Roman Pig Story
This time around, a little myth. Origin stories are great, but when the trail runs cold for facts, we have only legends to give us insight. This is a far-fetched tale of a wandering Roman pig and the remarkable journey he made to become the first crudely cured prosciutto. Try not to feel sorry for poor, little Franco. He is a complete fabrication. We think.

Film : Wild boar in Gloucestershire with Alex sally HD Roe deer, wild boar, Coleford
About me
I have a passion for wildlife and have put together a couple of guides you might like. One is tips and tricks for filming wildlife ;
The other is a guide with lots of ideas for attracting wildlife to your garden, many of these ideas and tips are used in my films;
About this video
Firstly, Thank you very much for watching my short film Wild boar in the forest of dean HD with Alex sally
Before I tell you about the wild boar in the forest of dean in this video can I ask a wee favour? I spend a lot of time making these videos and try to make them interesting little films to watch. If you appreciate this video please click on the like or subscribe oh and I love getting comments :) Thanks
I have been spending some time in the fabulous Forest of Dean, looking for wild boar and today for the first time managed to get my first look. Very impressive animals. I wanted to share this straight away, So I have edited it straight away and uploaded. I hope you enjoy it. If you do enjoy watching please leave a comment and please subscribe.
I have tried something a bit different (again) with this video by doing the sounds in camera to give it more of a radio feel. I love wildlife programmes on the radio so I wanted this to be a bit like that. I also wanted to include the footage from my walk as it was which makes a bit more rough and ready but hopefully gives you a feel of how excited I was to see a boar..VERY!
For those interested in looking , I spent a half dozen good days looking before I saw this, mostly in the Coleford area. Local's are the best tipsters. A big thank you to the guy with the little spaniel that pointed me in the right direction..I'm on facebook here: and my book on shooting video is here: You can download a big chunk free..

Thanks for watching

a couple of facts not in the video
Until very recently, no free-living wild boar (native or introduced) have been present in Britain for the last 300 years
On the 21st October 1998 DEFRA (then known as MAFF) issued a News Release concerning the results of their study on wild boar living free in Britain. The study confirmed the presence of two populations of wild boar living in Britain - The wild boar had returned! If you are interested in filming birds and wildlife you might like this guide I wrote on filming wildlife.
thank you

The Punch and Judy Man - Order now
Order now:
A true contrarian, Hancock followed up the cosmopolitan Technicolor escapism of The Rebel with a much more muted and low-key character piece. Though The Punch and Judy Man may feel like a step backwards, with its monochromatic look and bittersweet comedy, it is very definitely a companion piece to The Rebel - with which it shares the same themes of individualism, social one-upmanship and a casual disregard for authority. Newly restored in High Definition from the original 35mm camera negative, The Punch and Judy Man hasn't looked this good since its original cinema exhibition in 1962.
Clearly under the influence of the British New Wave, still just about in vogue when the film went into production, and physical character comedians like Chaplin and Tati, Hancock dispensed with long-time writers Galton and Simpson and wrote the script himself, along with broadcaster Philip Oakes (then Hancock's neighbour and, latterly, biographer). As neither were trained scriptwriters, the resulting tale of seaside Punch and Judy man Wally Pinner strikes a somewhat uneven balance between bittersweet comic drama and the more conventional type of droll character comedy for which Hancock had become famous. Without Galton and Simpson's influence Hancock has free reign to pursue his quest of realism, a quality that he felt – not without some justification – to have been lacking in some of his earlier work.
Shot in scintillating black and white by BAFTA award-winning cinematographer Gilbert Taylor (who would go on to be Director of Photography on a little thing called Star Wars), The Punch and Judy Man is a much riskier proposition than The Rebel - which was on rather safe ground and riffed its plot on the much-lauded Poetry Society episode of Hancock's radio show. Its mixture of low-key, character-driven humour, meandering plotline and occasional slapstick create a comedy that's altogether more challenging and somewhat bleaker than anything Hancock had done previously.
The opening scenes are very low-key indeed. Viewers with long memories may spot the conflation of radio programme schedules as Hancock dresses in his bedroom to the accompaniment of weekday staple Housewives' Choice – which is followed by a very recognisable Saturday Club. This leads into a near mute breakfast table scene, intended to convey the stasis into which Wally's marriage to Delia (Sylvia Sims) has collapsed. The first big laugh comes as he vents his frustrations by inserting a small posy of flowers into the backside of a china pig. But scenes such as this are few and far between in a movie that, like its central character, drifts along for the most part in an amiable, if unfocused, fashion.
The film's most celebrated and best remembered scene is also its longest: finding himself in an ice cream parlour in the company of an amiable urchin, Wally orders exactly the same ice cream confection as the lad, and proceeds to follow his every move as he attacks the gargantuan confection (Hancock is reputed to have cleansed his palate with vodka between takes). The blossoming relationship between the two characters looks as if it's going somewhere, but is not pursued beyond this sequence. Instead, the almost plotless script gravitates towards a climactic gala ball celebrating the 60th anniversary of Piltdown-on-Sea, which rapidly becomes a bunfight in the most literal sense.
The supreme irony of The Punch and Judy Man is that its downbeat, provincial mood was exactly what Hancock had been seeking to avoid when he severed his relationship with Galton and Simpson – their proposed script, The Day Off, would have seen his character taking a literal busman's holiday, through a succession of scenes that reads like an early draft of Billy Liar.
The Punch and Judy Man signalled the end of Hancock's ambitions as a film star. Its poor performance meant there would be no further offers of starring vehicles, and his subsequent appearances on celluloid were limited to a couple of cameos in Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines and The Wrong Box. 1968 saw him decamp to Australia to recreate the character he'd spent the last eight years trying to run away from, before he finally took the advice of Nanette Newman's character in The Rebel.

