Saraikistan is the region of Saraiki people (also called Saraiki Waseb or Saraiki Wasson) in central Pakistan. Its older name was Sauvira. The land of Saraikistan is very rich, fecund and fertile; its people are very simple, humble and loving and the Saraiki language they speak is soft, sober and sweet. Bahawalpur is one of its beautiful cities.
Noor Mahala History Bahawal Pur Where Queen had one Night stay.
Who will not be fond of seeing the beautiful buildings of Pakistan constructed by former Muslim kings or nawabs? I think everyone wants to see these magnificent man-made monuments which give their admirers reasons to be happy and proud . However, it is ironic that only a few people know the art of praising these iconic buildings reminding us of the glorious eras of Muslim architecture. One such gem is “Noor Mahal” of Bahawalpur.
Bahawalpur is a cultural and historical city. If we go in the history, then we come to know that before the independence of Pakistan Bahawalpur was a princely state founded by Abbasi Family who migrated from Bughdad to sub-continent in the 18th century. Abbasi Family ruled over Bahawalpur more than 200 years (1747-1955). But after migrating to Pakistan in 1947 the Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Khan acceded the Bahawalpur state with Pakistan in 1956 and opened his treasure for Pakistan because the socio-economic condition of Pakistan was very critical. Nawabs made several gorgeous building during their reign , Noor Mahal is one of them.
Last week I visited Noor Mahal on an education trip with my class fellows. We all were excited to see this hidden gem built by the Abbasi Family. We all were surprised and mesmerized by the magic of this palace. The first glimpse of Noor Mahal took us in the past and we were enthralled by the glory and dignity of our Muslim rulers. It consists of 32 rooms 14 in basement, six vernades and five domes. It covers the area of 4140 m2. The whole history of the state and the biography of Abbasi Family with pictures and maps was given on the walls of palace in the form of beautiful paintings. Noor Mahal was constructed by Nawab Muhammad Sadiq for four of his queens in 1872. We all were shocked and and got a lesson when we read about the life of Nawab Sadiq Khan that Nawab Sadiq never came in this palace but just one night because when he was walking in the palaces’ balcony he saw a graveyard situated just behind the palace.

Bahawalpur Trip 2017 (1) Derawar Fort, Cholistan
Derawar fort is located in Cholistan desert in Ahmedpur East tehsil of Bahawalpur district, Punjab, Pakistan. It was built by Rai Jajja Bhatti, a Rajput ruler of the Bhatti clan. The fort was built in the 9th century AD as a tribute to Rawal Deoraj Bhatti, a Rajput sovereign king of the Jaisalmer and Bahawalpur areas who had his capital at Lodhruva. The fort was initially known as Dera Rawal, and later referred to as Dera Rawar, which with the passage of time came to be pronounced Derawar, its present name.
In the 18th century, the fort was taken over by Muslim Nawabs of Bahawalpur from the Shahotra tribe. It was later renovated by Abbasi rulers, but in 1747 the fort slipped from their hands owing to Bahawal Khan's preoccupations at Shikarpur. Nawab Mubarak Khan took the stronghold back in 1804.
This historically-significant fort presents an enormous and impressive structure in the heart of the Cholistan desert, but it is rapidly deteriorating and in need of immediate preventative measures for preservation.
Royal Graveyard of Mir Mankani Talpurs
Chittori Tombs are the ancient ancestral graveyard of the Talpur Mirs of Mirpur Khas, Sindh province. The sandstone tombs constructed by Talpur rulers over the graves of their elders are the finest instances of Sindh’s architecture prevalent in seventeenth and eighteenth century. The graveyard is situated about 22 kilometers northeast of Mirpur Khas town on Mirpur Khas-Khipro road.
Chittori tombs are spread over 35 acres of land. The graves have geometrical designs, and the tombs and mehrabs show Islamic architecture. Although, the cutting of stone and balancing of slabs depicts the Rajasthan architecture. The floods of 2010 year and heavy rainfall have affected the graveyard ofChittori.

The territories surrounding Dir were populated by their current ethnic majority, the Pakhtuns, beginning from the end of the 14th century. Noor Mahal Bahawalpur Vlog With Light Show | City of Nawabs | City of Palaces | Mohsin Jatt
The Noor Mahal (Urdu: نور محل) is a palace in Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. It was built in 1872 like an Italian chateau on neoclassical lines, at a time when modernism had set in. It belonged to the Nawabs of Bahawalpur princely state, during British Raj.

History
There are various stories regarding its construction. According to one legend, Nawab Adnan Abbasi IV had the palace made for his wife; however, she was only there for one night, as she happened to see the adjoining graveyard from her balcony, and refused to spend another night there, and so it remained unused during his reign.
Noor Mehal is one of the hidden gems of Bahawalpur, due to the lack of publicity. The palace is open to public. It is currently in the possession of the Pakistan Army and is used as a state guest house for holding state durbars and meetings with foreign delegations.
Architecture
Mr. Heennan, an Englishman who was the state engineer, designed the building. The foundation of Noor Palace was laid in 1872. A map and coins of the state were buried in its foundation as a good omen. Most of the palace's materials and furniture were imported from England and Italy. The construction of the palace was completed in 1875 at a cost of Rs. 1.2 million. Considering the amount of silver in the Indian Rupee Coin at 11.66 Grams in 1862, this amount in 2016 would come to about 8.1 million US dollars. Noor Palace covers an area of 44,600 square feet (4,140 m2). It has 32 rooms including 14 in the basement, 6 verandas and 5 domes.
The design encompasses features of Corinthian and Islamic styles of architecture with a tinge of subcontinental style. The Corinthian touch is visible in the columns, balustrade, pediments and the vaulted ceiling of Durbar Hall. The Islamic style is evident in the five domes, whereas the angular elliptical shapes are a stroke of subcontinent style. Nawab Muhammad Bahawal Khan the fifth added a mosque to the palace in 1906 at the cost of Rs. 20,000. The design is based on the mosque of Aitchison College.
In 1956, when Bahawalpur State was merged into Pakistan, the building was taken over by the Auqaf department. The palace was leased to the army in 1971; in 1997 the army purchased it for the sum of 119 million.
The building was declared a “protected monument” in September 2001 by the Government of Pakistan's Department of Archeology, and it is now open for general visitors, students trips and other interested persons.
Things to see
There are a lot of old things present in it. It includes many Nawabs' used things. There are many old swords, old currency notes and coins, old laws that were made in that time, an old piano that Nawabs used to play, old furniture used by Nawabs etc. There is also a long wall in it that contains imaginary pictures of Nawabs. Only one picture is real, all others are imaginary. There is also a prison cell aside the Mahal.
