It was first opened in April 2007 and it has been named the winner of the ICSC Gold Award for “Best Shopping Center 2013” under the Expansion and Design Category in the Middle East & North Africa. We will also visit the Prestige wing of the Mall, which houses many high end renowned international brands, which houses a two-storey Chanel Boutique, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, a luxurious district of The Mall for visitors who seeks elegance. The Mall features more than 1000 stores and parking space that fits more than 1200 cars.

We were really honoured to work on the lighting design of Phase 4B of The Avenues, alongside some re-designs of other areas from earlier phases. The architects were Gensler and they did a fantastic job of creating a really unique retail space. The lighting was supplied through Al Dhow and Khabari who both did a great job of delivering and installing the scheme.
The scale of the project is enormous - according to Wikipedia The Avenues Mall is the largest shopping mall in Kuwait and the second largest mall in the Middle East. We filmed it in Kuwait's worst rain storm for years - they had a years rain in 24 hours and the next day everything was suspended including all the flights home!
Big thanks to iGuzzini who invited us to Kuwait to speak at a Lunch & Learn seminar which gave us the opportunity to see the final project.
