Levitt Hagg Near Doncaster South Yorkshire UK 2017
Levitt Hagg (sometimes spelled Levit Hagg or Levett Hagg ) is an abandoned hamlet in South Yorkshire, located approximately two miles southwest of Doncaster and near Conisbrough Castle. Limestone began to be quarried at the site in ancient times. Levitt Hagg was also the site, along with nearby environs in the Don Gorge, of ancient woodlands rich in yew trees. The old settlement of Levitt Hagg was removed in the 1950s. The River Don valley, in which the settlement was situated, was a site given to limestone formations which lent themselves to early mining for building purposes.[5] The area in which Levitt Hagg is located was known as Conisbrough Cliffs and was composed of two quarries: Near Cliff, which had been exhausted by 1791; and Far Cliff which included the long-gone early industrial hamlet of Levitt Hagg.[6] Limestone from the quarries at Levitt Hagg, which had a vertical height of 75 feet,[7] has been widely used in building in the South Yorkshire area since medieval times. The soft dolomite limestone from the banks of the Don east of Conisbrough made ideal building material, which yielded profits for some. An account book from the mid-eighteenth century records the expenses of quarrying limestone at the site, which belonged at that time to the Battie-Wrightson family of Cusworth.[ As well as quarrying operations, barges to be used on the canals were also built on the bank by the village, the first one being completed in 1886.[9] Boat building was abandoned in 1901. The only surviving evidence of industrial activity are abandoned lime kilns, the upper portions of which are still visible. Today Levitt Hagg is the site of an abandoned quarry and landfill site, providing refuge for four species of bats, including whiskered, long-eared, Daubenton's and Natterer's. This area is great for walks, and if you feel the need for some refreshment or food then why not drop into 'The Boat Inn', nursery lane (Building Image within Video).

Caminhada em Methley - Leeds - Reino Unido
Canal port and River Aire near Methley, near Leeds. Ideal for a middle week walk.

York Floods 2014 - River Ouse by quadcopter
16th Feb 2014, River Ouse, near Bishopthorpe.
It was windy and I was tearing round at top speed, which doesn't conspire to produce decent shots. Fun though.
Im a Believer
This is the first song in my Second set at the Charity Show at the Edward the 7th in Allerton Bywater in aid of the Pontefract Hospital Cardio Ward. Unfortunately i wasnt aware i was going to be doing 2 sets so had let the drink flow a little too much. Thats why i seem so obsessed that the sound wasnt quite right ;).
Out of control narrowboat drifts down River Severn
THESE are the dramatic moments an out of control narrowboat drifted towards Worcester's bridges in rising flood water. The unmanned boat, called “Expensive Hobby”, was seen spinning in the fast flowing waters of the Severn on a collision course for city bridges. But disaster was averted thanks to the quick and courageous actions of specialist boat crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service. At one point the vessel drifted perilously close to the central pillar of the railway bridge as firefighters were locked in a dynamic race against time to secure the vessel before it was dashed to pieces in the swirling waters.

The New Ellington Hotel in Leeds
The New Ellington is a funky boutique hotel with 35 chic bedrooms in the middle of Leeds' financial district. The entrance to this red-brick building is discreet, but you immediately enter into a striking atrium of lavish furnishing and décor.
You'll get the picture as soon as you walk in to the lounge bar, with armchairs in crushed burgundy contrasted with brightly coloured materials of varying textures, brown leather 'thrones' and groovy light fittings. It is edgy and individual yet maintains the important element of relaxation which proves extremely welcoming. See for more details on The Ellington.
