Thai food markets are one of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food, or to buy groceries and fruit while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all around Thailand, and heaps around Phuket. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it for 3 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!
The markets in Thailand are a great place to get an insight into Thai culture while you travel in Thailand. You can shop alongside the locals and learn what they buy and eat. And the markets are a great place to try traditional Thai street foods, learn Thai recipes and cooking, as well as eat some of the best Thai dishes in Thailand. You'll see the people cooking the food right in front of you. And best of all, the food is cheap, often much cheaper than eating in a Thai restaurant. Eating at a Thai market is a good way to eat cheap on your Thailand holidays.
Make sure you check out some Thai Food Markets on your Phuket holiday, and be sure to sample some of the amazing Thai street food that's available in Thailand! If you want to try some of the most delicious food in the world be sure to visit Thailand!
Subscribe to my channel for my latest blog and for more videos on what to do in Thailand and what to eat in Thailand. New Thailand videos posted every Wednesday about Thailand: places to see, things to do, tours, Thai food, Thailand markets, Thai festivals & culture, street food, Thai recipes, eating Thai food, hotels, resorts, villas, restaurants, Thailand holidays, tourism, accommodation & Thailand travel, including Phuket, Ao Nang, Krabi and other Thailand destinations.
Krabi is about 2-3 hours from Phuket by land or sea, and has world class accommodation standards comparable to what you find in Phuket hotels and resorts, but in a more relaxed environment.
If you're looking into Thailand Hotels have a look at hotels and resorts in Krabi. The islands and beaches of Krabi are famous for Thailand holidays, the movie The Beach was filmed on Krabi's Koh Phi Phi Island.

31st November 2016 - Day 31 in Phuket, Thailand
So our time in Chalong, Phuket has now come to an end.
Spending the entire month of November 2016 in Thailand has been incredible!
The people we have met, the things we have seen and done here will never be forgotten.
I thoroughly enjoyed training Muay Thai at Tiger Muay Thai for a month. I would also recommend anyone looking to train here, to do the same. You are able to fully adapt to the heat and humidity of the Thai Air and more than that, the Muay Thai trainers respect you more for being with them for a longer period of time and showing up each day.
The local food has been second to none and the hospitality we received throughout our stay at the Ton Nam Villa, Chalong was phenomenal.
We even got a full body thai massage, the night before we left.
Do it! It's probably in my top 3 things of the trip. Incredible experience.
I really hope that you have enjoyed this series of videos!
Looking back now, I wish I had made even more!
I plan to return to Tiger Muay Thai and show you more of the training and get some tutorials as well.
If you did enjoy the videos please subscribe and leave a comment!
I am still making videos today so be sure to check out the rest of the channel.

New Governor arrives on Phuket
Phuket's new governor has taken up residence on the island. Nisit Jansomwong, the former governor of Ratchaburi and his wife, Khun Nutsaree, arrived at Phuket International Wednesday morning with a retinue of officials from his previous posting.
The new governor was met at the airport by 50 well-wishers and members of the provincial government and then proceeded to pay his respects at the Heroines Monument, the City Pillar at Tha Rua and Chalong Temple. In the afternoon, Governor Nisit checked in at the Governor's house and paid respect to the statue of Rama 5 at Provincial Hall.

Chalong Temple (Wat Chalong) In Phuket Thailand
Chalong Temple (Wat Chalong) Phuket Thailand
Chalong Temple (or Wat Chalong in the Thai language) is located in the heart of Chalong and is considered to be the most important temple in all of Phuket. Despite it being such an important temple, the atmosphere of the place doesn’t feel very religious. This is due mainly to the hundreds of tourists that flock to the temple every single day. Regardless of the crowds, it really is one of the top attractions on the island and a definite must for any first time visitors to Phuket.
For a more quiet experience, try going in the morning or late afternoon. Most tour groups arrive midday between 10am and 2pm. Of course this is just an estimate and tour groups can arrive at any time during the day.
The centerpiece of the temple is the 60 meter tall Chedi which is said to hold an actual bone splinter of the Buddha. The tower consists of three levels, the first two house statues of the Buddha as well as intricately detailed murals along all the walls, depicting the life and teachings of Buddha. At the top of the tower is a large viewing deck in which the Big Buddha of Phuket can be spotted in the distance. From the great height, it is an excellent photo opportunity to capture the entire temple grounds. At the very pinnacle of the Chedi is an enclosure that houses the bone splinter. This is a very sacred part of the temple and should be shown great respect regardless of your religious affiliation.
In addition to the Chedi, there are a number of lesser buildings as well as the main temple. Within, you will statues of revered Buddhist monks. This is where the majority of the Thai Buddhists come to pray, so be respectful. If you would like to participate in the customs, you can light incense and candles and even apply gold leaf to the statues.
At times you will hear a series of small bangs in quick succession with a final loud bang coming from outside the temple, do not be alarmed. Thai’s can make merit to Buddha by lighting off firecrackers inside what looks like a large brick oven.
Around the back side of the temple, you can find a few souvenir shops if you want to purchase a memento of your visit. They also sell non-alcoholic drinks and fresh coconut.

Traditional Thai fashion on show at Rajabhat University Phuket
Phuket staged a glamorous evening of traditional Thai fashion at Rajabhat University recently to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's birthday. Governor Maitri Inthusut and PPAO chief Paiboon Upatising and their wives were among the models on the catwalk, as were several well-known island residents, including Phuket Today presenters, Kristi Matzenberger and Isaac Simonelli.
