really easy with a lot of choices from cookly.
I booked a class with Silom Thai Cooking School and it was such a great experience! I learnt to cook a lot of Thai food in Bangkok. How cool is that!
It started with a quick stroll to the local market where we sourced the local ingredients. After that, it was off to Silom Thai Cooking School to start cooking!
They have different menus for the day. I chose the day where they taught Red Curry, Pad Thai, Tom Yum and Mango Sticky rice.
These are the classic Thai dishes that I wanted to learn so that I can cook them back home! After the class, they give you a recipe book so you can reference them back home.
After the class, I went back to the local market to buy local ingredients so I can bring them back home. We do not have keffir lime, keffir lime leaves, galanggal and thai red chillis.
These are the ingredients that make Thai dishes taste really authentic!
After the cooking class, i stopped by the hotel really quickly to put the ingredients in the ref so they store correctly for a long time.
I spent the 2nd half of the day exploring Siam again! This time, i visited 2 coffee shops and strolled along the mall.
If you are a foodie in Bangkok, experiencing a local cooking class is a must so you can cook authentic Thai dishes back home!

A lot of Thai:Home Cooking Class,Chiangmai ::By Thaipods.com
A lot of Thai
Yui (Siripen Sriyabhaya), Thailand's international TV chef, and her husband, Kwan, a graphic designer, are the creative engines running A lot of Thai home cooking class. Yui began teaching Thai cooking in 1999. Ten years later, she still teaches every dish in every class by herself to guarantee the highest quality of instruction. Her expertise attracts a variety of students such as, TV chefs, executive chefs, culinary school teachers, international Thai cooking instructors, food columnists, cookbook authors, tourists, and food lovers.
Established in 2001, A lot of Thai began with a maximum class size of 8 people. Even though their business has seen tremendous growth, Yui and Kwan have decided that this small class size maintains the personalization and individual attention that each student deserves. The success of their growth can partly be attributed to the power of word of mouth publicity.
Although Yui is highly skilled and very accomplished, her intent is not to show off her skills, but rather to humbly teach concepts of cooking. Her unique blend of art and science truly make cooking exciting, fun, and easy to follow. When students cook these delicious dishes in class, they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to be able to recreate these dishes at home.
So, what makes A lot of Thai unique?
• A lot of Thai is a 100% Thai owned business.
• They offer a variety of substitutions for vegetarians-- not just tofu and more tofu.
• Food can be served with brown rice.
• They support local grocery stores instead of chain supermarkets because they believe in sharing good fortune with their community.
• In class, students cook and eat each dish immediately to enjoy the maximum freshness while it's still hot.
• Students cook with the highest quality cooking utensils. No Aluminum pots.
• They value the importance of caring for the environment by always using cloth bags and their own containers for shopping--not just for the business, but in their everyday life.
• The classroom setting is a homey atmosphere in which each student is welcomed into Yui and Kwan's real home where 3 generations of their family still live together in the
traditional Thai way.
• A spotlessly clean cooking environment is a priority.
• Healthy cooking and cleaning standards presents a very hygienic setting-- No double dipping in the class.
• The market tour is very informative. Yui will explain everything even it's not using in
the class.
• Yui and Kwan creatively wrote and cleverly designed their own beautiful cookbook featuring delicious recipes with simple instructions, stunning imagery, and whimsical graphics. It is printed in full color and not photocopied or inkjet printed. A lot of Thai cookbook is published and can be found in book stores.
• Students are picked up by classic vehicles. The baby blue 1974 VW van and lime green 1967 Mazda 1500 will bring you back to your childhood or take you on a retro-cool trip.

Learn to Cook Your Thai Food Favorites in Our Bangkok Cooking Class!
Big news, we've launched our own Thai food cooking class for visitors to Bangkok!
Booking Details:
Come join us and make your Thai food favorites like:
Pad Thai
Thai Basil or Krapow
Pad See Ew
Khao Soi
and more!
For the past two years Courageous Kitchen has been having fun while teaching youth at risk the benefits of eating better, and learning not to fear the heat and the stress of the kitchen.
Now we’re inviting you into our home to learn your favorite Thai dishes too!
Each day begins with a tour of a classic Bangkok market. We'll buy fresh ingredients for the class and give you an opportunity to ask questions of the vendors in the market. This will be a delight for the senses, as there's plenty to see, smell, and photograph. Watch as coconut milk is freshly pressed, and as our noodle vendor slices up fresh rice noodles for our dishes of the day. The selection of fruit will make your head spin and if culture shock hasn't hit yet, the meat section just might do it!
We may stop by a few of our favorite street food stalls to see them in action, but then it's back to our quiet Thai neighborhood to cook up a feast. We'll start by explaining some of the uses for the many ingredients we gathered from the market. Then we cook and eat until you've eaten so much it's uncomfortable to move!
Best of all this is not the average Bangkok cooking class. We strive to keep our class sizes small (6 or fewer) and are happy to customize the class to you liking. Have a special dish in mind? Curious about a certain street food? Let us know and we'll tailor the class to you!
Proceeds from this activity will go back into funding our activities feeding and educating at risk communities in Bangkok. We've got some ambitious goals stacked for our students who are quickly learning to out cook most adults! This activity is one way we'll be raising funds, but you can also donate and get more info at

THAI FOOD FESTIVAL in Bangkok! (Amazing Thai Taste Festival) - Hot Thai Kitchen
The Amazing Thai Taste Festival is a fantastic stop for foodies if you happen to be in Bangkok around this time! The festival has booths from all sorts of vendors: street food, restaurants, even a cooking school! And it has a stage with live cooking demo and performances (which was incredibly LOUD hence me yelling my way through this place! Sorry about that...).
It was actually not as big as I expected, which isn't a bad thing, because it means that you CAN realistically see everything in one evening. There are some seats and tables for eating there as well, but not much. It's hot though, so be prepared!
WANT TO GO NEXT YEAR? I think this is the first time they organized this festival so hopefully there will be a next year! This year (2017) it took place at the Makkasan Airport Link station around mid June. Location may change next year so definitely look it up! You can check out the Tourism Authority of Thailand website and Facebook page for more info on festivals like this.

