British Airways A380 | Training and Promotion Flight To Shannon
Fantastic close up footage of British Airways brand new Airbus A380 (Registration : G-XLEA) on a short training and publicity visit to Shannon Airport, Ireland on July 30th 2013. In this footage you can see up close HD footage of the aircraft landing, taxiing and taking off.
The A380 arrived into Shannon Airport, Ireland on Tuesday 30th July around 10.20 am for a short visit which lasted about 2 hours. Shannon was selected for the training visit to test the capabilities as a diversionary airport in the event of an emergency.
British Airways A380 G-XLEA positioned London Stansted -- Shannon that morning as BA9152 and returned from to Shannon -- London Gatwick at 12:40pm BA9153. The aircraft then positioned London Gatwick -- London Heathrow as BA9154 later that evening. There has also been emphasis to demonstrate the plane at various UK airports to BA staff & even visited the maintenance facility at Cardiff.
On this day at Shannon the opportunity for a photocall with the A380 and a BA A318 was facilitated. The Airbus A318 is the smallest jet in the British Airways fleet and the A380 is obviously the largest. The were photoed nose to nose. The A318 was operated BA1 from London City to New York (via Shannon).
This A380 had only been delivered to BA earlier in the month from Toulouse -- London Heathrow on 4th July 2013 as BA380. It was also on display at the Paris Air Show 16th-19th June 2013
Long haul flights will start on September 24th when an A380 will operate BA268/9 London Heathrow -- Los Angeles, while Heathrow-Hong Kong BA25/26 from October 22nd 2013.

Travel Blog: UK Places - Wells, the smallest city in the UK
Here's a lovely city, Wells, in Somerset. Very quaint with a market square used for filming, and a monastic castle/cathedral. I investigated some parts of the city that aren't great for access however I saw quite a lot of the places recommended by the tourist office.

Fly Fearless.com which is an Irish organisation that specialises in helping people overcome their fear of flying contacted me. I produced this video to show some of the sights and sounds that someone travelling aboard an ATR aircraft would experience. All of the footage is of Aer Arann aircraft. Aer Arann operates the ATR 42 and ATR72 on regional flights within Ireland and to destinations in the UK and France. Footage for this video was shot in Galway, Dublin and Cork airports and features takeoff and landing, as well as other airport sights. This is an amateur video and not endorsed by any company featured.

Feeding Fish with Your FEET!
Thailand has a unique way to exfoliating one’s feet. On this episode we’ll uncover the bizarre experience of the fish pedicure.
Increasing in popularity over the years, the fish pedicure originated in Turkey but is also has deep roots in Syria, Iran and Iraq. This craze started to spread across Europe starting in 2008 and has expanded in popularity in Asia. Thailand has seen a massive influx of businesses starting up, one can find these places in malls, street kiosks, tourist hotspots. Currently in Thailand there are 1341 registered fish spas and over 3000 unregistered spas.
How does it work? Inside the tank are toothless garra rufa fish sometimes called doctor fish. These little guys will suck the dead skin tissue off your foot. Being toothless, there is no biting sensation just many tiny sucking mouths. The moment your feet hits the water, the fish will swarm you and start chowing down. The sensation feels like a mix of sucking and tapping but with 100 fish doing it at the same time. At first it's an alarming experience, many people will find it highly ticklish. The garra rufa will target the smelliest, sweatiest parts of your feet first then start to work their way up the leg. In Thailand it’ll cost you between 200-300 Thai baht or around $8 for a 30 minute session.
The president of the Dermatological Society of Thailand says these fish spas don’t come without risk though, both the fish and water are able to cause infection. They point out that in a medical facility instruments used on a patient are sterilized after every use which doesn’t happen with these fish spas. This risk of infection has caused 14 US states to ban the fish pedicure.
Not only in Thailand, are fish pedicures popular, they are booming in the UK now, prices aren’t cheap though in the UK running around $80 a session. Just the same as in Thailand, UK health officials are cautious these fish spas may be doing more harm than good. Often tanks have a filtration system and uv lights to prevent the spread of disease but it seems there is no definitive answer if real risk is present at fish spas.
