Phatthalung southeast of Krabi is quite an unknown province to foreign tourists but a popular destination among Thai people. Located between Songkhla Lake to the east and the mountains to the west, Phattalung is an excellent destination to see some of the country’s natural beauty without the massive crowds. The big attraction is the Thale Noi Waterfowl Reserve in Khuan Khanun which is a protected freshwater wetland with millions of pink lotus flowers.
The flowers are at their best from February-March while the bird population is at its highest from October-March.
Thailand: Thale Noi Waterfowl Reserve
A 2-hour boat trip to see migratory birds at Thale Noi. If you arrive at the Hatyai airport, walk to the end of the car park in front of the arrival exit. There's a pick-up point with seats under a shed. The blue songthaew to town (30 Baht) travels along Phet Kasem Rd to Kanjanavanich Rd to the Hatyai Bus Station 1. You can press the bell to alight anywhere. From your hotel, take a tuk-tuk (200 Baht /tuk-tuk) to the Minivan/Bus Station 1 (near Central Festival Mall). At the Minivan Station, there's a desk counter selling minivan ticket to Thale Noi (100 Baht/person). The minivan departs every 2 hr from 8 am. Journey is 2 hr. It's more convenient than taking a bus from Bus Station 2 (near Tesco Lotus 2 /Hat Yai Nai) to the Phatthalung Bus Station and then take a minivan to Thale Noi. Also easier than taking train to the Phatthalung Train Station and taking a tuk-tuk to the Bus Station to take a minivan to Thale Noi. The minivan to Thale Noi stops near the Waterfowl Reserve entrance. Where you alight, there is a desk counter at a shop selling minivan ticket (70 Baht /person) to the Phatthalung Bus Station. To get to the train station, take a tuk-tuk from the Bus Station to the Train Station. Alighting at the Pak Klong train station to get to Thale Noi, 8 km away, is possible, but it's hard to find minivan at this minor train station.

Day 3 we cycled for about 38km from Ranot - Thale Noi for 2 major activities i.e. Songkran Water Festival & visit the waterbird sanctuary. The ride was easy for all.

博他仑府是坐落在坐落在泰南区域（Krabi南下，Songkhla北上），博他仑府是一座以天然景色取胜的城府。相比起首都曼谷的繁华容貌，博他仑府是不经修饰的天然美。不管你喜欢不喜欢大自然，这里都是必去之一的景点哦‼️因为平常时在繁华城市忙碌的生活，偶尔也需要去大自然环境放松一下自己的心情。所谓休息是为了走更长远的路嘛????
Phatthalung 离开合艾大约是1小时半～2小时的车程，而最让人知晓的，就是这里一个很美的莲花湖 ????塔勒湖 (Thale Noi)位于博他仑府的宋卡湖(Songkhla Lake) 北部，是泰国最大的水禽保护区，据说养育超过150种水禽和植物????塔勒湖的水草丰富，湖周围也有许多浅滩，因此除了睡莲，也是候鸟天堂哦‼️
✨Phatthalung 不是一个英文华语通用的地方，若真的和当地人沟通的话，就得用上最传统的肢体语言，或是找谷歌大师 (谷歌翻译)帮忙了哦。
赏莲花的季节是每年的3月到10月，都是莲花盛开的时刻，美不胜数。而观鸟则是10月到隔年3月哦。
要观赏塔勒莲花湖美景，最好是在清晨日出????之间(泰国时间5am或6am)，就抵达塔勒湖的小码头(Thalei Noi Bird Watching Park) 租一艘长木舟可以坐上5～6人(450 baht/ 船)，行程大约1～2个小时哦。
乘着木舟是可以看见湖上工作者的渔民，或者会看到渔民置放的鱼笼，湖中央是当地的传统渔网,也会看到很多密密麻麻的红点。别着急，船长会带你向远处的红点走呢。
另一个值得去的就是 Sripakpra Resort , 这地方旁边可以看到很多传统渔网，这里的食物价格也合理哦。
这里有间美丽的咖啡馆Kanam Coffee，大家可以来到这稻田景色的咖啡馆享用午餐或晚餐，也拍拍照打卡呢????
若在傍晚时分，想要欣赏日落美景???? 可到 Thale Noi Bridge(彩色跨湖桥梁) 该桥梁长5.45公里，是为了庆祝泰王普密蓬80大寿而兴建，连接着博他仑府Amphoe Khuan Khanun 和宋卡府的 Amphoe Ranot 的桥身颜色非常鲜艳哦，桥边让人看了迷恋的湿地美景也是打卡的景点之一呢。

Der Thalay-Noi See ist ein Paradies für Wasservögel.
In der Weite des Thalay-Noi Sees gehen Wasser und Land fließend ineinander über. Die Landschaft ist ein Wechsel aus Wasser, Schilfweiden, Seerosen, kleinen Inselchen. Es ist eine faszinierende Pflanzen- und Tierwelt.
Der Thalay-Noi See ist zum Wasservogel-Schutzgebiet erklärt worden. Er bietet für unzählige Vögel einen paradiesischen Lebensraum.
Wilde Wasserbüffel grasen auf den Schilfweiden. Noch vor 50 Jahren gab es hier sogar Liliput-Elefanten und Krokodile.
Der Thalay Noi See befindet sich im Südosten Thailands. Er hat eine kleine Verbindung zum riesigen Songkhla See, dem größten Binnensee Südostasiens.
Naturfreunde können dieses Paradies mit Longtail-Booten erkunden, die von ortskundigen Einheimischen gesteuert werden.

Thale Noi
One of Thailand’s most important, and scenic, waterbird sanctuaries, Thale Noi is located in South Thailand’s Phattalung Province. Thale Noi – meaning Small Sea in Thai comprises of the northern limits of the large Thale Sap, (Freshwater Sea) which stretches off to the south eventually connecting to the Gulf of Thailand at Songkhla Town. The southern reaches are, despite the name, brackish but the northern end consists of freshwater marshes and lotus covered lakes that are home to a spectacular array of waterfowl. Thale Noi wetland is also one Thailand’s most significant Ramsar sites. - See more at:

Thale Noi is a protected fresh water wetland located in Phatthalung province, southern Thailand. Covering an area of 460 km², the wetlands are situated approximately 20 km inland from the east coast peninsula of the Gulf of Thailand and 115 km north of the Malaysian border in Satun province. Thale Noi Non-Hunting Area is one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in South East Asia.
It is the smallest, northernmost basin in the chain of lagoons that form Songkhla Lake, spreading across three provincial boundaries into Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla provinces and is home to the critically endangered Irrawaddy dolphin
