Avenue Of Honour Yungaburra Tribute
Don't cry for what you see today,
Don't pity our cause.
Don't blame the governments of the world
We lived our dreams our way.
Don't wish away the memories
The if's, the buts, and maybe's
Don't look our resting place
As the harshest of your memories.
Everyone along this path
Came to live their dream,
We felt Australia needed people like us
To keep our nation FREE.
Today, come to say g'day
Let us tell you of our pride.
We were young at heart but old of mind
Our lives have served their time
As the sun peeps over Lake we guard,
Watch Our Avenue of Honour glow.
For it is we, that honour you
On the Lake at Yungaburra.

Australian National Anthem Lyrics
ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free.
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea.
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare.
In history’s page,
Let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
~
New Zealand National Anthem lyrics
GOD DEFEND NEW ZEALAND
E Ihowā Atua,
O ngā iwi mātou rā
Āta whakarangona;
Me aroha noa
Kia hua ko te pai;
Kia tau tō atawhai;
Manaakitia mai
Aotearoa
God of Nations at thy feet,
In bounds of love we meet,
Hear our voices, we entreat,
God defend our Free Land.
Guard Pacific’s triple star,
From the shafts of strife and war,
Make her praises heard afar,
God defend New Zealand.
~
The Ode
They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
LEST WE FORGET
Anzac Day is probably Australia’s most important national occasion.
It marks the rst major military action fought by Australia and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as Anzacs, and the pride they took in that name endures to this day.

Young Veterans - Day 28 Highlights
Today we were back on track with the FFR good to go. We left Townsville, and headed north. Enjoying the cool ocean breeze as we headed for some cooler country. We headed into the Atherton tablelands and visited the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour in Yungaburra, which proved to be quite the emotional experience. From there we made our way down the table lands into Cairns, where the Cairns RSL Sub Branch and Queensland RSL Nth QLD District members were waiting for us for a few drinks and snacks before we wrapped up for the night after another long days drive.
