St Augustine, Florida USA - Exploring America's Oldest City
Exploring the beautiful city St Augustine in Florida, USA.
St Augustine was founded in 1565 by Spanish explorers which makes it the oldest continuously inhabited settlement of continental United States.
St Augustine is easy to get to from Orlando and even though it’s only two hours away the relaxed atmosphere and its rich history is a million miles away from crowds and queues of the theme parks.
During our stay in St Augustine we stayed at the pretty water front Bayfront Marin House Inn which overlooks Matanzas Bay in the historic centre and is within easy walking distance of the city’s historic sites, museums, art galleries and restaurants.
Take the Red Train Trolley to get to know the layout of the historic city centre. You must visit the Castillo de San Marcos, the first masonry fort in the Americas, the Fountain of Youth, Flagler College (formerly Hotel Flagler's Ponce de Leon Hotel) and the St Augustine Lighthouse.

SUMMARY
=======
Berbers, or Amazighs (Berber languages: ⵉⵎⴰⵣⵉⵗⴻⵏ, Imaziɣen; singular: ⴰⵎⴰⵣⵉⵗ, Amaziɣ), are an ethnic group indigenous to North Africa, primarily inhabiting Algeria, northern Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, northern Niger, Tunisia, Libya and a part of western Egypt.
Berbers are distributed in an area stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Siwa Oasis in Egypt and from the Mediterranean Sea to the Niger River in West Africa. Historically, they spoke Berber languages, which together form the Berber branch of the Afroasiatic family. Since the Muslim conquest of North Africa in the 7th century, a large number of Berbers inhabiting the Maghreb (Tamazgha) have in varying degrees used a lingua franca, which in most cases is a Maghrebi Arabic dialect. After the colonization of North Africa by France, the French government succeeded in integrating the French language in Algeria by making French the official national language and requiring all education to take place in French. Foreign languages, mainly French and to some degree Spanish, inherited from former European colonial powers, are used by most educated Berbers in Algeria and Morocco in some formal contexts, such as higher education or business.
Most Berber people live in North Africa, mainly in Libya, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. Small Berber populations are also found in Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Egypt as well as large immigrant communities living in France, Spain, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and other countries of Europe. The majority of Berbers are Sunni Muslim. The Berber identity is usually wider than language and ethnicity and encompasses the entire history and geography of North Africa. Berbers are not an entirely homogeneous ethnicity, and they encompass a range of societies and ancestries. The unifying forces for the Berber people may be their shared language or a collective identification with Berber heritage and history.
There are some 25–30 million Berber speakers in North Africa. The number of ethnic Berbers (including non-Berber speakers) is far greater, as a large part of the Berbers have acquired other languages over the course of many decades or centuries and no longer speak Berber today. The majority of North Africa's population is believed to be Berber in origin, although due to Arabization most ethnic Berbers identify as Arabized Berbers.Berbers call themselves some variant of the word i-Mazigh-en (singular: a-Mazigh), possibly meaning free people or noble men. The name probably had its ancient parallel in the Roman and Greek names for Berbers, Mazices. Some of the best known of the ancient Berbers are the Numidian king Masinissa, king Jugurtha, the Berber-Roman author Apuleius, Saint Augustine of Hippo, and the Berber-Roman general Lusius Quietus, who was instrumental in defeating the major wave of Jewish revolts of 115–117. Dihya, or Kahina, was a religious and military leader who led a fierce Berber resistance against the Arab-Muslim expansion in Northwest Africa. Kusaila was a 7th-century leader of the Awraba tribe of the Berber people and King of the Sanhadja confederation. Yusuf ibn Tashfin was king of the Berber Almoravid dynasty; Tariq ibn Ziyad the general who conquered Hispania; Abbas Ibn Firnas, a prolific inventor and early pioneer in aviation; Ibn Battuta, a medieval explorer who traveled the longest known distances of his time.
02. The Crisis of the Third Century and the Diocletianic Reforms
The Early Middle Ages, 284--1000 (HIST 210)
Professor Freedman outlines the problems facing the Roman Empire in the third century. The Persian Sassanid dynasty in the East and various Germanic tribes in the West threatened the Empire as never before. Internally, the Empire struggled with the problem of succession, an economy wracked by inflation, and the decline of the local elite which had once held it together. Having considered these issues, Professor Freedman then moves on to the reforms enacted under Diocletian to stabilize the Empire. He attempted to solve the problem of succession by setting up a system of joint rule called the Tetrarchy, to stabilize the economy through tax reform, and to protect the frontiers through militarization. Although many of his policies failed--some within his lifetime--Diocletian nevertheless saved the Roman Empire from collapse.