It is a truly amazing phenomenon; out of the sordid past of colonization follows cultural integration, as people from different walks of life come together to create a new hybrid of culture. This is exactly what occurs in some of the world’s greatest cities, from New York and Dubai, to Hong Kong and London. When people from all of England’s colonies decided to migrate toward the opportunity and prosperity of London, they soon conglomerated into neighbourhoods which eventually showcased their traditions and cultures with a bit of British influence. It is in such a setting that Lahore Kebab House began, and Amy Schuster is taking her time to visit this famous Pakistani establishment which lies many thousands of miles from Islamabad.
A simple, clean and handsome diner experience welcomes the visitor to Lahore, where few gazes miss the bold red-and-black billboards at both their Steatham High Road and Umberston Street diners. Started by the Siddique family more than 40 years ago, the Lahore restaurants bring traditional Pakistani cuisine to the noses and taste buds of Londoners who can witness the recreation of Asian favourites through the open-plan kitchens. From healthy, filling meals like Daal Gosht (lentil curry), to quick, simple snacks like a Seekh Kebab, Lahore can satisfy every hunger. A traditional Seekh Kebab is Pakistan’s version of the famous dish. Various ground meats are packed onto a kebab stick with a host of herbs and spices, before being cooked in a traditional Tandoor oven. The Seekh kebab is then served with either a mint relish or chutney.
If you are not familiar with the Tandoor oven, it is the traditional way of cooking Pakistani meals. A Tandoor oven is historically a cylindrical clay pot in which a fire is made at the bottom, and foods are then suspended within the pot where they are cooked and smoked simultaneously. The traditional Tandoor has been replaced by stainless steel versions as well as more modern ceramic versions since. In Pakistan, the tandoor is responsible for cooking, apart from kebabs, the famous naan breads that are the country’s staple. In this video, Amy’s favourite seems to be the Keema Naan. Keema, Kheema or Qeema is the Southern Asian word for lamb, and the leftover lamb from use in curries is chopped up and cushioned within a naan pocket. When grilled in the Tandoor, the juices from the cooked lamb make the naan tender, oily and juicy.
Finished off with a sweet or mango lassi is the finest way to end a Pakistani meal fit for a foodie king or queen. Lassi is made from a thin yoghurt that is blended with water and spices. Syrup is sometimes added to the lassi to make it sweet, and at other times some fruit can be included (such as mango or even banana). If lassi doesn’t satisfy the sweet tooth, a little kulfi should go down well. Heavier and sweeter than ice cream, kulfi also sports flavours that include cardamom and saffron.
The value of traditional Southern Asian culture has been somewhat priceless for a country like England that sports a myriad of different traditions. So if you want to experience Pakistani traditional cuisine first-hand in the city of London, visit the Lahore website here:

