Welcome to Roma, the gateway to Queensland's Outback. Located along the Warrego Way, this outback town is where natural gas was first discovered in Australia. It's landmark the Big Rig, isn't the only thing in town. The Roma Saleyards are the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, where on Tuesday and Thursday mornings they come to life with farmers, auctioneers and cattle as buyers place their bids on some of Australia’s finest stock.

Outback Truckers At Roma
Roma Queensland is home to some unique Outback Truckers who love their Haulmark Trailers and Kenworth Trucks and is the staging place for supplies heading to the oil and gas rigs dotted all throughout central Queensland. These guys are some of the Toughest Truckers this side of the Black Stump. They spec thier rugged big rigs with BPW axles, Holland Hitch fifth wheels and Hella driving lights mounted on King Bullbars.
This video shows some of the wildest toughest men and women truckers driving the longest semi tractor trailers in the world on the worst roads through the Outback of Australia.

Haulmark Trailer’s Outback Truckers visit Australian owner-driver, Chris Stansbie Transport at Roma Queensland for a run with a new Haulmark drop deck trailer. Roma is at the heart of Queensland’s rich oil and gas reserves, and they’ve been using it in the area since 1906 when gas was used to the light the town. As we discovered it is home to some unique Outback Truckers who love their Haulmark Trailers, Kenworth, Mack, International and Western Star Trucks. The isolation and rugged environment of central western Queensland provides many challenges for our crew filming truck TV Australia and has hardened these guys and they are some of the world’s toughest truckers this side of the Black Stump. They spec their rugged big rigs with SAF Holland axles, Jost turntables and Great white LED driving lights mounted on King Bullbars.
Chris also has a 60-inch custom Truckart bunk on his trusty old International Transtar.

Outback Queensland Masters: Roma
Is this Australia’s most unique sporting event?
The first-ever Outback Queensland Masters teed off in Roma early in June. Participants from all around Australia travelled to the event to enjoy two days of golf, tales and entertainment.
The Outback Queensland Masters is made up of six events on six of the most unique courses in the world. Participants who take part in at least three of the events are a chance to win big at the Million Dollar Hole-In-One Challenge at Mount Isa.
