Bandiana Day Trip
REMLR, KVE, VMVC members convoyed to Bandiana base and the Military Vehicle Museum (part of the Corowa Swim-In activities). The convoyed parked outside and decanted into a handful of vehicles to enter - security was Safe Base Charlie. The Museum exhibits and curator-staff were very high standard. The BBQ held in the grounds afterwards was also memorable. A great day out, thanks Mick, thanks all.

Riding the T-34
The only working order T-34/85 tank in Australia is located at the Bandiana Army Museum, near the Australian rural center of Albury-Wodonga. This unique piece of war history is believed to have been present at the Battle of Berlin. The tank is shown in working order, is taken out and driven around, and information on the many varied and interesting technical details of the tank are presented. A must for serious scale modelers and military history buffs, this film shows the T-34 tank, probably the finest piece of Soviet World War 2 equipment, up close and personal.
The Australian Army Museum at Bandiana is probably the most accessible and informal Army Museum in Australia, combining superb and unusual items of military history with friendly and dedicated staff. This museum is well worth visiting for both local and international tourists.
We are indebted to the staff at the museum for allowing access to this footage. Many thanks to the Australian Army for maintaining a fine museum collection.
This film is freely available in the public domain for anyone who wishes to link to it.

1917 Real WWI Footage Menin Road Ypres & Albion Truck
The Menin Road was the main carriage way to the Allied / Australian Flanders Battlefields of Polygon Wood Messines and Passchendaele. An infamous spot along Menin Road was called Hell Fire Corner which as it is today, was a cross roads. Hell Fire Corner was named as it was under fire of German Artillery. Thus hessian hides were erected so that Germans could not see traffic. The Albion Truck was a common motorised vehicle on the road. Scottish Company, Albion Motor Car Company Ltd during World War 1 built for the War Office large quantities of 3 ton trucks powered by a 32 hp engine using chain drive to the rear wheels. These were common truck on the road. The Abion truck shown at end of footage is located at Army Museum Bandiana Wodonga Victoria. Albions are as Sure as the Sunrise.
