Do You Speak American? [Learn English] - Episode 2
Do You Speak American? is a documentary film and accompanying book about journalist Robert MacNeil's investigation into how different people throughout the United States of America speak. The book and documentary look at the evolution of America's way of speaking from the English language to various ways of speaking in regions throughout the country. Divisions of ethnicity, geography and social status and how they affect how Americans communicate are addressed. As part of the project, MacNeil traveled across the country conducting interviews with ordinary people as well as experts such as William Labov. In the United States, the documentary was broadcast in several parts on PBS. The companion book (ISBN 0-385-51198-1) was co-authored by MacNeil and William Cran.
The Bible in Public Life
A panel of scholars examined the Bible's influence on early American thinkers such as Thomas Paine, 19th-century African-American women, English translators of the text and writers using scriptural quotations in newspaper articles. As part of their discussion, the scholars will also highlight resources found in the archives of the Library of Congress.

King Arthur II & Prince Madoc's voyage to America in AD 562
Alan Wilson & James Michael present this lecture in a College of Kentucky - one of several that Alan lectured at in his lecture tour of 1992. James Michael sadly passed away in January 2008. Were it not for his dedicated work little of this Arthur research would be known in the USA today.
This full documentary contains not just a presentation lecture but also extra footage which has never been broadcast until now. You will be shown some of the vast amounts of evidence concerning the voyage of Arthur 2 and Prince Madoc sailing from Britain to America during the 6th century - almost a thousand years before Columbus.
Also covered later in the documentary is James Michael explaining the ancient British Coelbren alphabet, and its connection to many inscriptions found in the America.
The establishment crooks have written off this Coelbren alphabet as the creation of a Welsh-British Antiquarian called Iolo Morganwg during the19th century, yet the authors easily show in their books how this accusation is completely false and they give many examples of its use and notice CENTURIES prior to the time of the alleged forgery.
The documentary is not always good quality in parts as it was only converted in 2008 using old VHS tapes originally recorded in 1992. Despite this it is a brilliant and informative documentary of how history -- like most things -- has been manipulated and forgotten.
Alan Wilson is now 80 years old and still going strong. He and his life-long fellow researcher Baram Blackett have written and published nine books. They also have available several documentaries (old and new) documenting their researches and what happens when you discover things the establishment doesn't want discovered.
Their books published to date (oldest first) are as follows:
1 - Arthur, King of Glamorgan and Gwent.
2 - Arthur and the Charter of Kings.
3 - Arthur the War King
4 - Artorius Rex Discovered
5 - The Holy Kingdom
6 - The King Arthur Conspiracy
7 - Moses in the Hieroglyphs
8 - The Discovery of the Ark of the Covenant

While Twitter feuds and Russian hackers dominate news headlines, President Donald Trump’s administration is radically changing the policies and programs that define the American way of life. In their first year, the Trump administration’s efforts to defund Obamacare, repeal LGBT protections in the workplace, impose tax cuts and deport undocumented immigrants have significantly impacted millions of Americans, all while the mainstream media has struggled to keep up. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Cay Johnston says he has the answers. Since 1988, Johnston has been chronicling Trump’s personal life and business dealings—from his casinos to his marriages and beyond. In his new book, It’s Even Worse Than You Think, Johnston is going where the media won’t—into the weeds—to shed new light on the Trump administration’s policies and bureaucratic choices and how they will change America. Join Johnston for a revealing conversation about the Trump administration’s impact on our finances, health care, safety and much, much more.
Trailer park millionaires
Some of the richest people in the US, including billionaires Warren Buffett and Sam Zell, have made millions from trailer parks at the expense of the country's poorest people. Seeing their success, ordinary people from across the country are now trying to follow in their footsteps and become trailer park millionaires. The Guardian went to Orlando to learn the tricks of the trade from Frank Rolfe, the self-appointed dean of Mobile Home University, as he led would-be investors around a trailer park for sex offenders.