50년 오대산 산채백반, 평창 노포 맛집! 진부 부일식당: 더덕구이와 산채비빔밥 먹방! 외국인 맛집탐방!
Sanchae means, “mountain vegetables,” and indicates the various herbs, roots, mushrooms, and vegetables
산채는 산에서 나는 채소를 말합니다. 다양한 허브류, 근채류, 버섯 종류와 야채들을 가리키죠.
harvested naturally in the mountain soil of Korea.
모두 한국 산 속의 흙에서 자연적으로 키워지는 것들입니다.
Lately, sanchae has absolutely captivated my culinary attention.
저는 최근에 산채에 완전히 꽂혀 버렸답니다.
These vegetables are picked in the mountains, often dried for preservation,
이 모든 야채들은 산에서 채취되어지는데요 어떤 것들은 보관을 위해 건조시키기도 한답니다.
and then rehydrated to be consumed.
그리고 건조된 재료들은 수분을 첨가하여 조리합니다.
Forget farm to table: this is forest to table.
“농장에서 식탁까지”라는 말은 이제 잊으세요. 이건 “산에서 식탁까지”입니다^^.
And one of the oldest sanchae restaurants in Korea lies in Pyeongchang-gun, at the foot of Odessan mountain.
가장 오래된 산채음식점 중 하나는 오대산기슭에 있는 평창군에 위치하고 있습니다.
Buil Sikdang serves sanchae baek-ban, which is mountain vegetables with white rice.
부일 식당은 산 나물과 밥이 나오는 산채백반을 선보이고 계십니다.
Baek-Ban is Korea’s staple meal, synonymous with simple home cooking
백반은 한국의 주된 식사 형태인데요, 한국의 가정음식이라고 보시면 됩니다.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is like visiting a Korean grandmother’s house.

And 100% of the food is sourced locally and served at a meager 10,000won (8.50$) per person.

Number 5:
On the paper fish - 纸上烤鱼 Zhi shang kaoyu
This is a grilled fish on the paper, so that there is no charring of any ingredients and all the flavours of the spicy and garlicky broth are soaked into the fish. You also order additional ingredients, like eggs, lotus root, tofu, potato, cilantro, and greens. I ate this one in Chengdu. It's a great Chengdu food to try.
Number 4 - Leshan duck - 甜皮鸭 Tian pi ya
This is the famous Leshan sweet skinned duck. It's stewed in ginger, onions, sugar, salt, star anise, Sichuan peppercorn, cinnamon, fennel, cloves, and cardamom. It's super easy and this is one of my favourite ducks in all of China.
Number 3 - Firewood Chicken - 柴火鸡 Chaihuoji
This was truly a magical experience. A whole chicken is chopped up and put into a wok heated by wood fire. It's boiled in a wok full of Sichuan broad bean paste and dried chilies, making it super spicy, juicy, and salty. The wok is full of other vegetable ingredients that you personally order. I ordered potatoes to keep it classic. The best part of the whole meal is when they take a dough and place it on the side of the wok and put the lid over it, making these gooey and sticky and crispy on the outside. So satisfying. Another great Sichuan food to try in Chengdu.
Number 2 -Xinjiang food
Xinjiang food is a huge culinary world that I can't say I've fully sampled. But what I did try in Urumqi was amazing. I had a meal at a traditional Xinjiang restaurant that was 3 main Xinjiang foods: Pumpkin and Lamb steamed buns, Xinjiang Lamb Kebabs, and A lamb and onion and black pepper rounang stuffed bread.
Number 1 - Tibetan food- Xizang cai
I tried this food at the four girls mountain range in Western Sichuan. This meal was so so satisfying and really rich and heavy. It consisted of spicy yak meat, fresh local potatoes, fresh local first growth forest hand picked greens fried up in a wok with yak butter, fresh tibetan butter tea, and blood sausage. Yet the best part of this meal was eating with the local people of the area. They were so welcoming and friendly and it really felt like a once in a lifetime experience to just sit down and chat with them in their little living room heated by a wood stove in the coldest part of the winter. What a try experience!
Was there something that you think I should have put in this list? What would you like to try most? What are your thoughts about this video? Leave me a comment below about anything, I love hearing from you!