7_Mary Unveils the Apocalypse: Ephesus
Taking Mary’s cue, and our knowledge gained from archaeological findings of the ancient churches of Asia, we proceed to discover the identity of today’s Apocalyptic “Church of Ephesus.” The city of the virgin goddess Artemis-Diana is confronted by the Virgin Mother of God. The symbols employed in the seven letters are used throughout the Book of Revelation. This discussion proposes, among other things, the identity of “the First Love” and of the “Nicolaitians”.

Pseudo-Aristotle's Secret of Secrets [Audiobook - Part 2/2]
Pseudo-Aristotle's Secret of Secrets (Sirr al-Asrar) Audiobook [Part 2/2]
Translated from the Arabic into English by: Alexander Strathern Fulton
Read by: Dan Attrell
Translated from MS. Gotha 1869, with variants from MS. Gotha 1870, B.M. Or. 3118, B.M. Or. 6421, Laud. Or. 210, and the Hebrew text of Gaster
[From Wikipedia:] The Secretum Secretorum (Latin for The Secret of Secrets), also known as the Sirr al-Asrar (Arabic: كتاب سر الأسرار, lit. 'The Secret Book of Secrets'), is a pseudoaristotelian treatise which purports to be a letter from Aristotle to his student Alexander the Great on an encyclopedic range of topics, including statecraft, ethics, physiognomy, astrology, alchemy, magic, and medicine. The earliest extant editions claim to be based on a 9th-century Arabic translation of a Syriac translation of the lost Greek original. Modern scholarship finds it likely to have been a 10th-century work composed in Arabic. Translated into Latin in the mid-12th century, it was influential among European intellectuals like Roger Bacon and Albertus Magnus during the High Middle Ages.
The origin of the treatise remains uncertain. The Arabic edition claims to be a translation from Greek by 9th-century scholar Abu Yahya ibn al-Batriq (died 815 CE), and one of the main translators of Greek-language philosophical works for Al-Ma'mun, working from a Syriac edition which was itself translated from a Greek original. It contains supposed letters from Aristotle to his pupil Alexander the Great. No such texts have been discovered and it appears the work was actually composed in Arabic. The letters may thus derive from the Islamic and Persian legends surrounding Alexander. The Arabic treatise is preserved in two copies: a longer 10-book version and a shorter version of 7 or 8 books; the latter is preserved in about 50 copies.
Modern scholarship considers that the text must date to after the Encyclopedia of the Brethren of Purity and before the work of Ibn Juljul in the late 10th century. The section on physiognomy may have been circulating as early as AD 940. The Arabic version was translated into Persian (at least twice), Ottoman Turkish (twice), Hebrew, Spanish, and twice into Latin. (The Hebrew edition was also the basis for a translation into Russian.) The first Latin translation was done for the Portuguese queen c. 1120 by the converso John of Seville; it is now preserved in about 150 copies. The second translation was done at Antioch c. 1232 by Philip of Tripoli; it is preserved in more than 350 copies. Some 13th-century editions include additional sections.