#41 Mystery Babylon 11: The Assassins
This is Part 11 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon.
The story of the Hashshashin, from whence the word assassin is derived, an Arab/Islam tentacle of Mystery Babylon.
Again the symbology, initiations, and esoteric secrets are similar to Freemasonry.
The Hashshashin, who utilized drugs, illusion, mind control, covert methods of spying, political assassinations, terrorism, and murder of their enemies, are the forerunners of modern covert Black Ops organizations such as the CIA, Mossad, MI-6, Al Qaeda, KGB, and Hezbollah.
#42 Mystery Babylon 12: The Templars and The Assassins 51:52
This is Part 12 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon.
The rise of the Knight Templars. It is a myth that the Templars were created to defend Jerusalem and pilgrim travelers, for they were created as an Order of the Mystery Religion. An Order cloaked with the appearance of Christianity. The Templars learned their ways from the Hashshashin, with whom they were in contact with in the mid-east. The Templars brought the Mystery Religion back to Europe with them, along with their riches and became the first international bankers. They were the original Communists and introduced Socialism to the nations of Europe and Lorded over the Kings and Princes of Europe.
They were the beginning of the modern era's march towards the New World Order.
William Cooper also briefly talks about Waco and Ruby Ridge.
#43 Mystery Babylon 13: The End of The Templars 1:42:07
This is Part 13 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon.
The Oaths of the Templars. The Hospitaliters. Templars richer than the kings and nations they operated in. The Templars, frustrated in their attempt to take back the Holy Land from the Moslem hordes, plotted to turn on the Pope and the Kings of Europe and to overcome all of Christianity. The story of Jacques DeMolay, the persecution and execution of the Templars, and the fall of the Templars who are driven underground. The Baphomet and the adoration of man's intellect. The origins of Friday the 13th and the first October Surprise.
#46 Mystery Babylon 14: The Skull and Bones 2:29:06
This is Part 14 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon.
England and Scotland became the safe haven for the persecuted and fugitive Templars on the continent.
The elusive connection between the Order of The Knight Templars and the Order of Freemasonry is found in the genealogy of the families of the Elite. William Cooper discusses the book, Born in Blood, the Lost Secrets of Freemasonry, by John J. Robinson.
The French Roots of Freemasonry.
The Freemason's symbology and ritual confirms the connection with the Templar persecution in France. The Freemasons, who were not, as popularly believed, a guild of medieval stone masons, but an underground secret society to designed to protect the fugitive Templars from the deadly persecution of the Pope and the King of France, were known also as the Sons of Light.
The origins of the legend of Hiram Abiff.
The connection to the Skull and Bones, the Pirates, the Rosicrucian Order, the French Revolution, the Order of the Quest, the Brotherhood of Death, the Bush family, families of America's elite, the US Intelligence agencies, and the American political parties.
#47 Mystery Babylon 15: The Roshaniya 3:15:22
This is Part 15 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon.
The Roshaniya, or Illumined Ones of Afghanistan, were a re-emergence of the Cult of the Assassins. The Roshaniya's connection to the Jesuits and the Illuminati of Germany formed by Jesuit Priest, Adam Weishaupt.
The USA was designed as the vehicle of Mystery Babylon to forge the world into their great work, a one word totalitarian socialist government, a government of the elite over the masses.
The coming King of the World. The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.
Comparison of the Bavarian Illuminati to the Roshaniya.
Now, with the back ground on the Templars, the Assassins, and Roshaniya, we are starting to see the connection to the world events of today with the USA and Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, but there is much more to come.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

SUMMARY
=======
Lynching is the practice of murder by a group by extrajudicial action. Lynchings in the United States rose in number after the American Civil War in the late 1800s, following the emancipation of slaves; they declined in the 1920s but have continued to take place into the 21st century. Most lynchings were of African-American men in the South, but women were also lynched, and white lynchings of blacks occurred in Midwestern and border states, especially during the 20th-century Great Migration of blacks out of the South. The purpose was to enforce white supremacy and intimidate blacks by racial terrorism. On a per capita basis lynchings were also common in California and the Old West, especially of Latinos, although they represented less than 10% of the national total. Native Americans and Asian Americans were also lynched. Other ethnicities (white, Finnish-American, Jewish, Irish, Italian-American) were occasionally lynched.
The stereotype of a lynching is a hanging, because hangings are what crowds of people saw, and are also easy to photograph. Some hangings were professionally photographed and sold as postcards, which were popular souvenirs in some parts of the U.S. Victims were also killed by mobs in a variety of other ways: shot repeatedly, burned alive, forced to jump off a bridge, dragged behind cars, and the like. Sometimes they were tortured as well, with body parts sometimes removed and sold as souvenirs. Occasionally lynchings were not fatal (see Lynching survivors in the United States). A mock lynching, putting the rope around the neck of someone suspected of concealing information, might be used to compel confessions.According to the Tuskegee Institute, 4,743 people were lynched between 1882 and 1968 in the United States, including 3,446 African Americans and 1,297 whites. More than 73 percent of lynchings in the post-Civil War period occurred in the Southern states. According to the Equal Justice Initiative, 4,084 African-Americans were lynched between 1877 and 1950 in the South.Lynchings were most frequent from 1890 to the 1920s, with a peak in 1892. Lynchings were often large mob actions, attended by hundreds or thousands of watchers, sometimes announced in advance in newspapers and in one instance with a special train. However, in the later 20th century lynchings became more secretive, and were conducted by smaller groups of people.
According to Michael Pfeifer, the prevalence of lynching in postbellum America reflects lack of confidence in the due process judicial system. He links the decline in lynching in the early twentieth century with the advent of the modern death penalty: legislators renovated the death penalty...out of direct concern for the alternative of mob violence. He also cites the modern, racialized excesses of u ...

