There are more than a dozen professional football teams in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Some are even located in the same neighborhood. Buenos Aires giants Racing Club and Independiente are actually located 1 block from each other. Why Sport Matters shot this video just before a match at Racing to give perspective.

Una curiosa y bizarra carrera se desarrolla en pleno centro porteño, tiñéndolo de color. Desde las 14, en Corrientes y Florida, hasta Leandro N. Alem, unos cuarenta autos sin motor compiten en un circuito de más de 400 metros par a ver cuál es el más rápido y original.
El equipo ganador del evento llamado Red Bull Soapbox Race será premiado con un viaje al GP de Brasil con todos los gastos pagos. El jurado estará integrado por el ex piloto de F1 Norberto Fontana, la modelo Pampita Ardohain, el actor Nicolás Riera, y el bicampeón del Dakar Marcos Patronelli.
Tal como se esperaba, hubo una masiva asistencia al evento que ya es un clásico en ciudades como Londres (con el Big Ben de fondo), Dallas, Atlanta, Los Ángeles, Herten (Alemania, donde asistieron más de 60.000 personas), Omán (con el telón de las increíbles dunas de Boushar), Hong Kong, Belfast, Estambul, Barcelona, París, Moscú, Bruselas, y Taiwán, entre muchos otros.
Los equipos trabajan en originales y creativos proyectos como una tabla de picada, un Papamóvil, una hormiga gigante, una parrilla repleta de asado, una Tora, el Titanic, un Choripán gigante, un Toro Azul, un niguiri (pieza de sushi), y la figura de Carlos Gardel, entre muchas otras delirantes creaciones. La entrada es libre y gratuita.

Creativity contest in Argentina - Red Bull Soapbox Race 2013
For the first time, this unique, non-motorised racing event challenged both experienced and amateurs racers in Argentina. Fourty teams were chosen to be part of the crazy competition that take place in Corrientes Avenue, the heart of Buenos Aires.

Argentina: Racing Cub fans clash with police in Buenos Aires

Fans of the Racing Club football team clashed with police in the early hours of Monday morning in Buenos Aires, as the team became the SuperLiga champion on Sunday.
Footage shows large numbers of police in riot gear clashing with fans who in turn hurling rock and bottles.
Fans celebrated at the Obelisco de Buenos Aires for several hours after their team’s victory, until a group of them confronted police who were asking fans to clear the streets. Eight fans were reportedly arrested.