SUMMARY
=======
In historiography, ancient Rome is Roman civilization from the founding of the city of Rome in the 8th century BC to the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century AD, encompassing the Roman Kingdom, Roman Republic and Roman Empire until the fall of the western empire. The term is sometimes used to refer only to the kingdom and republic periods, excluding the subsequent empire. The civilization began as an Italic settlement in the Italian peninsula, dating from the 8th century BC, that grew into the city of Rome and which subsequently gave its name to the empire over which it ruled and to the widespread civilisation the empire developed. The Roman empire expanded to become one of the largest empires in the ancient world, though still ruled from the city, with an estimated 50 to 90 million inhabitants (roughly 20% of the world's population) and covering 5.0 million square kilometres at its height in AD 117.In its many centuries of existence, the Roman state evolved from a monarchy to a Classical Republic and then to an increasingly autocratic empire. Through conquest and assimilation, it eventually dominated the Mediterranean region, Western Europe, Asia Minor, North Africa, and parts of Northern and Eastern Europe. It is often grouped into classical antiquity together with ancient Greece, and their similar cultures and societies are known as the Greco-Roman world.
Ancient Roman civilisation has contributed to modern government, law, politics, engineering, art, literature, architecture, technology, warfare, religion, language, and society. Rome professionalised and expanded its military and created a system of government called res publica, the inspiration for modern republics such as the United States and France. It achieved impressive technological and architectural feats, such as the construction of an extensive system of aqueducts and roads, as well as the construction of large monuments, palaces, and public facilities.
By the end of the Republic (27 BC), Rome had conquered the lands around the Mediterranean and beyond: its domain extended from the Atlantic to Arabia and from the mouth of the Rhine to North Africa. The Roman Empire emerged with the end of the Republic and the dictatorship of Augustus Caesar. 721 years of Roman-Persian Wars started in 92 BC with their first war against Parthia. It would become the longest conflict in human history, and have major lasting effects and consequences for both empires. Under Trajan, the Empire reached its territorial peak. Republican mores and traditions started to decline during the imperial period, with civil wars becoming a prelude common to the rise of a new emperor. Splinter states, such as the Palmyrene Empire, would temporarily divide the Empire during the crisis of the 3rd century.
Plagued by internal instability and attacked by various migrating peoples, the western part of the empire broke up into independent barbarian kingdoms in the 5th century. This splintering is a landmark historians use to divide the ancient period of universal history from the pre-medieval Dark Ages of Europe. The eastern part of the empire endured through the 5th century and remained a power throughout the Dark Ages and medieval times until its fall in 1453 AD. Although the citizens of the empire made no distinction, the empire is most commonly referred to as the Byzantine Empire by modern historians during the Middle Ages to differentiate between the state of antiquity and the nation it grew into.
17. The Early Middle Ages, 284--1000: The Crucial Seventh Century
The Early Middle Ages, 284--1000 (HIST 210)
In the first half of this lecture, Professor Freedman continues the previous lecture's discussion of the Abbasids. He highlights their ability to assimilate other cultures, before turning to their decline in the tenth century. In the second half of the lecture, Professor Freedman considers the seventh century, the crucial turning point in the history of early medieval Europe. The seventh century shaped medieval Europe; the period saw the rise of Islam and Northern Europe, fundamental changes in Byzantium, the reorientation of Persia, and the end of the secular elite in the west. Professor Freedman concludes with a few remarks on the Pirenne thesis, which states that the rise of Islam broke up the Mediterranean and paved the way for the rise of northern Europe.

From the Pages of Blackpast: Six African American Women Who Changed the West (and the World)
Quintard Taylor is the Scott and Dorothy Bullitt Professor Emeritus of American History. An internationally recognized authority on black history in the American West, he has shaped the field for more than four decades with his pioneering research on African Americans in the Pacific Northwest.
Taylor’s lecture explores the role of technology in changing the narrative of African American history. His extensive online database, BlackPast, introduces a global audience to significant people, places and events that challenge and broaden our assumptions about the black historical experience.
The narrative of African American history has typically focused on major figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Frederick Douglass and Rosa Parks. While these individuals and their stories are important, we get a much richer understanding of black life and history by also delving into the less well-known stories of others. BlackPast was designed to facilitate this exploration. In his lecture, Taylor presents six little-known black women profiled on his website whose experiences can help us redefine the historical narrative of African Americans in the West and the world.

01. Course Introduction: Rome's Greatness and First Crises
The Early Middle Ages, 284--1000 (HIST 210)
Professor Freedman introduces the major themes of the course: the crisis of the Roman Empire, the rise of Christianity, the threats from barbarian invasions, and the continuity of the Byzantine Empire. At the beginning of the period covered in this course, the Roman Empire was centered politically, logistically, and culturally on the Mediterranean Sea. Remarkable for its size and longevity, the Empire was further marked by its tolerance. Although it contained an eclectic mix of peoples, the Empire was unified in part by a local elite with a shared language and customs. In the third century these strengths were increasingly threatened by the Empire's sheer size, its imbalances, both East-West and urban-rural, and by an army that realizes it could make and unmake emperors. Having set the scene, Professor Freedman looks to subsequent lectures where he will discuss reforms enacted to address these weaknesses.

Perry Stone Prophecy August 28, 2019 | The Second Coming Of Christ (Rapture) Will Happen Soon!!! Please watch my latest preaching video with a prayer for healing and share. Thanks.
In 1968, a 90-year-old woman in Norway was given an incredible glimpse into the future. She was shown what life would be like just before World War 3 and the return of Jesus Christ, and what she saw is eerily similar to current conditions in our world today. When evangelist Emanuel Minos held meetings in the town of Valdres, Norway where she lived, this precious elderly lady shared what the Lord had shown to her with him. Minos wrote down what he was told, and it got put away in a drawer for 30 years. But after many of the things that she saw started to come to pass, Minos remembered the vision and decided to share it with the world. See

