Bueng Kan Province and it's 'Stairways to Heaven' - Wat Phu Tok
One of the lessor know regions in Thailand's North East is Bueng Kan Province. To get there is a one hour flight from Bangkok to Udon Thani and then a 200 kilometer car ride to the main city. My first stop upon arrival in Bueng kan was Wat Phu Tok, affectionately know as the stairway to heaven.

Laos Market: a market in Muaeng Bueng Kan which open every Tuesday and Friday. It is called Laos Market because there are many Lao people come sell things like vegetables, dried food, and fresh food at the market.
Wat Sawang Ar-rom (Wat Tham Si Thon): the temple is located on a mountain with shady trees and small rivers. Inside the temple, there is a reclining Buddha image. On a large rock is a bell-shaped chapel. Visitors can see the view of Laos from the top.

Untouched Bueng Kan - Thailand's newest Province
Established as the 76th Province of Thailand in March 2011, Bueng Kan of the larger Nong Khai region in Thailand's far Nth East is certainly one of the most unspoilt places in the entire Kingdom....here's some of what the region has to offer. To get there, there are numerous daily flights to Udon Thani..then it's by road. Eco tourist's are in for a real treat, as this story highlights an opportunity that is quite rare.
