Clouds Hill in Dorset, the former home of T. E. Lawrence C.B. D.S.O. (Lawrence of Arabia).
Clouds Hill was the former home of T. E. Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia. The cottage is owned by the National Trust and is full of T.E.'s possessions. He designed a lot of the furnishings, even the ceramics. It's a tranquil place and you feel like T.E. has just popped out. There is no toilet, he would say his spade was the toilet! As well as colleagues in the forces, many famous people visited him there, including Thomas Hardy. It's well worth a visit, plus you are allowed to take photographs in there and film.