Thousands of tapes have been sent free to the incarcerated and into the hands of the poor in third world countries. Recognized for his anointed and informative preaching, Perry has been able to breach denominational barriers and find attentive listeners from every conceivable religious background.
Although Perry’s first love is evangelism, he has distinguished himself as one of America’s foremost experts on Bible Prophecy. This recognition is not self-appointed. Perry is often featured as a keynote speaker at internationally recognized Prophecy Conferences. He has also been interviewed by nationally recognized Christian television programs, and often enters millions of homes on major Christian networks such as TBN, Daystar and INSP. Perry’s world travels and his personal contacts with diverse government and military personalities has given him a direct link to “insider information” as it relates to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
Through contacts in Israel, Perry was one of the first American ministers to confirm and publicize the search for the ashes of the Red Heifer. A decade before most Americans had ever heard of the Bible Code, Perry had not only heard of it, but had begun informing churches about this now famous phenomena. The earthquake fault line under the Mount of Olives, the huge birds of prey in the Golan and the healing of the Dead Sea are yet other examples where Perry was one of the first to present the information to the American public. Perry continues to research the ancient prophecies that are now being fulfilled in Israel and throughout the world. Perry is joined in the ministry by his wife of twenty-five years, Pam, and his two children Jonathan and Amanda.

Church of St. Peter in Banchi, Genoa, Liguria, Italy, Europe
The church of San Pietro in Banchi is a religious building in the historic center of Genoa, located in the Piazza Banchi. The building is named in Mary Immaculate. The church of San Pietro in Banchi with such dedication arose from a project in 1572 on the ruins of a pre-existing religious edifice. The old church was built over a pagan temple. The church was built near the outer walls erected by Charlemagne in 804, at the mouth of the stream of said rial Soziglia. It was founded by a cleric named Augustine , that the gift as a monastic cell to the monks of the Abbey of St. Columban of Bobbio, which he later enlarged the building. It exists since 862, as shown by a valuation, provided the monastery bobiense part of its revenue. The holdings were organized and grown from six massari Bobbio and annually supplied with chestnuts, olive oil, figs remains, wine and 200 cedars and other foodstuffs. The church of San Pietro in Banchi arose as a result colombaniana the area formerly occupied by the ancient church of St. Peter's Gate, built by the monks of St. Columban of Bobbio in 972 and then settled in the mother church of the Abbey of Santo Stefano in Liguria. The latest confirmation of the monastic cell autonomous as direct dependence of the Abbey of Bobbio goes back to a degree of 30 July 982 and a diploma next Emperor Otto II, October 1 998, no longer appears among the goods of the monastery bobiense. From this it can be dated to the transition to the assets of the nascent Abbazia di Santo Stefano, still Established bobiense. In 1125, the time of Bishop Siegfried, the church is emancipated from the Abbey of St. Stephen's passing the Cathedral of St. Lorenzo. The transition described in an ancient walled inscription in the church, attests to the redemption upon payment of 50 pounds. It was the order colombaniano Celtic-Irish until the destruction in 1398 by a fire set during a clash between Guelphs and Ghibellines, and is one of three churches (the others are the cathedral of San Lorenzo and San Bernardo) blasted in the city by the Government of the Republic of Genoa. Dedicated to Mary Immaculate Genoese by the Senate to fulfill a tied vote at the end of an epidemic, the church was financed, along with the nearby Loggia dei Mercanti, back a few years, thanks to the rent and sale of some shops located below it. This aspect forced Bernardino County in 1572 to conceive a project - a central plan with an octagonal dome and four pinnacles, of which only three then made - in which the entire building, situated on a terrace, remained elevated above the street level, which the spectacular staircase connecting one. The factory was completed by 1585 by John Ponzello and Vannone, the decoration of the facade, never completed, were replaced by architectural motifs painted, however, insufficient to remove that air discharged to the temple and unfinished that characterizes the outside. As for the painting kit, the second chapel on the left houses a painting by Andrea Semino with the Immaculate (1588), dominated by frescoes, very deteriorated, Andrea Ansaldo (Madonna Enthroned with the Presentation in the Temple, 1630); opposite, Beheading of the Baptist altarpiece by Benedetto Brandimart (1590). In the best conditions of the murals appear Ansaldo other frescoes that adorn the vestibule (medals with glimpses of saints and angels, the work of John the Baptist Bayard, 1650) and the corbels of the dome (Prophets of Paolo Gerolamo Piola, late eighteenth century). Of opposite sign appears in the rich interior, decorated with Corinthian pilasters and ennobled by the beautiful stucco work of the choir (in bad condition) with the Stories of the Passion of Christ, made dall'urbinate Marcello Sparzo and Stephen Storace in 1603, to report as well the statues of St. Stephen, Elizabeth, Zechariah, John the Evangelist, John the Baptist, Sebastian, Rocco and Giorgio - place four on each side, in niches within the two major chapels - carved at the beginning of the seventeenth century by the Ticino Taddeo Carlone and Daniele box.