Meet the UMAMI MASTER of Thai Food! | Northern Thai Food - Chiang Mai, Thailand
Go check out Hanuman:
SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week
T-shirts and caps:
During my recent trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand, I met up with my friend Hanuman Aspler, who is one of the most knowledgeable people I know when it comes to Thai food history and science.
I’ve known Khun Hanuman for many years, originally in Bangkok. But a few years ago, he bought a plot of land in the mountains of Chiang Mai, Thailand, and started developing it. I had been following his progress and he had even explained to me about what he had to do - turning a swampland into liveable conditions, and building a traditional, yet clean with a few modern amenities, Thai home on the site.
Introducing - Three Trees Doi Saket! A project, their home, and now, a Thai immersive cooking class - easily the most in depth and authentic Thai cooking class, likely in the world. Hanuman is not only a cook, but he’s a walking encyclopedia of Thai history, the stories behind each Thai dish, and a scientist who known how to break down each dish and ingredients and tell you why it’s included and what it does for the dish. It’s always an honor to hang out with Hanuman, and cook and eat, because I come away with so much more knowledge.
Today we cooked Khanom jeen nam ngiaw (ขนมจีนน้ำเงี้ยว), what is one of the most popular Northern Thai food. It’s one of the dishes that if you ask someone from Northern Thailand what is a dish they crave or miss (if they are living in Bangkok), they would likely mention khanom jeen nam ngiaw (ขนมจีนน้ำเงี้ยว).
Khanom jeen nam ngiaw (ขนมจีนน้ำเงี้ยว) is a Northern Thai, yet Shan style, curry eaten with soft rice noodles. We gathered all the ingredients for the Thai curry paste, and pounded them all.
One of the most interesting lessons in this Thai cooking class today in Chiang Mai was about umami. Tomatoes are one of the few naturally filled fruits with umami. So he used a variety of different shapes, sizes, colors, and even fired some tomatoes to give the dish a dimension of umami. Other unique ingredients in khanom jeen nam ngiaw (ขนมจีนน้ำเงี้ยว) are cotton tree flowers (ดอกงิ้ว) and fermented soybeans (ถั่วเน่า tua now).
I’ve had plenty of bowls of northern Thai food khanom jeen nam ngiaw (ขนมจีนน้ำเงี้ยว) in Chiang Mai, but this was the most complex, richest, and most in depth flavorful bowl of the dish I’ve ever had. And the umami was maxxed out, the tomatoes blew my taste buds in all directions.
Huge thank you to Khun Hanuman and Khun Ton for their kindness and hospitality.
Thai Cooking Class at Three Trees Doi Saket - When you’re in Chiang Mai, get in touch with Hanuman for the most authentic and immersive Thai cooking class in Thailand.

Thai Green Curry Chicken Recipe - AUTHENTIC Thai Home Cooking | แกงเขียวหวานไก่แบบบ้านๆ
►Full Thai green curry recipe here:
►Subscribe now for more food videos:
►Camera gear I use:
In this Thai green curry recipe (แกงเขียวหวานไก่) I decided to record my mother in law, who is one of the best Thai home cooks I know. Somehow she remembers all the ingredients in each Thai dish all from her head and doesn’t use any measurements. So I filmed here, narrated this Thai green curry chicken recipe, and wrote down all the ingredients and amounts she added.
Here are the Thai green curry ingredients you’ll need:
For the green curry chicken:
1 whole chicken - 1.4 kg. in total weight (ไก่บ้าน) - I think a free range chicken gives you the best Thai green curry taste
2 cups of water to first boil the chicken
green curry paste (เครื่องแกงเขียวหวาน)
2 - 3 cups of coconut cream (หัวกะทิ) -
6 - 10 Thai eggplant (มะเขือเปราะ)
6 - 10 stems of Thai sweet basil (โหระพา)
2 red spur chilies
20 kaffir lime leaves (ใบมะกรูด)
For the green curry paste (เครื่องแกงเขียวหวาน)
150 grams Thai green chilies (พริกขี้หนูเขียว)
1 head garlic (กระเทียม)
3 shallots - small shallots about 2 tbsp in total (หอมแดง)
1 thumb sized chunk of galangal (ข่า) -
5 cilantro roots (รากผักชี) coriander
1 kaffir lime - just the peel (ผิวมะกรูด)
2 stalks lemongrass (ตะไคร้)
1 tbsp. white peppercorns (พริกไทยขาว) -
1 tsp. coriander seed (ลูกผักชี) -
1 tsp. cumin seed (ยี่หร่า) -
1 tsp. salt (เกลือ)
1 tbsp. shrimp paste (กะปิ) -
*Affiliate links to Amazon
In order to make this Thai green curry recipe, you first prepare all your ingredients to pound. Then pound the green curry paste. This is the most time consuming part of making this recipe, but it’s well worth the effort to pound it by hand as all the oils and aromas will be released. It took me about 1.5 hours to pound the green curry paste.
Next step is to clean and chop up your chicken. We used a whole free range chicken for this recipe, but you could also use already cut up chicken pieces.
The final step in making this authentic Thai green curry recipe is to boil the chicken with the curry paste and water, then combine it with coconut cream and the eggplant.
If you follow these steps and use all the Thai ingredients, you’ll have one of the best bowls of Thai green curry you’ll ever have!
