Bunaken - Thalassa Dive Center
The Dive Center is located on the premises of the 4 star Seaside Resort Santika, fifteen kilometers north of Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi, amongst waving palm trees and lush mangrove forests, in the middle of the famous National Park of Bunaken.
The Bunaken National Marine Park was formally established in 1991 and was among the first of Indonesia's growing system of marine parks. The park is just under 80,000 hectares of land (3%) and sea (97%), and comprises the five islands of Bunaken, Manado Tua, Siladen, Montehage and Nain. This area is part of the Indo-Pacific region which supports the highest marine biodiversity on earth.

Dolphins at Thalassa Dive Resort, Bunaken National Park
It was again a spectacular week! On the way to our muck diving destination we came across a huge population of bottlenose dolphins. You have got to SEA the video made by Satoka and edited by Daan. We also saw 3 octopi very close to each other, a super large black frog fish, a few very, very small clown frogfish, a flamboyant cuttle fish, a Cockatoo Wasp fish and various ghost pipe fish. O course we saw the usual abundance of turtles and quite a few banded sea snakes. But those are the normal spottings in our area. Come on over and check it out yourself.

My latest underwater video from the beautiful area around Bunaken National Park and the Lembeh Strait in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Great diversity of marine life like sharks, turtles, rays, nudibranches, frogfishes, the rare mandarin fish and of course the intelligent mimic octopus. Almost 13 minutes long but I had a hard time leaving certain clips out. So have fun watching and let me know if you enjoyed the video.

Bunaken Island, Diving, Cha Cha Resort 2017