There are few traditions as storied and entrenched in our culture and society as college athletics. While the visibility and challenges of college athletics are widely recognized, less-known are the positive impacts participation in college athletics has on student athletes, 20 percent of whom are the first in their family to attend college. Yet, only in the United States do colleges and universities formally sponsor athletic programs, the costs of which can be high. Why do so many institutions put such an emphasis on athletics, and what impact does this have on colleges and universities, students, and our education system overall? How can college athletics be improved to better serve both students and institutions? And what would the country be like without college athletics?
In this forum, experts will engage in a conversation about the tangible and intangible benefits of college athletics, with the aim of broadening how we think about the role of sport and its impact on education and society.
ARTNOIR: Critical Sound Boarding with Elia Alba, Firelei Báez and Saya Woolfalk
MFA Fine Arts and ARTNOIR present Critical Sound Boarding, an intimate conversation between artists Elia Alba, Firelei Báez and Saya Woolfalk. In this dialogue, Báez – who primarily creates works on paper – and multimedia artists Alba and Woolfalk will discuss their individual practice, social commentary, as well as how their education and relationships with other artists and each other have shaped their work and propelled it forward. The conversation will be moderated by Larry Ossei-Mensah, indepdent curator and co-founder of ARTNOIR.
Born in Brooklyn in 1962, Elia Alba interrogates boundaries and categorization—of race, gender, history, culture—and challenges perceptions of their fixedness to present new interpretations and narratives. The artist graduated from Hunter College and completed the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program, and her work has been included in exhibitions at El Museo del Barrio, New York; the Rhode Island School of Design; the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; and the 10th Havana Biennial. Additionally, Alba and her work have been recognized by various institutions such as the Studio Museum in Harlem, the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Her most recent project, The Supper Club, which creates portraits of over 60 contemporary artists of color (including Báez and Woolfalk) and brings them together for meaningful dialogue, was recently on view at The 8th Floor, New York, and is funded by The Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation; a publication is forthcoming.
Firelei Báez was born in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, in 1981 and studied at Cooper Union, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and Hunter College where she was awarded her MFA in 2010. Interested in race, anthropology, science fiction and black subjectivity, Báez uses her work to interrogate diasporic identity formation. For Báez, art, through humor and fantasy, is a way to explore identities and to fight against stereotypes and essentialism. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at the Pérez Art Museum, Miami; the Studio Museum in Harlem, New York; the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art, Atlanta; as well as a recent solo show, Bloodlines at The Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh. Additionally, Báez has held residencies at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace, The Lower East Side Printshop and the Bronx Museum. She was also awarded the Joan Mitchell Painters and Sculptors Award, as well as the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Award in Painting.
Inspired by science fiction, Saya Woolfalk (b. 1979, Gifu City, Japan) uses painting, video, sculpture, performance and installation to offer rich new worlds replete with fantastic figures adorned with garments of geometric patterns and vibrant colors. In her work, these forms are comprised of human, animal and botanical forms; by combining these elements, she highlights cultural hybridity, offers a critique of present society and creates a surreal utopia. Woolfalk studied at Brown University and received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her works have been shown at MoMA PS1, New York; the Brooklyn Museum of Art; the Studio Museum in Harlem, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; The Yerba Buena Center, San Francisco; and Performa 9; her solo exhibitions include ChimaTEK Life Products at Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, VA (2014) and The Empathics at the Montclair Art Museum (2012) in Montclair, NJ. Additionally, Woolfalk has been the recipient of several awards including a Fulbright Fellowship for research in Brazil, a Joan Mitchell Foundation MFA Grant and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship.
ARTNOIR is a global collective of culturalists who design experiences aimed to engage this generation’s dynamic and diverse creative community. We offer an alternative perspective to the traditional arts narrative, support the freedom of artistic expression for all and provide a platform for bold acts of creativity and storytelling.
