The Storm Christmas Day 2014 | MEGA KIT by CampKits Australia | THE BASIN
On Christmas Day 2014 a major storm hit Sydney. The CampKings Crew were travelling and camping at the time at the Basin Campground near Pittwater NSW. The storm came in hard and fast and swept away many sites. Although the camping community pulled together and salvaged many wrecked sites, the CampKings Mega Tarp withstood the deluge and kept the crew dry and safe. This is just a short display of the intensity of that afternoon...

The basin has a number of swamp wallabies hanging about enjoying the plentiful grass in the picnic area

5,8 km return bush walking at Basin trail. Beautiful hidden beach that can only be reached by boat or walking. Met native resident, Swamp Wallabies (and one of them carried her 'Joey').
The Basin Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park
The Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park is a protected national park that is located in New South Wales, Australia. The 14,977-hectare national park is situated 25 kilometres north of Sydney located largely within the Ku-ring-gai, Hornsby, Warringah and Pittwater local government areas. The villages of Cottage Point, Appletree Bay, and Bobbin Head are located within park boundaries. An isolated portion of the park, Barrenjoey Headland, is located to the north of Palm Beach east of the primary park body and is home to Barrenjoey Lighthouse.

The Basin
Barbecue at The Basin was a great day out for the members the Neutral Bay Probus Club and their wives - first a bus ride to Palm Beach, then a ferry across beautiful Pittwater to the popular picnic venue, The Basin, where the members cooked steak and onions for lunch. A large local goanna scrounged around for a feed too! Back on the ferry and bus to Sydney, everyone was happy and replete after another great Neutral Bay Probus Club picnic day!
